First time I ever saw … Matt finish play was December 1980 Supporting Midnight oil in Sydney’s long gone Paris Theatre Matt blew me away with his voice and guitar playing They were a 4 piece band With the classic line up as I called it Matt Moffatt vocals and lead guitar John prior drums ,Jeff Clayton rhythm guitar,and Rick Grossman on Bass,whom is also playing bass here in this version of short note They were a very tight and serious band in their early days Unfortunately the demons got a hold of Matt and he struggled with them throughout much of his short life I saw him go from shredding on a guitar to not playing any solos at all Like here in short note,the other guitarist plays the solo I met him and the band several times and did some photography work for them And they were all great guys One of my all time favourite bands to see live 3 cheers to Matt Moffitt and his great music Short is one of my top ten favourite songs

There’s a Matt Finish reunion in the 2000s that culminated in a new album with the original line up in some alternate universe, and how I wish I lived in that world.

Huge guitar sound and the drums are crisp as! Great era of live rock in Aus. This is great Wayne. Reminds me of Mudeye. I have clips of them doing Melbourne gigs.

This song is the anthem for the backdrop of my misspent youth. Thank you for such a great song Matt. You left us way too young.
