Not a salmon that's a trout
@@JohnMcevoy-c4x it’s 100% an Atlantic salmon. The longer they’re in the rivers, the blacker they get . Then fall rolls around, they turn a gorgeous golden color, easily can be mistaken with a brown trout. But , it is 100% an Atlantic salmon, not a trout.

I used your method here and low and behold there is still a few brooks that hold trout in sw nova scotia I got 4 last night hard to find a spot with no damn pickerel or bass but there is a few! Love this video man.

Its been a few years since i fished under the bridges at Howley, but spent many an evening there. Don't recall being so lucky as you fellas 🤣 But you are doing her right with that feed of moose! Wish I had known about your channel... I live in NB now, but just spent a week in Corner Brook (hometown) for vacation, and was dying for a bit of fishing. Not sure about them non-resident rules though. Keep us the great videos!

Bit of fun, anyway. I grew up on the West coast of Newfoundland and my father is from Deer Lake originally so I spent quite a bit of time there growing up. Nice to see you fish around town like that.

why cant you tell us where you are if your making a video and putting it online its a bit of a prickish move to keep the place a secret saying that we are all littering or abusing fish is bullshit thats my little rant you dont own these spots
If you can figure it out , you can go there ! I’m not giving people coordinates to spots , that’s not how this works !! It’s not a “ prickish “ move at all. Calling out the abuse and litter that I’ve seen myself firsthand is not “ bullshit “. It’s unfortunate SOME people ruin things for others. These spots are 100% public. Never once did I say I owned them , mister John Holmes !!

@@user-mb8oh4ye4h used to tell spots in older videos … when I returned I found garbage , dead wildlife , & overcrowds of people. I wish I could tell people , & let them enjoy it as much as I do ! But unfortunately some jerks ruin that for us.
Thank you. I understand! I was raised in Corner Brook . I used to fish all the west coast rivers. At that time the salmon limit was 10 fish per day. Good old times!

Thank you for your video. What ammo do you use? Can I use target load 7.5 for grouse and rabbits?
That’s a common shot size, I like to use #4. With closer shots , I find you shred the meat or the animal if you use a smaller size. I always try to take head shots on Small Game, but with a shotgun nothing is perfect . Overtime I found 4 shot is a great , medium between enough pellets for a bit of forgiveness on bad aim, and enough to take a shot at any distance with confidence.
