    I grew up fishing out there, and I can tell you that about halfway down the jetty on the main ocean side, right behind where the wedge waves start forming, you can catch 5 pound calico bass. I throw 6 inch or 8 inch swim baits in the early morning and burn em fast right above the kelp beds

    Does tide affect the bite?

    • @anglertoanglerfishing6652
      @anglertoanglerfishing6652 22 дня назад

      @@e8_bill Hi there! Yes. The tide affects bite in several ways. When the tide is going from high to low, or vise versa, the fish will have a tendency to bite better. They like water movement, it stirs up the food. When the tide is at its highest or lowest point (check the tide chart for the day and time you are fishing) it seems to slow down the bite. Basically because the tide is maxed and the water stops running in or out. This usually lasts for half an hour on each side of the time of high and low tide. Also the bigger the tide change from high to low, or low to high will have the best fishing. Hope that helps!🙂

      Sorry I don't give directions to spots out of respect for others who fish there. It's not cool to do that. I hope you understand. It's in Huntington/Newport Beach area. Look at Google maps and you may be able to find it. That's the best help I can give. Thanks.🙂

      Also as a side note you can use the techniques I've shown in the video at pretty much any beach in socal. I usually surf fish anywhere from Sunset beach to Newport Beach depending on the conditions. 👍🙂

      Looks like possibly orange street. Off seashore. Could be wrong though. He did say Newport/river jetties.
