[osu!] The Battle for Freedom Dive

FrenZ396, the mapper of some well known maps such as mynarco or AniMA, has just submitted his freedom dive endless dimensions
Originally consisting of 1 diff and being too short to be ranked, it would take around a year for the mapset to be finished and eventually qualified on january 1st 2021. The first qualified map of 2021 in fact.
It would be ranked on the 13th. The top diff, being higher in star rating and giving more PP than the original fdfd, was hailed as much more difficult to fc nomod too. With an incredibly chokable ending which managed to snatch the fc away from multiple players right when they thought they had it.

Union is my favourite map in osu. And as such, obviously i wanna talk about it. Also, huge shoutout to Launch on youtube. He made a video covering some of the plays that ill be mentioning in this one. So go watch that video too if you want to. So here it is, the history of Union. Honesty is one of the most well known maps in osu! history, and while alot of people may just brush it off as a simple farm map, they would be absolutely right, completely and utterly correct, spot on, fully veracious, flawless logic. But while sidetracked day 2.0 may be a farm map, I think its got some pretty interesting history behind it and its kinda funny to just see how...
sad to see the map got deleted now.

Nice video. Just a bit of feedback would be that it would have been good to include the history of the song itself as well, as the idolm@ster is not a series well known to the West.
Thats actually a pretty neat idea. Ill take that into consideration if i ever make another one of these videos

I make them daily lmfao. I write the script the night before and then edit and upload the next morning lmao. Each vid takes like 5 or 6 hours usually
@@shayosu4718 holyyy. Hope ur faving fun with all of that, it'll definitely pay off. If you everrun out of maps (which im sure you wont for quite a while) I think it'd be interesting (probably more commitment though) to specifically focus on a mapper themselves. Just a little suggestion but ur channel ur descisions. Also if you don't mind me asking, how do you generally research each map?

Rektygons HR chokes: I didn't mention these plays in the video as I was mainly focusing on the series of nomod chokes, but ill add some info about it here. Rektygon started attempting endless dimensions with HR the day after the map was ranked. Getting an extremely unfortunate 1 miss with 1200 combo, which would have been 991pp if fc and a 4 miss with much better combo the day after, earning him 749pp. Its kind of crazy to think that a freedom dive 1k is genuinely possible, seeing as a 99.5% fc nets a little over 1k.

i personally think you made this video too early, because fgsky is learning it 4 mode rn so you should wait until he will do a good score on it and then do something
Ill most likely make another video solely about fgsky. I was planning on making it after he sets a good score on union as his 4 mod attempts have been insane recently. We'll see i suppose

You're probably right. If I remember correctly, back in 2019 they had a username with "fumiya" in it aswell. I assumed that the 3 stood for an E though, that's my bad. Thanks for informing me. Also yeah, I really like union. Not so much the mapping but I'm a fan of the hype moments it's made

Edit: literally 2 hours after this video, xootynator fced it. Pain. A couple plays that I missed and are worth noting: FGSky's 4 mod runs, Mrekks 3 mod runs and finally badeus ezhddt 1sb. More details for each play: Fgsky started attempting union with 4 mod and over the course of 3 days he managed to cut his miss count in half twice, going from a 41 miss to just a 12 miss. Mrekk has had some insane 3 mod runs on union recently, his best consisting of just 3 misses and acc good enough for a new pp record if fc. Badeu had a crazy run with ezhddt and managed to get out with just a sliderbreak at around 1500 combo. (ty to LukashFF for reminding me)
