4k looks about 20%-25% better,not wildly better.

Watched all 3 extended 4Ks last sunday. They look great! There are a few scenes, especially in part 2, that look a little bit soft and DNRed, but you don't see it too much in the moving picture, really! I was scared because I saw "bad" pictures before watching them, but they are by far not as bad as so many people tell. All these "2010 blu ray looks best" - guys probably just don't have a proper HDR TV to have a reason to upgrade. The 4Ks rock, especially because of the HDR. Awesome!

Is pretty funny and ironic how the worst movie of this quadrilogy worked better on the contrast and all the colored filters in comparison to the others.

Am I the only one who thinks the old DVD versions look way more superior... Seems like with the later realeases the color scheme got more and more poor and simplistic

Watching Interstellar in HDR is like watching another movie. And not in a good way. The whole „vibe“ and the imagery of the movie is just gone. Horrible.

Se tiver o SDR basta mudar as configurações de imagem da TV para uma que tem maior saturação e contraste. Dessa forma você obtém um resultado muito semelhante ao HDR, que nada mais é que um ajuste nos levels, contrast e saturation.😂

Not a huge Difference to be honest. The Colors of the HDR are a bit better, but that's basically it.

2013 is the worst one, it looks blurry, blown out highlights and washed out colors, it also seems to have a teal filter. 2019 UHD looks the best in terms of color and dinamic range, but it seems like the version with less DNR is the 2010 one.

Are you sure that the video shows HDR?! How can 4K look so bad here? Is it rly just so dark? That would be a reason for me to go with the 2011 BD because of the better sound then...

They all bring different feels to the movie, but it is still top tier. Anyone arguing they know the correct color grading over the DP and Cameron is delusional. Also, the theatrical color grading is not necessarily what was intended either. Compromises are always made. P.S. I prefer the blues, but love the definition of the 4K.

Only HDR makes it here. Else the 4K is absolute trash here. Much softer than the BD... What let's me keep the 4K is the sound-upgrade. So fucking sad and trashy that these idiots never make good new releases. Unbelieveable.

Looks to me like the original DVD or the 2015 bluray SDR is the one to get. Everything else looks horribly AI ruined.

For whatever reason my HP4 bluray disc skips considerably making the film impossible to watch. I remember as a kid I had the same exact issue with the DVD back in 2005/2006.

Except for some shots with good highlights, the SDR version looks much better. Not a good HDR here...

The 2010 Blu Ray releases of Karate Kid I & II, as well as the 2019 Blu-Ray double pack of Karate Kid III & Next Karate Kid are terrible (and Karate Kid III in this release is just a repackage of the 2007 Blu Ray if I’m not mistaken) are all terrible. The sound mixing is imbalanced and the colors are way off. Literally all other home video releases of these movies are better than the Blu-Rays I listed.

Just finished watching the entire 2020 version, and I have to say, it is my absolute favorite.

I'd probably go with the 2015 blu ray, some shots look better in 4k but most look better in the previously mentioned blu ray.

I find it interesting how everyone seem to brag about 4K today, when the real improvements in quality with any UHD release is about HDR grading rather than resolution. The SDR release here is of course pretty solid in itself, but it’s interesting to see how well the HDR master seems to preserve the 35mm film look. Too bad the UHD Blu-Ray is just an upscale from the 2K DI master. Kind of makes you wish for HDR releases at regular 1080p.

I recently got this and although not as bad as the representation of this video, it certainly doesn't compare to the color pop in the blu ray. Though the blu ray has way too much noise/ film grain One hack is if you have a tv with a color boost setting, switch that on, then if your 4k blu ray player has HDR setting adjustment, set it brighter to your liking. I have a smasung OLED 4k tv and a Panasonic 4k blu ray player and although it is a few more steps than what I need to take, it definitely makes the picture look like it should in 4k. I've also had to do the same thing with the original star wars movies, but just only using the color booster setting. Hope this helps

2015 blu ray is probably the closest to a great HI DEF image

2010 bluray may be the way i like the colors sentimentally, but when i play the 4k version with the cinema setting on my tv (as one always should with movies) and increase tv saturation by turning the color up from 40 to 50 percent the colors look good and warm. In many ways the 4k is superior because of Dolby Vision HDR and Atmos for sound.

Right way to compare SDR with HDR is actually recording the TV or monitor itself with a good camera and then comparing side by side
