Murramarang South Coast Walk
If you're curious about this walk, go and do it. The new track work is brilliant. We walked from Pretty Beach to South Durras, about 18km.

Mabel is Jack's sister, reunited by happenstance. She slept over last night and consented to walk with us to the beach this morning.
2023 Team R Weekend

Some BEAUTIFUL people came and warmed up our new place at the coast. We rewarded their kindness with an AWESOME train/bike ride through the Royal National Park, then forced them to drink some revolting Scandinavian moonshine, and walked the HARD CORE trek to the Figure 8 Pools.
Windy walk to the beach
Просмотров 88Год назад
After years of GoPro-ing I lashed out and bought a grown-up camera. The dogs and I took it to the beach on an incredibly windy walk. Along the way we were joined by flying foxes and some vintage motor bikers. My favourite Queenstown adventure is free
Просмотров 77Год назад
This contains a small number of tips and a lot of reasons to walk up Ben Lomond. If you find yourself in Queenstown on a sunny day, this is a must. Fergburger is going to set you back a pretty penny, but this adventure is/can be absolutely free. You can wimp out and pay for the Gondola ride up the first bit like I did, but if you take the Tiki Trail you can get there and back for NZ$0.

Trump is weak
That's so cool.
Thanks for posting Ian! Looks like a you all had an awesome trip. Excellent editing and story telling and now my wife is keen to do this as well. Good job mate 👍
Cheers Heath 👍
I love your video! ❤ We’re hoping to this trail next year. 😊 Very inspirational for us. And I really love your 3D maps you use to show your route. How did you make these overviews? Would love to learn from you 🙏🏼 Kind regards from The Netherlands!
Thanks and good luck on your trip. I’m sure you’ll love it. I used Google Earth Studio for the map overviews. It allows you to import a path. There’s an even better animated path that I put in my best Queenstown adventure video. But it’s so much work I don’t think I’ll do that again.
This is awesome!!!!!!
Good to see Mt Cook lived up to its Maori name, Cloud Piercer.
Great work Ian very well put together - looks like you guys had a great time
So lovely. Love those doggies. And you
I am planning on doing this ride with my daughter so this is a really helpful video...thanks! We will be starting at the very beginning of October so I am a little worried about the weather but it looks pretty nice for you until day 6! What dates in October did you ride? How cold was it in the mornings and during the day?
Hope it’s a great ride for you and your daughter. We rode in the first week of October. It was chilly in the mornings, but warmed up pretty quickly. It wasn’t one of those winter rides where you can’t feel fingers and toes. I only used my warmest gear on the last day when it was super windy.
Love this video mate! Keep up the good work.
Round route? Queenstown - Arrowtown - Queenstown? How long it takes? 8 hours?
A lovely film Ian... it brought back great memories of my ride there in February 2020. The cliffside path wasn't open then and that looks to be a great improvement!
I loved your video and well documented journey. I'm going in 6 weeks and wanted to ask if you think doing it over 3 days is doable. I ride and know I can ride 100km a day on roads. I am wondering if you could give me some advice. I'm thinking of riding it in these stages - Day 1: Lake Tekapo to Lake Ohau - 93km and easy (I read on the webstie). Day 2 Ohau Lodge to either Otematata or Kurow - this would be a 144km ride (with easy and intermediate riding guide) - I am wondering what you think since you have riden this section and know what the intermediate guide would entail. Day 3 Kurow to Omaru - 81km easy/intermediate. I am short on time hence thinking of this. Could you give me any advice on if you believe it is doable? Thanks Maria
Hey Maria. Thanks! Day 1 and 3 sound doable. Day 2 will be a big day, with favourable winds along lake Aviemore you should be able to get in lateish to Kurow. The gravel and single track sections will slow you down a bit, but it sounds like you’re up for the challenge. Best of luck with the weather. Let us know how you go.
We rode the A2O back in 2018, 5 days, third day we did Lake Ohau to Otematata, but about 70km, not 144km I think However looking back we all thought it would have been better to take longer and stop at Omarama. You miss a fair bit if you just rush thru
Its not a race. The more time you can spend on the trial the better to take in all the wonderful scenery and experiences, after all thats what it is all about.
Day 1: Lake Tekapo to Lake Ohau - 93km - check if the weir is open. If not the shuttle bus around to the weir is required. Still an easy day. Day 2 - for you will be limited speed from where the track goes into the hills, until passed Benmore.
well put together vid well done ian. mike from cycle journeys enjoyed the vid 🙂
Fantastic vid. Thanks for posting it. We plan to ride early January 2023. So looking forward to it after seeing what's in store for us! :-)
Hope you have a great trip. Cheers for the feedback.
Great video Ian, well done, and thanks for sharing. Looks like you were there in spring ?
Yes. We left on the 1st of October.
Was this the half guzzler 50k?
Hi, would you be kind enough to tell me where do you find the that cave like or overhang at 1:28”? Thanking you
Great vid Was this a professional guided walk or just a group that got together? My trip last year was cancelled as we were boarding plane in Brisbane as Tassie closed.
It was a professional guided walk. We were originally booked in March 2020 and the Tas PM closed the borders 2 days before we left. Bit rough to be canned at the airport though! Hope you get to go soon.
@@ianlimn yeah. Our bags were onboard and the staff came to us and said if we go they can’t guarantee a flight home. It was unit 2 days after that they shut the track anyway. We will get back one day. What sucks was Virgin never refunded. Everyone else did.
Nice work once again Ian, fantastic tune.
Love this video thank you!
Loved watching this and reliving. Well done to everyone in it and thanks for making it
Absolutely Brilliant! Well done to you all.
Thats very cool, especially the bit where we go lost and had to double back. I can even picture the creek crossing!
Ahh ha ha, you card! Nice one bro
