I could never understand how to play this game. I've had several people try to explain it, but I don't get it. This game ain't for me.

I always prided myself on being able to expert in 90-120 seconds but this is insane.

man i just started playing and the rules seemed incredibly tedious. I am learning however, my win ratio is elevating (easy mode) I'm still trying to figure some things out but this game is so much fun.

Ok so I’m not the only one this happens to

For years I played the Expert grid (16x30) with 150 mines (32% bombs). I got it to 148 found bombs twice and died both times on the 50/50 guess I had to make on the last four squares. Since newer versions of Windows does not include Minesweeper anymore, I haven't played for a while. Plus, I found better things to do with my time.

Have I been playing it wrong? Do you have to start in a corner, or is it just a good tactic for some reason?

But this, I mean there is no skill involved here is there? Its really just a matter of patience and expecting that you will eventually get lucky, because you can only fail so many times. So it doesn't really matter how high the difficulty goes, it simply depends how long you're willing to wait. I'm not sure what the purpose of that is really. I think timed minesweeper makes a little more sense. Also I simply don't believe that anyone can solve it that fast you sped up the recording right? If not you're some sort of superhuman :P

Is there some kind of rule when setting records that you can't use flags/utilise the auto-clear? Obviously it makes things faster but in theory it doesn't reveal any information that wasn't already available to the user

A: this is not difficult. There are no 8s and only one 7 that I saw. B: solve your unknowns 50/50s and other unknowns earlier. Why do 10 minutes of work just to revisit a hanging 50/50. I must be missing something

Thanks for the video. I enjoy the game and I am slowly working my way to intermediate level so I can not imagine the level of difficulty for you to do what you did.

always mind-blowing that people keep playing games that can be solved by a program like Mine Sweeper or Sudoku. Assembling 1000 pieces puzzle is already weird. but playing something a computer can simply solve in 5 ms is stupid. There is nothing like a diffult Mine Sweeper or Sudoku game. It is trivial. A couple of lines of computer code can solve it. Believe it. Other games have been PROVEN to be not winnable like mill game or tik-tak-toe. But hey it is your life time you are waisting.

I know the feeling bro.. don't save the guesses for last, just blast them out. Coming back to it just means wasted effort on the rest of the board if you guess wrong.
