Selling everything I owned to live on a sailboat was a decision that changed the course of my life. I'm Angela, and my obsession with crafting and a burning desire to share my journey and skills with the world led me to this unconventional path. Living on a sailboat has not only allowed me to immerse myself in the beauty of the open waters but also provided the perfect backdrop for my creative endeavours. From the confines of my floating home, I weave intricate macramé, sculpt art from driftwood, and create jewellery inspired by the treasures of the sea. Each thing I craft is not just an artistic expression but a piece of my heart shared with the world. Through my adventures and creations, I've discovered a profound sense of fulfilment, and I'm dedicated to sharing this love for crafting and the sea with all who are willing to follow along on my extraordinary journey.

I used to do this as a kid at my grandma's! So fun!
Nice! Really cool. Thank you.
hi thank you for sharing!! what a unique account, i just found you! i think if you crochet with looser tension, it will be easier on your hands & you won’t have to pull your hook so hard through every loop. i did this too when i started :)
good for feminine clothes if you’re a guy and have conservative parents
Definitely 😁 although you might need to make a teddy bear double the size to fit any decent dresses in there.
Do you sell these butterfly wings?
Hi unfortunately not :) they are hard to come by.
What mm of gimp wire did you use here?
I’m not sure sorry, I have so much I never need to order it. It’s not large, my guess is .8 to 1mm
Peaceful viewing 😊
Glad you liked it :)
❤❤, Can I do this with the entire butterfly instead of just the wings??
I don’t see why not if the butterfly is dry ❤️ If it has moisture I’d let it dry out first. And of course only if you found it already deceased.
Hi I just found your channel :) love your Bear. however wanted to know can you sew it by machine?. thank you for sharing and the free pattern.
Hi welcome to my channel! Thanks! I’m glad you love the bear. I’m about to start making more 😍 you can sew it by machine, but I find it difficult depending on the thickness of the pile of the fur. I think if you want to do it by machine try very loosely stitching it by hand first as when you just go straight to the machine it wants to pull and warp the material and you’ll end up with pieces that don’t match up which creates twisted legs. I taught my husband how to make one for his daughter and he sewed his by machine but I thought it looked painful 🥴
@@OffGridArtist thank you so much. I have an industrial sewing machine so will give it a go 🥰
@@dulceteixeira9097 good luck!
OMG!!! You are a time and life saver! I’m looking all over the web on how to enlarge my drawing onto canvas and came up with a bunch of complicated NOT helpful tools or super expensive projectors, and you explained just what and HOW(the important part) to do this!!! MANY THANKS From New Jersey USA. xo
Thank you so much for commenting and I’m really glad it was helpful! 😍. I really believe in trying to add value to life and if I can help others than I’ve achieved something. All the best!

Thank you that means a lot that you took the time to comment ❤️😍
I’m doing a drawing similar to yours in pencil! Ty for the inspo! ❤
My pleasure 😍 I would love to see your art! Feel free to message me on insta @off_grid_artist. I was lucky enough to swim with two just like this when I was younger. I lived in Tasmania near the beach 😍
Thank you
Thanks for your comment! I’m happy it helped
the tutorial was perfectly fine❤ I'm doing a sea-themed wall project so your corals and polyps videos are perfectly helpful for a beginner like me. Actually, amazing that you can video that well on a boat!😮😅 Thanks😊
Thank you so much for your kind comment 😍. I would love to sea your sea themed wall project! I’m about to get evicted from my craft studio for 2 months due to guests so I’ll be focusing on crochet as it’s small and I can do it with 6 people on the boat without taking up too much space. I have a few really great ideas, been snorkelling a lot and getting so much inspiration 😍
You are very new to crochet the tutorial was poor come back in a few years when you can do a lot better
Thanks for your comment. Sorry you didn’t enjoy the tutorial. I fully realise I’m a beginner and I hope by sharing my journey other beginners may not be as daunted by the learning curve as I was. I intend on finishing my coral project and I think in the end it will look great. I’m really excited about sharing each new technique I learn. My videos aren’t about perfection. They’re about the joy of creativity.
You are very rude!!
Thanks Angela.. 😊
My pleasure 😁 it’s my new hobby. I love seeing who likes being infront of the camera when I go through the footage afterwards
Nice video. I have a metal silhouette that want to enlarge and transfer onto wood. This looks like it will work. My sign is 5x10 and plan to use your example and transfer it onto craft paper and make a template. Thank you for your video. My other option is to take a photo of it on a white background and then mirror my computer with my 60" flat screen television and taping velum paper to the screen and trace it. We will see which option works for me. Thanks again.
Gooodluck! Would love to Know which technique works best for you!
@@OffGridArtist I just tried the screen mirroring option and it looks like it is going to be the route a take. Now just need to get the velum paper and carbon transfer paper and will be good to go. Your idea was great but I needed to go bigger.
@@PlanB-Idahoglad you found a way that works for you
Great tutorial, I glue the bolt and washer to the wooden disc before inserting
Thanks for your tip Marcy 😍 great idea!
Just love this mesmerising peek at the many different gentlefish that go about their lives on the reef. ❤ thanks for posting!
I’m in love with it too 😍 I could swim for days
@@OffGridArtist looks like the perfect place to do it. I thought there would be more fish groups but it’s more like assorted individuals.
@@GoodieWhiteHatthey seem to often travel in pairs. Especially the butterfly fish. Alex considered eating the gold spotted sweetlip but I’m glad we didn’t as we didn’t realise it had a partner. I’d like to know more about whether fish mate for life. Can’t stand the idea of eating someone’s life partner 😳
@@OffGridArtist some do. Even some lizards do. I think it’s like a lot of birds and us as well where they are monogamous but there are strong bonds that can weaken and break but if they find a compatible partner they will stay together. Fish have more capacity for companionship and trust than we would like to credit them for (maybe that’s convenient on our part). I love the cleaner wrass and shrimp and the relationships they have with their sharks or rays or other large customers.
So pretty! We live in such a beautiful place 🫶🏼
I know! We’re sooo lucky 😍
I love mine, a great friend made it.
Nawww 😍😍😍😍
So amazing! Thanks for sharing this footage with the world ❤️ this is a reminder of what we are all protecting, every time we consume less.
Absolutely 💯 right ❤️❤️❤️❤️🪸🐳🪸
Just a magic experience to be able to see the reef first hand, but this is the next best thing!
This looks awsome !!
Thanks for commenting! I’ll be adding many more 😍 I just posted a video you might love of a place called little black reef. I am going to start filming like this more. It was such a surprise to look back on the footage because I dive down, drop my camera and then come back for it 😍 so much inspiration!
Why does the pattern on your website instruct to cut 4 heads...X2 reverse? the video is only showing 2 heads
Sorry if this wasn’t explained in the video, because I didn’t have the space, I had to cut the pattern of the head in half. If you sticky tape them together it will make sense in the end. I hope this helps! 😁
not everyone can do this!
Why did you not do it all the way down? Instead of starting aging at the other end? What are those little silver things that loop by the clasp?
To have a strong row of knots I like to leave a few pearls off at the end, what this does when you add them back on is it allows you to go through and then come back and knot back towards the beginning. Think of the end of the bracelet and only having one knot at the very end instead of 4 through pearls. It is much less likely to come undone with the 4. The silver things are called Gimp wire, it tightens and protects the thread to make it stronger also :). Good luck and I hope this helps!
That is awesome! im planning to do this but before i do can i wash your bleached t shirt like other t shirts? I hope it wont also fade away
Hi thanks for your question! The colour all depends on the dye in the tshirt, it might fade like normal, but all tshirts do that especially in the sun. Have you ever noticed you created a line when you left a tshirt hanging too long in the sun? That’s the fading I’m talking about. The design should still be there as it’s already been bleached.
Goodluck! Would love to see how it turns out! Message me on insta 😁

We love this! Thank you. We're moving to our boat and were going to have to part with loads of our clothes. At least now, I can have a few of my favorite ones reused as fender covers. Thank you, Angela 💚
So happy to have inspired you 😍😍 enjoy living on your boat! Where are you located? We’re currently in the Whitsundays and the fenders have held up well for a year so far. But we don’t visit marinas often.
@@OffGridArtist We’ll also not be visiting marinas too often either. We’re in Dubai.
@@OffGridArtist We are located in Dubai and will, hopefully, not visit marinas often either.
Hiya! I love thé look of this! So is it two single crochets in each hole all the way round or does it start out 1 sc in each hole on the first round then 2sc in each hole on the second round then 3sc in each hole on the third round and so on?
Hi! Glad you love it I have many more coming! (Just released my coral polyps) this hyperbolic one is 2 single crochets in each hole all the way. I originally set out to make a tiny whale. 🐳 haha obviously I’m still learning but in experimenting I’m coming up with some cool ideas! One day I’ll stitch them all together on a wall hanging.
What size thread are you using for this video please
Thanks for watching, it’s been a long time since I made this video but I think it might have been size 6. Good luck with your stringing!
@@OffGridArtistI have bought several spools of silk thread that the sizes are in letter numbers, could you tell me what size 6 would be, example, E,F,FF,FFF. Thank you
@@sissyflores719 I have just found this great website that has all the information I think you’ll need. It looks like what you have might be thinner but also very strong. The FFF looks like the closest and if you look at the tensile strength the FFF looks even stronger than 6 even though it’s nearly half the thickness, I hope this helps.

Oh yay! I wish you the best of luck! Great thing is you can make it as large or little as you like so it can fit in smalls spaces like boats and make Christmas special without being bulky 😍
Plus it’s fully recyclable 😂

Ty so much 😭
My pleasure 😍 thanks for commenting!
Would it had made I easier for the thread to be worked if you had used he bee’s wax, I saw you had it with the tools you needed to use
Yes beeswax definitely helps. It lubricates the pearls and helps them slide if they are tight. Good luck!
