Zo ontstond ruim honderd jaar geleden een heel nieuwe stijl: blues. Daarbij wordt gezongen, maar ook op instrumenten gespeeld, zoals (elektrische) gitaar, piano en saxofoon. In de bluesmuziek gaat het vaak over het leven van alledag, en dan vooral de verdrietige gebeurtenissen.
