Welcome to the TPG channel!. Thanks for clicking on one of our videos/posts and ending up here!. I started this channel a couple years ago in 2019 when my wife got me my first second generation DSM. I had been looking for one for quite a few years and FINALLY picked one up!. Since the channels infancy we have modified this DSM, performed a lot of maintenance, and documented it all for other DSM'ers like YOU!. Hopefully you find the channel helpful or at least entertaining. Sure some of the projects I've taken on haven't ended up going as smoothly as the could have. Life's a learning experience, if I mess it up the first time, I learn and try to fix it. After all it's just a big box of nuts and bolts right?. Anyways THANK YOU for joining the fun/learning/trial and error that is on display here!. I love chatting with all of you so reach out anytime. Email me at TODAYSPROJECTGUIDE@GMAIL.COM or Check out our merch store www.TodaysProjectGuide.com. Happy wrenching. See you all again soon!
COMPANY WANTED TO UPGRADE MY FUEL LINES AND I SAID YES!!! CHECK OUT....
Hi everyone!
This video came out of left field. A company called GSTPAUTOPARTS.COM reached out to me and wanted me to upgrade my wildly unsafe stock and aftermarket fuel line kit that I rigged together. The results speak for themselves. They sent me a great kit including all of the hose and fittings that I could need while upgrading the stock system under the hood. Before I used some of the OEM stuff and added my own installed fuel pressure regulator with cuts and clamps and barb fittings. Hell... even a macaroni noodle ;D
Now that we have yet another channel partner who offers alcohol safe AN fuel line systems, ,why not check it out and install it on your ride?.

Hi so what happen to the factory return line on the feul rail
@@whurnerheyns717 it connects to the bottom of the new regulator
how much for this job?
@@alexiscastro5055 they paid me $500
@@TPGDSM damn, that’s more affordable than I thought it would be. I need to get mine replaced and I’ve been researching it.
They found some bones up there earlier this year after they demolished an old building in the Lake George Village. Crazy stuff.
@@MindBlowin03 yeah I heard. Lots of interesting stuff happening in the adk area these days
Low key the most helpful video ever
@@TheBeanManFR glad it helped ya!💪
Looking good! Keep up the awesome work🔥
I used the Amazon special fuel lines. Payed out of my own pocket. So can't be biased. No issues here. Same crap people. Just buy what you can afford and call it a day
That banjo is a big restriction on dsm fuel systems. You can get an m12x1.25 to a 6an male fitting, and then you can eliminate that banjo! And then you can use a 90 degree fitting to get to the rail. I show this in my fuel troubleshooting video if you want to check it out! Miss seeing your updates, glad you’re getting sponsors though congrats!
My thoughts exactly
Thanks for the info. I’m replacing all the lines and will add that to the list 👍👍
Man you REALLY need to clean up this diy, you switch up things towards the middle to end of the video with really focusing on what you switched
@@eddyspaghetti90_ sorry was newer to editing. A couple years back we got into it and made some mistakes. Hopefully future content makes more sense for you. Appreciate the constructive criticism though.
And I genuinely meant NO disrespect btw @@TPGDSM
Dude, I have been following you for a while. Can I send you my DSM valve cover for some aluminum welding. It cracked 😢. I live in the Hudson Valley NY area. Let me know. Of course I would pay you. Thanks.
They’re a pain to weld due to the oil soaking inside em. I’d be glad to though. Shoot me an email todaysprojectguide@gmail.com
what pin on relay was power and what was the pin on relay for the blue/black wire that was cut, left. right pump side was pin 30 ground was 86.

@@TPGDSM thankyou I have had my walbro 255 for over 4 years in a box going to install and do the relay too
Can i run 30-0334?
You can run whatever wideband is compatible with ecmlink
I SAW ON YOUR PRIOR VIDEO YOU PUT THE SOLID REAR DIFF MOUNTS IN THE REAR DIFF. HOW IS THE NOISE, VIBRATION, HARSHNESS.? DID IT ALL LINE UP LIKE IT SHOULD. THANKS FOR AND INPUT.
@@turbo4g639 worked out great with no issues. Go for it if you want to
Hey dude, question. I got a duralast gold ALT and installed but i can’t figure out the ground cable, people say the Alt case is grounded when you bolt it in, but i also have what seems the be a metal bracket that goes into the ground post on the ALT. The old one did not have ground connected
@@Hater4life814 iirc the cable for positive side goes on the spot with the nut and cover, plug goes in and it’s all set
I'm interested 👍🏾
I installed the Maxpeedingrod coilovers 4 years ago, and I've never liked them. Since I will be changing them out, I might go with this setup. After 3 years, are you still using the KYBs? If so, how are they holding up? Also, thank you for the video!
@@gsxdude the Max brand was fun for a cheap drop but mine died within a year or more. Loving the kyb set up. My buddy had a different brand drop spring he got off exptremepsi and my car rides smoother with Amazon lowering springs and kyb’s
Good video, but pulling the pump fuse is much simpler than pulling the back seat and unplugging the pump.
That is the dumbest location for the downstream 02 sensor😂
@@fabianavila3755 agreed
Great explanation, thanks man
Do you have GM Maf cable or speed density cable?
Ecmlink gm maf breakout cable
I was unaware that would be an issue with rolling anti-lag and NLTS. I'd be interested in picking up a kit (not right at this moment). Any idea how much it'd cost to ship to Canada? More specifically Quebec..
Last I checked it was around $15 to ship internationally to Canada and Mexico. Not to terrible
Yoo good to see u again. Man that resonator looks beautiful 👀 can’t wait for the install! Thanks for sharing!
where is the flex section for the down pipe ?
@@louiscongionti2394 that’s one of The last two pieces arriving soon. Along with the 2 bolt 3in flange.
Thanks for sharing this.👍 I got a 92 laser and am going to be redoing the turbo back exhaust soon hopefully lol. Really want to do it in stainless. Was even considering aluminum for the cat-back portion.
Glad you found it useful. I’ll keep uploading the project progress. Coming up next will be the welding fun and fab 💪
Think the oil is left over from the bending process.
@@Shademax4273 sounds about right. I’ve seen it on brake rotors and other stuff. Shouldn’t be a problem to clean up for welding👍
Bro you kiiiiiiled it!
Congrats on the sponsor!!
Very cool
Nice work my friend!!! 🤘🤘🤘

You're amazing man. Thank you. I will never complain at more videos of you using and teaching us ECMLink. A new and updated video would be awesome where you discuss what you have learned, what changes you have made, and what advice you can give us on how to further tune. You said you're new, so there may be a chance where you have learned something and it would be beneficial to share to prevent risk of blowing an engine lol. Thanks again man
Hey how do I bleed the master break cylinder before I bleed my breaks
@@ChrisSemel you can add some fluid to it once you install it on the car. Press the pedal in and attach a small vac hose to the feed side. Or pour a small amount of fluid in it. Not really a necessary step since you’ll be bleeding each corner after that. The air will work its way out during that process. I like to install everything and start from the passenger rear, crack the bleeder open and let it “gravity bleed” out the rears first. Then do the pump-hold-crack bleeder- tighten and repeat until all 4 are solid fluid with no air bubbles and the pedal feels stiff.
Think it would work on a 1g DSm?
@@Shademax4273 it should. Just splice it in and let it work
Nice innovation👍
I want to see it working. Interested
Good idea. I'm interested
I'm not personally interested in that right now but I think it's a great idea. That's extremely affordable for someone to purchase from you.
@@MindBlowin03 it’s pretty straightforward. I have some nice switches, wiring included and some small instructions that come with. I’ll end up posting more once it’s finalized. I’ve been playing with this for a few weeks now. Works great. Just a pain getting to that switch under the pedal
@@TPGDSM agreed. That switch is a bear to get to. I don't miss messing with that at all.
I dun goofed... I took off everything on that intercooler pipe... Guess I need a gasket now
Thank you for proposing the heating iron to loosen the brass fitting - I was in a small panic, but the tip of my hot glue gun worked it out
I see that you are not using a MAF. Are you using Speed Density? And if so, which ECU are you using?
Ecmlink v3 eprom ecu from a 1995 gsx gst or talon. Running speed density. Omni 3 bar map and gm iat sensor plugged into the Ecmlink maf breakout cable
@@TPGDSM :( I am using a blackbox ECU and programming with ECUFlash, and I want to switch to Speed Density, but I have no idea how to do it, hahaha.
@@Doneclikse with ecu flash and ceddymods im pretty positive you’ll need to cut the maf harness and add a soldered gm intake air temp sensor to the baro wires in that connector, then get a gm map sensor and solder that into the MDP sensor harness at the top of the intake manifold. Then you have to download and flash the ceddymods sd patch to the ecu. That will map out the ecu so it looks for the iat signal on the baro output from the maf harness and again, look for map signal from the mdp harness output. Some googling will definitely help out with this. Sorry I’m not able to specify further.
Nice to see it’s back!! Loved the progress! It sounds so effing good👀
Thank you🙏
Great videos! Really helpful specially since its sonhard finding a reliable tuner. I love the vents in the bumper! Where did you get those?
Thanks!. eBay actually. Less than $100 shipped
I’m currently trying to do this job as well. It looks like you have two power cables going to one terminal on the fuse block. I’m assuming one is factory positive cable and the other maybe alternator stuff? Not really sure. Did you also hook up the new 4 gauge power wire to the other terminal on the fuse block? Hopefully this comment reaches you!
Hey there, I added the 4 white wrapped wires for the charging system to one lug with + power and the ground to fuse box and any other grounds to the other side. It’s an inline breaker or safety to kill power from any over voltages
@@TPGDSM So since it’s inline, did you just connect the new 4 gauge power wire on the opposite side of the fuse block from the factory power wires?
@@edmundstyson2755 yes. The battery wire from the trunk feeds upfront through the rubber boot on the passenger side firewall behind the fuse box, that thick red wire feeds into the right side of the breaker, and the lug on the left of it gets all of the alternator, starter wires and anything else i added in that needs power. I also put an inline fuse in the trunk about 12in from the positive post on the battery to fend off any chance of something melting and burning my car to the ground
@@edmundstyson2755 I also really like the breaker under the hood. You can use it as a secondary kill switch if you want the added layer of protection
@@TPGDSM Well I appreciate the help. The previous owner did some weird stuff with some of the wiring coming off of the fuse box so I’m trying to sort that out. Hopefully I figure it out so I can finish this trunk mount!
Looking great. Love watching the progress. I'll be up your way in July vacationing at Lake George.
Awesome!. Hmu when you pass through I’m 15mins away
I thought those were such nice cars. I can say that I haven't seen one on the road in atleast a couple years
I’ve seen two in my town. One is a rotted out 1g and the second is a non turbo gs model. Few and far between these days. Thanks for watching 👍
This car is the definition of a haggard 2g and what gives them a bad rep..MAF on the pressure side? Electrical taped connectors..jamming wire into a fuse, and then running a cut through a steering column boot..really?
Early cheaply done stuff. Fortunately for me I learned more and more and modified my previous mods to an old rusty quarter million plus mile car on the tightest budget and second hand pieces and parts to get it to work pretty well. Haggard 2G is better than one forgotten and crushed. Appreciate your observations and remember, everyone starts messing around somewhere. This could have been an old Acura, second gen Wrx, or even an old vw Gti. These old vids up to more current helped some folks and also have made some laugh. I’ll keep sharing regardless because at the end of the day I enjoy my old second gen.
Are those R1 concept rotors and brakes how they hold up
Not sure tbh. Think they’re stock. They were ok for the first long run of miles. Only swapped em bc they were toast.
If the IAT sensor tip isn't in the direct air stream will it negatively impact the sensors ability to read? In other words: my welder welded a bung that's slightly longer than the one you show and the GM IAT sensor tip is recessed in the hole. Do you think it'll be a problem?
Mine barely pokes into the air stream. I think since it’s pressurized it shouldn’t matter. As long as air can get to it I’d bet you’ll be fine
I've got the same thing got an engineer at work to weld a bung on my intake pipe cause the one that came with sensor was alloy and pipe is steel. It barely pokes out I was worried but I'll see how I get on and report back
@@AstleTruscott thank you, please do!
I had a black canister underneath my tray. Where is yours at? I have a 97 GST.
Mine was inside the driver engine bay. Gsx n Gst got em in different places
Also, does the antilag start as soon as you hit the button or is it locked to only an rpm you set AND the button
It’s set to rpm, throttle position, and speed
Thats dope. I didnt hear any pops and bangs though. Does that all depend on ALS settings?
Yeah, you can set it up however you want. If you add timing and fuel it gets way more aggressive. All about preference. I like mine set to a “calm” load point with these old stock internals
