26th Annual Air Venture Cup Race

We are at the finish line of the 400 mile Air Venture Cup Race that starts in Wausau WI and ends in Merrill WI. There are 80 participants in several different class depending on house power and speed. Hope you enjoy.

. Considering I was thinking about running for mayor I had so many ideas that I've told nobody but I will I had so many ideas that I've told nobody but I will tell the world right now that even if it's winter we need to capitalize on that.. That means That means heaven snowmobile races Or Well I'm not gonna say anymore. The way I see it Nobody in this town and I mean nobody wants to do anything
. I have a friend Dad wants to open up 2 very very good businesses And decided all because of Darren, And the rest of the town that does pure harassment As they do not like anybody from outside of their community to get involved That means even living here and I can tell you that for a fact because I live in this town.. I do not blame him for not wanting to open up these 2 maybe 3 businesses Because of just that fact that You can Have total harassment at any given moment .
I moved here in 2000 from Cheyenne Wyoming and found Merrill to be very friendly. I'm sorry he found it to be difficult. We need different business here. Some may be worried that if the town grows it will lose the small town fill but the reality is if the town doesn't grow it will die.

Thinking of moving near there how is the town currently(crime, immigrants, businesses, jobs etc)?
Merrill is has a small town fell. I lesson to the safety and first responder frequency - police, fire , and they are quite a lot of the time. We do have a moderate drug problem but other than that it's a quiet town.
That’s where I live
The middle school was the high school when I went there. I spent many atime eating my lunch in Stange park or visiting the library. The park was flooded most springs.
And it is still that way most spring.

Yes we do have a roundabout. It was put in 5 or 6 year ago. We had 3 stop lights now we only have 2
I lived in Merrill when I was a little girl. I'm 75 now. I've never been back. But, oh my, this park is a cherished memory! My father was Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce in Merrill when I was about 5 or 6, and he did advertising for local businesses on the side. One of his clients was The US Fur Rancher's magazine-local edition. I used to go with my dad when he did individual ads for the ranchers because the minks were so fascinating to watch. The farmers liked me. I guess they thought I was cute. (I wasn't). But they decided I would make the perfect model for the publication's front cover, (My father promoted it, of course). So they took me to the park, dressed me up in 'big lady' clothes, and put a dead fox fur (with big teeth) around my neck! I was TERRIFIED! At that time the bridge was just made out of planks with spaces in between, and the water under the bridge was wild and furious. WORST of all, There were killer dragon flies EVERYWHERE! Really BIG ones! It took the photographers over an hour to calm me down enough just to get me to stand on the bridge, and another half an hour to get me to stop crying long enough to get a decent picture. One that would work for the front cover. And the rest, as they say, is history. Thanks for doing the Merrill thing. Still l looks like a nice place to raise kids.
I Loved that story. It is one of the best towns to live in. It has the small town fill. I lived in Denver for several years and found the big city life wasn't for my wife and I so we love the small town of Merrill for us.
Can't wait until someday they build another high-rise
