My one-day flight to Wellington from Auckland for the renewal of my passport. 24 Sept 2024. NZ
Nothing of the renewal of my passport is in this video. Was not allowed to make a video or take photos of it. My passport cannot be renewed in Auckland where I live. It is only done in Wellington. I'm a resident of New Zealand but still have to use my South African Passport to travel. My appointment was only at 11h30 mid-day and my flight back home was only at 9pm. So, before and after my appointment I had plenty of time on my hands to fill in. It's all in my video. Thank you for watching. If you've subscribed to my channel, THANK you. If you're new to my channel, please subscribe and help me grow my channel. It will help me a lot. Where I travel, comes out of my own pocket. I do not get ...

It took me a minute to realise you are back in Browns Bay, the weather looks really nice for early September, today is exactly 51 years since I returned to Auckland as a 17-year-old, as you know I have since moved back to England but until my wife health took a turn for the worse we used to spend time in Browns Bay on holiday at my cousin Sues house in Wilkinson Way. I'm still hoping she gets a transplant so we can come out again and I can have a pint in Speakers corner..
@pillred5974 lol........yes I'm back. Sorry to hear about your wife. Wish your wishes come true soon and your wife a happy healthy life. Thank you so much for stopping by
Glad you enjoyed my homeland. I stayed at the Aquarius back in 2020 and that tall building was still being build. I’ll be back in April 2025. Bula ❤️🇫🇯

Hi, nice video :) which boat did you take?
@58vadsan Thank you for stopping by. When you get to the harbor.....you ask for the boat going to Gili Air or Gili Trawagan or back to Kuta. Depends on where you want to go. They will tell and show you which boat is going where and at what time it leaves and how long it will take to get to your destination 😉. That's what we did. You can even ask at the place where you stay. Most of them know. I wish you happy traveling 🙂
Plan to visit in March 2025😊

Did you feel a little homesick catching sight of the windmill? it must feel a little strange for you, I'm not sure how long it has been since you left the Netherlands, it looked cold Dave. August is never the warmest of months for you, it's a pleasant 23 degrees here in Somerset, and spring is on its way for you soon.
@pillred5974 Lol...... yes.....very much.
nice ❤
@@LifestylebyOnChannel Thank you 😊

@@JimReid-cb8lx I was super surprised when stepped inside. Thank you so much for stopping by. ☺️
Don't want to make you jealous Dave but it's 30 degrees here in England today, where I live in Somerset in the SW of England it hardly ever snows we never had any at all the last 3 winters, coming from Auckland it must be a real novelty to see snow, you are certainly getting about in South Island, are you looking forward to getting back to Sub tropical Browns bay? it's a balmy 16 degrees from what I can see.
@pillred5974 lol......nice hearing from you. The snow was not that cold as it is in Gore further South. I enjoyed the snow cause I haven't been in snow since my childhood years. Loved it. And Yes.... I'm jealous of you living in England. I understand it's beautiful all the time. Maybe next year for me. Thank you so much for stopping by.
@@davethedutchmansabventures You are welcome Dave, when I moved to Milford with my parents in 1967 I attended Murrays Bay School, one of the first things the Kiwi kids asked me was, what was snow like? as they had never experienced it, I had to tell them that in the SW of England where I came from it hardly ever snowed, they were so surprised as they thought it snowed all the time, I did laugh.
@pillred5974 Thank you so much for sharing it with me. I love it

The name Roaring Meg comes from the area's gold mining past. Along with the miners who were attracted to the area there were a number of "business women" who came to keep company with the men. One such woman was named Meg. The story goes that Meg made so much noise when being carried across the river that that stretch of water became known thereafter as "Roaring Meg".
@Masque54 Thank you so much for sharing it with. Much appreciated. I googled the history on the Roaring Meg and it's a very good and interesting story about it. I wrote in the description all about that story. Once again thank you for sharing it with
I was last in Roxburgh back in 2001. I know this dam well as my friend and I went fishing here regularly. They pronounce it Rox-Barra. Thanks for the memories.

Strangely enough, distilling spirits is completely legal for personal use in NZ. However, Australia, US, England have all outlawed the practice.

Wow, there are some great bikes there, I bought my first motorbike at Hauraki Corner (North Shore m/c) in 1973. It's an unusual place to have them I had to laugh that the only one leaking oil was the British bike the Norton Commando lol, you are certainly getting around I'm looking forward to watching part 4 next.
Thank you so much for stopping by and the kind words. I really enjoyed my time between those racing bikes. It has a great story behind them and then of course the movie about the 1920 Indian bike and it's story behind it. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Hope you'll enjoy my other videos as well. Take care and stay safe

It always amazes me how few cars there are on the roads once you leave Auckland, it makes driving a pleasure not a chore like it is here in England most of the time. I envy you for having all that road to yourself, keep up the trips maybe Browns Bay to Coromandel town, when I was on holiday there the last time (in 2006) it was one of my favourite drives up the west coastal road. It was good to see some of South Island as I have never been there myself so this is the next best thing, it's one o'clock in the morning here as I write this so it's off to bed, goodnight Dave.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I love going on the road. This time is to experience with on the south island. And as you say....the road is quiet the way I like it and it makes riding safer. My trip a awesome and hope you can enjoy the south trip as much as I do through my eyes. Really nice meeting you and sleep well. Take care and stay safe.
😅
New Zealand used to be so cheap for food, especially eggs milk meat, it now looks to be very expensive, people here in England moan about food prices they should watch your video they would soon stop complaining. I hope the wages are good as well, I enjoyed your walk around, I used to live in Takapuna as a child and regularly came back to Auckland on holiday with my wife until 2006 where I used to stay with a friend in Browns Bay, I'm surprised you never popped into speakers corner for a drink, I used to love it in there, if my wife gets her kidney transplant I would love to come back there again someday, thankyou for posting keep up the good work, I had a friend on board the ship (Southern Cross) going to NZ in 1967 he was Dutch, I called him Dutcher it wasn't you was it? lol.
You are right. Food and fuel ⛽️ prices keep rising. According to the news on TV people here are having it difficult to cope with the price of living here. Hope there will come a change soon. Lol......and NO it was not me on the ship. Hope we can maybe meet one day on one of your visits to New Zealand. Thank you for stopping by and wish your wife all the best in her kidney transplant. ❤️ I know all will be well.
@@davethedutchmansabventures Thanks Dave, all the best to you, yes it would be nice to meet you in person I keep my fingers crossed about the transplant we have not been able to travel for many years she is on dialysis which makes travel abroad impossible.
