I applaud your effort. However, there are some aspects of your explanation that are incorrect. Specifically with seventh chords. For example, you say the G7 becomes a Dmin7b5. It should be Fmin6, although they both have the same notes. Since the major triad G becomes the minor triad F, its G7 cousin must also retain the same root, F as opposed to D. The goal in negative harmony is to keep the same root movement that you have in positive harmony and flip it to the corresponding root movement in negative harmony, at least with those chords that you intend to be negative. Marco Fiorini did an excellent transcription of the concepts by Ernst Levy and Steve Coleman, and there's a YT video available on the subject.

Hi mate , just found this video , interesting stuff....a few questions... 1/if downloaded tuxguitar have it all working ect ...and trying to use your method to write ...how do i copy and paste the riff groove to the drum track ,so the kicks are the same groove as the riff? 2/ when ive managed to write the drum track like yours matching the riff ,can i export it to reaper and play it using superior drummer? Then obviously just record the guitars ? ... I think this is a very good way of thinking of ideas and i wana try , any help will be greatly appreciated,thank you .

One progression I really like that includes this is I-I+-IV-iv! It’s really pretty and the motion of the 5th scale degree to the #5th, then to the 6th, then back down again is so satisfying

Very nice!!! Great lesson!!! Here's an example of some cool prog changes... Although this isn't really a prog rock song, the chords definitely are: Styx's song Ballerina. It was written by their guitarist Tommy Shaw, but sang by keyboardist Dennis DeYoung. It's pretty amazing!
