Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry (OCPM)
Добавлен 29 июн 2022
Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry (OCPM), an agency of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States, proclaims the love of Christ to men and women who are incarcerated. We do this by applying the teachings of the Orthodox Faith to correspond with thousands of prisoners, providing them personalized spiritual care, Bibles, books, icons, catechism, and study courses.
As the national prison ministry of the Orthodox Church, we provide resources and training to local parishes and clergy, enabling them to offer local solutions and fulfill Christ’s command to visit Him in prison. As a result, families are reunited, marriages are healed, and thousands of incarcerated men and women have a new sense of peace and restored order in their lives.

A Spiritual Classroom Experience: The Certificate Program in Prison Ministry
"I and all my colleagues have been thunderstruck with the experience of being here at St. Tikhon's. It is so much fuller than just learning about prison ministry." -Joseph Nast, Graduate of the Certificate Program in Prison Ministry (in partnership with OCPM and St. Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Seminary)

"And he said to me, 'Fr. John, thank you for visiting me. Even though I didn't respond...I couldn't. I was so sick. But I remembered your voice. I looked forward every day to hearing your voice. And when you said, "Be strong," I was holding on to that.''" -Very Rev. Fr. "From the beginning, when we set up OCPM, we set it up to have the highest of standards. People should feel confident in supporting OCPM, because now we're really working hard on developing metrics to measure how successful we are. If we create a program, we want to be able to know that it really does work and, ultimately, achieve results in the lives of not only those that are incarcerated, bu...

"A person who was on death row, dying on the cross, discovered Christ. And in discovering Christ, he discovers his true self. A conversation took place. 'Lord, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom.' And Our Lord turns to him and says, 'Today, you will be with Me in Paradise.' He has a name. He has an identity. He's part of our church family. He enters into Paradise. In the prison, possib...

"Before his baptism into the Faith, I asked him, 'So what was going on? For two years you wouldn't talk to me.' And he said, 'I was just checking you out...Two years is nothing. Time doesn't mean anything in this place. We just want to see if what we're hearing from you is the same as who you are...I finally decided whatever you have I wanted in my life.'" -Fr. Tears of joy.
Life changing experiences
So beautiful
✝️ Amen 🙏❤️💙
Ive only been in military prison for a short run. When you guys said the word "broken" i lose it as usual. Some of my favorite people have been in and out of prison. One of them will probably repose in there. God bless this ministry☦☦☦❤
Bravo ☦️☦️☦️
A blessing.
Not the True Orthodox jurisdictions, though. Who are the true church and whom you continue to persecute.
As a former drug dealer who grew up as an atheist in a very secular society who found Jesus this brought me joy to see! After being lutheran for 8 years I alhave decided to convert to the Finnish Orthodox Church. Glory to God!☦️
Welcome home my brother. Godbless you and keep you.
I haven’t had the misfortune of being incarcerated but as someone interested in becoming Orthodox, St. Dismas has stuck out to me and I hope to make him my patron saint whenever I get baptized into the faith.
How wonderful! Glory to God! Thank you for sharing.
I completely understand what this man is saying, because I feel exactly the same way. Glory to God. ☦
I cannot explain how much this ministry is calling to me. I picked up a pamphlet in my church about this group, and I can't stop thinking about it. I came to faith in Christ late in my life, and am an Orthodox catechumen now; I have quite the life behind me. I have to know more about the work these people do.
Lord Have Mercy, Glory to Christ our God.
Great video. Great ministry. In tears.
Thank you for the encouragement! We're so glad this testimony resonated with you.
Me too!
Same here❤
Concise but excellent statement of this ministry.
Beautiful!
Glory to God!!!

Hallelujah!
