travelled here this year in April 2018 and there's now a clear sign that says " NO DRONES".

Restriction Just in some places when I was there, most of the places are free to fly. Enjoy your trip!

Very cool footage. I'm visiting Iceland this year - how did you access Heinabergsjökull? Is there a dirt road from Route 1 or did you hike up there?
Michael James there is a dirty route some km before hofn, there are signal to point some bath tubes but on the left you can follow the dirty road (4x4 car absolutely) for about 4 km to be on the glacier
