accidents are actually called collisions by insurance companies.
You might want to look into getting a snorkel/vent tube on the breather. Sitting at idle means you are getting a large amount of hot air ingested into the carb which will also induce stalling.
Did you not mention the price because it was so crazy high?
This Continental looks exactly like the one in the last photo of the 1965 LC brochure. Same Royal Maroon with black vinyl top.
You are right if I recall correctly. Love that '65 brochure.
The seats have been redone. The original leather has this shine to it and the X creases all along the seating surfaces that is an instant giveaway and the stitching goes much deeper. The drivers side instrument panel facing should match the rest of the brushed stainless steel trim option, it appears to be brown, matching the wood grain trim option. It should be brushed silver matching the glove compartment door. I'm seriously starting to think the '63 convertible I got 5 years ago with a JC rebuilt top system, all options and the rest all original, save for 1 repaint, was a bargain at $45K.
Thanks for the support and comment. No doubt on the price!!! Convertibles have just continued to maintain and go up in value!!!
I really like your channel. These seats are not original. The simple tell tail is the size of the piping. The original is much smaller because it was a solid piece but when redone they make it by folding material over a piece of plastic. I sold my '63 on BaT last March for $110k and my car was original. Just thought I'd give you something to look at when you review these great cars.
TY so much for chiming in and the support. Congrats man. And people will say BaT doesn't bring in big sales!!! that is awesome!!!
I think it is terrible when people take these beautiful Lincolns that are works of art and turn them in to giant wheeled pimp mobiles.
Or the wide white walls, but the old car hobby tarts up nearly everything by putting those giant rolling marshmallows on.
I understand everyone's opinion. People have been customizing cars nearly 100 years. Nothing you or I can say or do will ever stop that. Thanks for the comment and support.
I understand everyone's opinion. People have been customizing cars nearly 100 years. Nothing you or I can say or do will ever stop that. Thanks for the comment and support. PS, I have 1 custom Lincoln on 17 inch billet wheels that are machined to match the hub caps and wide white wall tires lol. Everywhere I go people love it. They say they dig the wheels that look like the hub caps. It's just opinions and everyone is going to have one. Take care.
I have attempted to register a car on this site for the last 6 months, the key parts of the pages you show do not appear for me. The pictures show up on each page but the areas to submit info do not show up at all. I can search cars that are in the system but CAN NOT register a car. I have revisited the site often the same applies for the contact page
10-4. That is odd. If you want to email me the info I can submit. Strange!! Maybe its the browser? I would try Firefox if you can. LincolnAddictPodcast@gmail.com
There already thanks! Greetings from Finland🇫🇮 😀👍
awesome. TY so much. Appreciate the support!!!
I visited the Lincoln Registry and my recommendation is to only attempt to search while using a laptop. It is ridiculously difficult to search using a phone.
Good feedback. I know some sites are not optimized for mobile so thanks for the info.
Good info. Im not sure if Ive put my information on there yet or not.
Thanks. Please do. You can search your VIN as well. I know it helps out the community.
@lincolnaddict anything for the community brotha!💪
Thanks for keeping us updated!
TY!
Interestingly, they changed the front turn signal lenses to Amber in '63 but reverted back to clear lenses in '64. Very clean car though. Alternator and Power Vent Windows became optional in '62 and standard in early '63.
TY for the info. I always thought that was interesting that in '63 they went to amber but by '64 back to clear! TY for the support and all the info!!!!
Time 12:56 bubbles in door paint..?
Yes, I guess I went through that pretty quickly. Seems typical from what I've seen. I'd like to see this one in person.
Kinda like the blue int.
Yes, I don't mind it at all.
John is a good dude. Parking lamps are in the works.
heck yeah. great peeps!
Way too strong, gonna scare off buyers. He's not even on the right stratosphere w/ his price. Maybe 125k for a restomod w/ a Coyote motor & 25k paintjob. You never know ,there's some rich baller out there that wants what he wants but I don't think he'll get over 70k.
I am glad it wasn't just my thinking on this one Richard. Ty for the comment.
I have a 61 sedan & a convertible. Sexiest cars on the road.
Well said!!
I'm glad to see you were able to weather the storm! Keep 'em coming!
TY so much. I appreicate cha!!!
Way overpriced. He's probably banking on the fact that its 'original' and triple black but that's probably all the car has going for it. Not an original CA car as it doesn't appear to have the emissions hose attached to the air cleaner and aside from tinted glass and door edge guards, literally no options.
I am glad I wasn't the only one thinking that. TY for the support.
113,600 miles.... Unless it was the car JFK was shot in the price is outrageously high. It's just an old car....nothing unique.
🤘🏽 TY for the comment and support.
Ok so December 1962, that's when they moved the data plate from the front drivers door pillar to the door itself. My '63 is 5th Nov, 1962 with the plate on the drivers door pillar. This car came out just over a month later with the plate on the door. It would be interesting to see the driving/handling capabilities of this chop top, especially with air suspension considering the car isn't 'balanced' like the original convertibles are. The JFK reference is in extremely bad taste though and quite off putting.
TY for the support. I need to drill this in my mind in terms of the door plate in Dec '62. No doubt. To me it is way too much!!! TY for the support. I appreicate you!!!
Preciate the content!! Tuning in from Houston!
Ty so much! Hope you guys are doing well out in H-Town.
Hey man I’m having some of these issues and I’ve taken out the Voltage gauge and tried Everything. Do you think I could pass my phone number to you and you call me to walk me through some things
Hey man sorry for the delay. Emailing me and I'll send you some info. I'm super busy this week and have a medical thing going on Thur that I am preparing for so I don't have much time to chat I am sorry. LincolnAddictPodcast@gmail.com
The bidding ended so low, I’m disappointed
Yeah, me too, lol. I've been sidetracked since the auction ended, but the car is still for sale. I was hoping to get $15K for it. The reserve was $10K. I'd accept $12,500 if anyone offered, or I'll wait it out a bit.
me to!!
Man someone is missing out. That is a nice one!!!! Any luck moving it?
@@lincolnaddict Nope. I've had one person inquire if I'd take something less than 10K, raising concerns over the the bubbling around the read quarters, and the vinyl top. I get it, especially for someone who's unable to come look at it. I'm gonna wait and see what else comes along.
Que presio tiene
That picture at the end is not an upper back panel switch. That's a picture showing the brake light switch upgrade that was done on the wrench and hammer receipt that was done last week. It replaces the hydraulic switch mounted at the master cylinder.
Hey thank you very much. I messed that up. Thanks for correcting me. I kept looking at it thinking someone did a micro switch on the upper back panel switch. Thanks! I'll make a correction on that in the next video! TY
Yes, and the engine was removed as well. Thank goodness it had SOME use before its unpleasant demise. The hardest part of the movie to watch! In 1964, this was not something that was done in films! Designer Ken Adam comments here and in other sources about the impact on the crew when they watched the scene. GULP!
TY for the support and commenting. No doubt. Def ugh to watch!
Thanks for the review! I am the seller here. FYI, I'm pretty sure I said it in the video, but the odometer is rolled over once. Except for its first 2-3 years when it was new, this car was garaged.
Awesome. Nice car man! Good luck!!! Ok, sorry if I missed that.
My father. In-law had a 67 and it was a beautiful car. I was sad to see him sell it . I would love to buy this car beautiful
It's a nice one!
I like this coupe 👍🏻
It's a nice one!!!
You are The MAN!! 👊😎
Hey, thank you very much for the support man and the good words
The Continental script on the rear fenders is anodized aluminum in 1961. Later it was chrome plated diecast zinc. Also, this car is a late production car, in that the steering wheel has the steering wheel horn ring on top of the spokes, vs the earlier which had the ring below the spokes - confirming the Jun 1961 build date.
Thanks much. I got confused for a sec but you are spot on. I wasn't aware of the steering wheel thing unless Chris at Lincoln Land told me in the past and I forgot. TY for the support.
Another also, the early 1961s have no screws holding on the inside door handles. At least Jan and before. Later including Jun have a center screw. Just fun facts.
First year of the ICON!
YES YES YES
Thanks for this excellent channel.
TY so much for the kind comment. I am thankful for the support.
when it says "bid to" that means it did not sell. It did not meet the reserve
Doh. I totally missed that. I am aware but that just went right over my head. I'll have to mention that in my next video. TY for chiming in. UGH!!! I hate making mistakes.
Someone got a great deal!
TY for the support.
But how do you explain the $55,000 convertible on Hemming’s that doesn’t sell? Of course, they are trying to sell it with one picture. Seems suspicious.
Honestly I've seen so many scams on Hemmings over the years I don't even go on the site anymore. I hate to say it. Prob a fraudster.
@@lincolnaddict And eBay has turned into a forum of Nigerian PayPal scammers. You can’t buy or sell any car on their website
I was watching it but couldn't get over the color combo. Just not my taste. That said, sub 20k for a nice one may be indicative of the softening market.
Understood. It is hard to say overall a softening market because one, like this car, will go for a tad less and the next week they will sell for way more than they are worth lol. I'm curious to see if we see a trend of softening prices. We shall see. Thanks for commenting and the support.
I had a '63 sedan 3Y82N400310, a VERY early '63 (date code left blank) which is now in Dubai and the data plate was on the inside door jamb. My '63 convertible is a 05L production date and the data plate again is on the inside door jamb.
Thanks for chiming in. Always awesome to have these details.
A quick note. In the door open photos, none of the door lights are on. Also, someone has installed the rear quarter lower trim from a 1964-65.
Ahh thank you. Good observation. Thanks for the info on the trim. It tends to throw me off since I own a ‘64 & ‘65 so I’m use to seeing it lol. Thanks again.
@@lincolnaddict You are welcome. As a side note: Are you aware that the center top bow on the 1961 convertible is something like an inch higher than on the 1962-63". It gives the 1961 a little bit of a "bubble top" look, since with a white top more than a black top. When I was a kid I liked that look, as it contrasts with the low linear lines of the car body - I still like the look. I believe it is noted in the 1962 sales catalog that the new 1962 top is slimer to look more like the sedan.
I've loved these cars since they were new but I think of all the cool newer cars that I could get for a hundred k. Ballers & wealthy people in general have sent prices to the moon. You could retire on a beach somewhere with what you have now.
Thanks for the support. ✅
Lots of great info here. I really enjoyed the time spent with Tim. That 64 sled has no idea how lucky it is to be owned and cared for by him! I love my 65 snd have no rrgrets purchasing it - quirky as it is . What pisses me off is the price gouging thats rampant among sellers of used parts. Its insane!
TY for the support!! Much appreciated. Tim is such a great guy!!! Yeah it is getting hard, as you know, to find parts.. but yeah I am NEVER a fan of price gouging. Take care!!

You didn’t mention what I think is the coolest thing introduced in the 1966 Lincoln, the thermometer style speedo!
Good point!!! Yes, it is very cool! TY for commenting!
That grill is definitely 1967
I'd take it to a body shop and get the metal trued at the front end and I'd install a genuine 1966 grill.
'66 grill has 9 bars which is what this grill has. The '67 grill has more bars and you can tell right away when you see them.
BaT is sucking at notifications that cars I want to watch have been posted. I get texts about the end of auctions, but only email about the beginning of the posting. This was 5 days old before I saw it... And there wasn't much interest even though I'd been on BaT several times.. they have no "contact us" info on the site either
