..about the dash: AC?
So cool! I hope they do 1962-1967!
Hot item! These things sold out before the vid dropped.
Dope!
I always enjoy your videos and have gotten a lot of information from them since I bought my 65 a year ago. $80k for this car two years ago seems really strong, especially since it will likely go for less now? Looking forward to watching the end of this auction.
Thanks so much for the support and comment. Just getting to this but I guess it is good timing. It sold for $78,000. To me, a nice convertible is going to hold its value and increase some depending on the purchased price point. That is great you own a '65.
Thanks for taking the time to get this out during a busy time of year! Merry Christmas, to you and the family!
TY for the support. I hope you had a Merry Xmas!
Push, not pull. The slot is for direction only. The drive wheels you see all over the track contact a friction plate welded on the bottom of the vehicle.
Yes, correct. Thanks for the clarification. I do sometimes tend to get my words mixed up but I probably was saying pull thinking push lol. TY again.
Fully loaded car, nice. Alternators were optional in '62 and standard in '63 but not sure if this car has it. Still has the '61 style door lock covers which they did away with later on.
Thanks for the support!
Thank you again 😀👍👍👍
TY!
I need to list my 68 sedan on there soon. I just bought a convertible and I definitely do not need 3 Lincoln’s lol
No doubt. BaT is the place to sell!
🔥
Kewl
TY for the support and comment.
Look at all that cast iron.
Thanks 💪🏽
Giterdun
Yeahhh! Look at all that horsepower!
Yay yay. 💪🏽
One of my all-time favorites !
TY for the support and comment.
Previous presentation was so much better! I love the way this one looks in the sun!
TY for the support and comment. I'll keep doing the presentations in almost all cases. TY!!!
idling in park...prolly not something I do. Holding the selector in reverse is a must when backing up. It can drop into drive once in a blue moon.
Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
I have heard you talk about the older Lincolns popping out of gear, it must be an adjustment. I bought my 1961 Lincoln convertible in 1972 when I was 17 years old . I am 69 now and it has never done that. I leave it sitting idling in park all the time . One thing I haven't heard you talk about is the 1963 AM/FM radio it''s the only year radio that fits in the 1961 and 1962 and plugs right in . Thanks, Jerry
Thanks Jerry!!! Appreciate the support and comment. Def be careful. It is not an adjustment per se. Check this video out sometime - ruclips.net/video/NBrv7TqcWIQ/видео.html - we have seen people's cars get BADLY damaged. Lincoln Land has seen it as well. Be careful!
Sorry check this video out! ruclips.net/video/P23fcsA7Tbk/видео.html
My dad had a 1966 Russet Lincoln Continental sedan and that color is definitely different. I believe that color is Cranberry. They should have reinstalled the Lincoln stars on the front fenders. It was a nice styling feature on the 1966. I really dislike the wide white walls. It detracts from the elegant clean body lines of the 1966 Lincoln Continental. I believe the 1966 Lincoln Continental was the most beautiful car Ford ever produced. The epitome of class and good taste.
Thanks for the support. It might be Cranberry. TY for the comment. I know some dislike the wide whites so I get it. Def an amazing year car / body!!!! Take care!!!
Nice, France is pronounced ''Neece''.
TY so much!! Good stuff. Someone else told me that on Facebook. Appreciate it.
Love what you’re doing. Great Lincoln stuff!
TY so much!!!!
Sounds like a good deal!
No doubt!!
Top 3 all time American car. Killer topic- keep it going man!
TY so much. Appreciate it. No doubt.
1961 was the last year of the wide whitewall tires. Having both a '62 (sedan) and '63 (convertible) I can safely say that I have yet to find the 'increased' legroom in the '63 either in the front or back. In the front the extra legroom would be only for the front seat passenger where the glove compartment door assembly was made smaller for '63 and the entire door and bottom trim doesn't open up and down as on the '62 hence it would probably only benefit a very tall person. I'm 6'2" and haven't noticed much difference. In the rear little to no change in the rear seat legroom. The brochures show the front seat moved significantly forward hence giving the impression of more legroom.
Thanks for the info and support. Good info.
Thanks for the Great Review. Its always nice to have the hard work appreciated.
🫡 fellas. You did an amazing job. My mind was blown how much time and effort you put into the showcase side of it. Mad props!
This car is so nice, i I had the pleasure of seeing it in person a couple weeks ago when I went to drop off my radio to my 66 i had retrofit with Bluetooth to the shop. That top doesn’t look bad, the tear is on the side so its a replace either way unless ur not gonna drive when its a possibility of rain. I really hope it does well. Its much more gorgeous in person, especially when the sun is shining. Not much to do except add ur own style or drive as is
No doubt. Well said. Thanks for the support. Appreciate you commenting!!!!
Good deal!!
No doubt. TY for the support.
Seems fair, no one is giving these beauties away . . . .
Agree!!! TY for the support.
My best friend in high school had a cream with a cream interior 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible. He could borrow it from his parents and we would take it down to the drag and just drive around and get a Coke at the favorite local drive-in restaurant. Wow it was fun Back in the 60s and, more importantly, high school girls just would love to have a ride in it and talk to us. Some of my very fondest adolescent memories. We would lie to those girls. Oh my gosh, we were bad boys when we were 16.
Man the good ole days. I'm glad to bring back some memories for you. TY so much for the support and taking the time to comment some of your memories. I love hearing from the folks who lived through an epic era.
Im surprisedit dodnt sell for more. BAT. typically has ridiculous auction prices because BAT client base is nothing but old wealthy white men that shop there..
TY for the support. Ironically I've heard the opposite from so many... so many say "Bring A Trailer doesn't bring in the big money." I've seen prices all over the board but for the most part these 1960s Lincolns do hold their value and have continued to go up. Take care!!!
Great video. I wonder why there is an adjustable headrest on the passenger side but not the driver.. any idea?
The head rest is for the optional reclining seat, only offered for the passenger seat. Federally-mandated safety head restraints would become standard equipment for the 1969 models produced in the 1969 calendar year.
Correct below. It was only avail on the passenger side. TY for the support and comment.
accidents are actually called collisions by insurance companies.
Thanks for the support. No doubt! Good point.
You might want to look into getting a snorkel/vent tube on the breather. Sitting at idle means you are getting a large amount of hot air ingested into the carb which will also induce stalling.
Thanks for the info!
Did you not mention the price because it was so crazy high?
No, it was super reasonable. It was an early video I did and not sure why I didn't mention it. I think it sold for 5-10k ish.
This Continental looks exactly like the one in the last photo of the 1965 LC brochure. Same Royal Maroon with black vinyl top.
You are right if I recall correctly. Love that '65 brochure.
The seats have been redone. The original leather has this shine to it and the X creases all along the seating surfaces that is an instant giveaway and the stitching goes much deeper. The drivers side instrument panel facing should match the rest of the brushed stainless steel trim option, it appears to be brown, matching the wood grain trim option. It should be brushed silver matching the glove compartment door. I'm seriously starting to think the '63 convertible I got 5 years ago with a JC rebuilt top system, all options and the rest all original, save for 1 repaint, was a bargain at $45K.
Thanks for the support and comment. No doubt on the price!!! Convertibles have just continued to maintain and go up in value!!!
I really like your channel. These seats are not original. The simple tell tail is the size of the piping. The original is much smaller because it was a solid piece but when redone they make it by folding material over a piece of plastic. I sold my '63 on BaT last March for $110k and my car was original. Just thought I'd give you something to look at when you review these great cars.
TY so much for chiming in and the support. Congrats man. And people will say BaT doesn't bring in big sales!!! that is awesome!!!
I think it is terrible when people take these beautiful Lincolns that are works of art and turn them in to giant wheeled pimp mobiles.
Or the wide white walls, but the old car hobby tarts up nearly everything by putting those giant rolling marshmallows on.
I understand everyone's opinion. People have been customizing cars nearly 100 years. Nothing you or I can say or do will ever stop that. Thanks for the comment and support.
I understand everyone's opinion. People have been customizing cars nearly 100 years. Nothing you or I can say or do will ever stop that. Thanks for the comment and support. PS, I have 1 custom Lincoln on 17 inch billet wheels that are machined to match the hub caps and wide white wall tires lol. Everywhere I go people love it. They say they dig the wheels that look like the hub caps. It's just opinions and everyone is going to have one. Take care.
I have attempted to register a car on this site for the last 6 months, the key parts of the pages you show do not appear for me. The pictures show up on each page but the areas to submit info do not show up at all. I can search cars that are in the system but CAN NOT register a car. I have revisited the site often the same applies for the contact page
10-4. That is odd. If you want to email me the info I can submit. Strange!! Maybe its the browser? I would try Firefox if you can. LincolnAddictPodcast@gmail.com
There already thanks! Greetings from Finland🇫🇮 😀👍
awesome. TY so much. Appreciate the support!!!
I visited the Lincoln Registry and my recommendation is to only attempt to search while using a laptop. It is ridiculously difficult to search using a phone.
Good feedback. I know some sites are not optimized for mobile so thanks for the info.
Good info. Im not sure if Ive put my information on there yet or not.
Thanks. Please do. You can search your VIN as well. I know it helps out the community.
@lincolnaddict anything for the community brotha!💪
Thanks for keeping us updated!
TY!
Interestingly, they changed the front turn signal lenses to Amber in '63 but reverted back to clear lenses in '64. Very clean car though. Alternator and Power Vent Windows became optional in '62 and standard in early '63.
TY for the info. I always thought that was interesting that in '63 they went to amber but by '64 back to clear! TY for the support and all the info!!!!
Time 12:56 bubbles in door paint..?
Yes, I guess I went through that pretty quickly. Seems typical from what I've seen. I'd like to see this one in person.
Kinda like the blue int.
Yes, I don't mind it at all.
John is a good dude. Parking lamps are in the works.
heck yeah. great peeps!
