    • @todaysinsanity1241
      @todaysinsanity1241 21 день назад

      You absolutely could do it if you wanted to the biggest drawback would be the risk of the arm being partially depressed and the lighter leaking but if you stick it in the fifth pocket on a pair of jeans then it's very unlikely

    Hi, I have one of these that my dad bought in the 70's. Can you tell me how you sharpen it and does it have a micro bevel? Great video, brings back memories, it's a cool knife and well made

    • @todaysinsanity1241
      @todaysinsanity1241 Месяц назад

      Mine did not have a micro bevel although adding one would be no trouble at all. As for sharpening my suggestion if you don't want to add a micro bevel would be sandpaper on a board I'd go with a fairly high grit personally.

    I got 2 beautiful Shiney Silver with Gold trim general supply Metal fountain pens on clearance at Staples here in Ontario Canada today and I got them dirt cheap, $2.97 each they were regular $29.99 so got a good deal. Thanks so much for this video I couldn't even figure out how to open it properly at first until I watched you do it LOL I just bought them because they are really pretty and caught my eye and the price was right plus the quality is top notch. I've never used a fountain pen really but just tried it and it's really nice smooth writing. I am a cursive writer so will definitely enjoy using it :)

    I inherited one of these from my grandfather, mine is marked “WILBERT Cutlery CO.” I have the complete set of tools but the soft leather pouch is a bit worse for ware. I guess we will have to disagree about the function of that tool with the sort of hook I don’t believe that is meant to be a bottle cap remover it looks like some kind of guide like to scribe a line at a set distance? I wish I new for sure maybe more research. Maybe one of your viewers has more information. The concept this multi tool uses is quite interesting because you end up with a narrow/thin tool unlike a swiss army knife with an equivalent amount of tools.

    • @todaysinsanity1241
      @todaysinsanity1241 Месяц назад

      Marketing materials called it a reamer and said it has a bottle opener which is what I based that off of. I was not aware that they sold them under the Wilbert cutlery name though that's definitely something I'll have to look into

    • @hitchpost5822
      @hitchpost5822 Месяц назад

      @@todaysinsanity1241 I have the exact tools listed/shown in the the two ads you posted. The tool shown upper left which I have referred to as an awl I think is the reamer. The hook tool I now think that must be the cork puller ? So you maybe right that it is a bottle opener. Interesting enough that part of the tool is not shown in either of the ads. when that knife first hit the market there would still be a lot of small bottles with corks, maybe you would slide it between the rim and the cork and the turn the tool till the hook was under the cork and pull up ?

    I used the heck out a Buck 102 from 1969 to 1999. The blade was worn down and kind of on the thin side, so my wife surprised me with a new one in December of 1999. It's been my sole fixed blade and it's my hiking/camping/fishing knife with some use out back in the garden. The little woodsman has been as good as the Buck 301 stockman I used for almost as long, and only replaced it with a 303 cadet. I'm 73 now and retired in Georgetown Texas, and do a lot of fishing in my leisure time. The 102 woodsman's a great knife for the outdoors. I don't carry or use anything but a Buck knife. The new Bucks are 420hc with the Paul Bos heat treat. Great stuff!!!!

      The price is technically around that 50$ price point but I don't think I've seen it above 30 at my local Canadian tire in the past year as for feel I agree in some ways and disagree in others mostly because to me the 311 feels more modern and fun whereas the 190 feels like a traditional with a lock and aluminum handles.
