Good question! Maybe he can't afford it like the rest of us.

It's a set neck and hard to travel with, his Tele has been modded with brass inserts for the neck bolts so it can be easily broken down for storage in a plane's overhead baggage spaces.

Of course he does have a couple acoustics, so might be the fact that he has called the Collings 470 JL "intimidating" since it is so sensitive and dynamic.

@@PercussiveMaintenance19 I watched his interview. He is, among other things, a very delicate person. This is almost unthinkable when we are talking about musicians of this level)). Due to the nature of my activity (I am a drummer), I communicated a lot with various musicians, including those famous all over the world. Almost all of them suffer from star fever, although this is not surprising. Julian Lage, I think, is different. For some reason, his communication style reminds me of Jim Marshall. At one time I worked in a music store in Warsaw and Mr. Marshall came to us with his presentation of new combos. The gentleman was very friendly and easy to talk to. He also turned out to be a good drummer)) Julian Lage reminds him of him in some way, maybe he plays the drums too?))
