I was surprised and pleased to see another side performing longsword figures from North Skelton, Yorkshire. Part of a grand day out at Sidmouth Folk Festival. Apologies the music is a bit faint (I was a long way away when I saw them start, and didn't think I should barge to the front).

A dance in the Morris tradition from the village of Sherborne (the one in Gloucestershire, I think). We had a warm welcome from The Church House Inn, and a great music session later - fuelled by chips kindly provided by the pub.

The dance is called "Laudnum Bunches" apparently, but often known by the song at the start "Oh dear Mother what a fool I've been". This performance was from the Morris tradition of Headington, on a lovely Summer's evening to a small but enthusiastic audience. After dancing we had an enjoyable music session - The Wellington Inn kindly gave us chips too!

North Skelton longsword dance. Part of a lovely day out supporting an RNLI concert at Mothecombe House and Gardens in support of a concert for the RNLI's 200th anniversary of saving lives at sea. Was a good evening: bigger audience than I expected (given the weather), fun music and dancing, warm welcome and chips from the pub, enough space inside and a great session!
