Bravissimi!
So much joy in this. It’s an old recording now but i play this album by the Kings Singers often.
Alguien en 2024 está escuchando esta Joya ?
Schöne madrigale ,
It always amazed me how they could sing in perfect pitch without and intrumental accompaniment.
The very definition of sanity. What a fun and kind object in such a unhappy and unkind world.
The faster tempo makes this the best version of the madrigal.
Fantastic then and after many permutations, still fab.
Anthony Holt. Well done, sir. RIP.
Anthony Holt (baritone) passed away on 12 January 2024 at age 82. Rest in peace.
A wonderful voice. RIP.

Does anyone know the name of the chanson in 0:46?
Fine Knacks for Ladies was simply delicious. Magnificen singing.
Superb close-harmony singing.
And remember, it's Alastair that always has the winning hand!!! 🤣
R.I.P Anthony Holt 😢

Onomatopeiche meravigliose. Un pezzo storico eseguito da dei giganti !!
WOW! Watching this episode again resurrected a long-lost memory! When this series was first shown in the U.S.A. in 1984 on the A&E Network, I remember seeing this episode and the tobacco song (5:40-6:40). However, on later reruns this song was deleted --- GONE! I am guessing some mentally constipated Americans objected to the sight of some men smoking inside a tavern and singing about the pleasures of tobacco. Even in the mid-1980s Political Correctness started running amok!
"Tanzen und Springen, Singen und Klingen". That fun madrigal just makes me want to frolic through the Schwarzwald (Black Forest) and Bavarian villages on a sunny Spring day! 😊😊😊 Fa-la-la-la!
Thank you so much for keeping this posted over the years :)
Wonderful exposition of German madrigals!
These guys are amazing.
Richie Valens had a big hit with it several hundred years later.
Heard these gentlemen quite a bit during Music History 1. Prof was a big fan.
O ciro gomes ali no meio
This documentary is so important to me and each of you boys are real ones 💪🏼

Please, what's the name of the first song?
They have censored the words! Near the beginning it's "la más buena mujer rabia siempre por..." Well, you can guess what, it rhymes with "mujer" and in English it starts with an F!
Schlock.
Axa = aisha
Extraordinary. What an age the Elizabethan period was.
Do you have one of those long stemmed pipes yet
Filipa
Bellissimo programma e bellissime canzoni🌈🌞Grazie!
I searched for this as it was in an episode of Midsomer Murders
Die heutigen Kids kennen keine madrigale mehr!
Ah Robin is beautiful.
And the Month of maying was delightful!
@@JOHN-tk6vl my renaissance faire company sings that one every year at our faire. We have such a great time!
I learned "Fair Phyllis" in the chamber choir in College and still love it. The expressions they make whilst singing it almost made me giggle. It's still a beautiful piece. The KS are part of my childhood, I wish every child could be exposed to music and history this way.
Tony Holt's voice is richly incomparable.
What a gem! Thank you for sharing. Do you know what the name of the song sung by Emma Kirky in this part on that in part 6?
The beauty of the Gombert is breathtaking.
The Petrarchan lovers lament de Wert sets is a mighty piece. Absolutely amazing.
Sainte Barbe!
