I am immigrant, came to US because a war in my previous country. I did not have money, neither permit to work and I was deported. I sleep in friend's cars, finally worked for someone, reach the top and noticed working for someone was not for me. I started two business, the real estate broker succeeded but did not had what I was looking for, started another business with residual income, reached the top and now continue to have another business which also is succeeding. The lesson is keep more than one business running and make sure have residual or passive income. Took me longer of what I expected, but now I can stop working any time. But not yet, do what you love to do! Recently I received the highest award US Congress give to a civilian in US. People asked me how did I get it. Just help other without expectations, dream like a child, be in a room where others are more successful than you, never compare to anyone but yourself and keep your family priority in your life.
