How to apply for seasonal lottery at Angels Landing:
• Apply 1-3 months prior to your visit to Zion National Park.
• You will get to pick seven ranked days and times or windows of days and times you want to hike.
• Find the date you plan to be in Zion and use recreation.gov to apply for a permit during your application window.
• Did you get the permit? The NPS will send you an email to let you know if you got a permit. You will be charged $3 per person you registered. View the important dates section to find out the application window and when you will find out results.

@@slowdrip1921 I am honestly not sure - it looked like a fire but this area was heavily forested at one point so it’s hard to say.

I was told that where the cables are is already super slick, so if it’s raining, BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL PLEASE.
@@StephanieRogina-lx1pt I honestly thought some areas were VERY slick and it wasn’t even raining. I probably will never do it again 😅

I’ve watched countless videos of people climbing Half Dome - so many that I was finally able to watch without my palms getting sweaty. Until THIS one 😬😬😬
@@kathrynharnecker4394 so sorry 🙊 this stuff usually doesn’t stress me out but I sat at the bottom for a solid 30 minutes debating if I even wanted to climb it 😂

@@MrBeanieWeenies801 yes, there wasn’t many! But the one guy made a good point in the video that wearing a harness protects you from those above you in the case that they fall. I would definitely wear one if I were to go in the future!

I wish people would look after their dogs so we could enjoy the parks. But they don’t so I understand why they don’t allow dogs.
@@jimjohnson759 it’s certainly sad, that is the truth! So many times I still see people on trails with their dogs even when it is not allowed 🥲 it disturbs the wildlife!
I had a ‘63 VW with a ‘65 rebuilt engine (more power) back in the day. I made it.😊

They could just blow it to pieces to get it out of there so camping trucks & motor homes could drive through but why they haven't is a good question that's what they've done when having to get a train horse & carriage & vehicles through.
@@sharonSantini-ki4qp there’s actually a road off to the right to drive on! I think the trucks and motor homes are turned away because the road up the mountain is very narrow!

I think it would've been a fun time to be there when that rock settled into that position. It would take quite a commotion to lay a 1000 ton rock across there.

No really this is a very beautiful place wonderful looking You ever need shade.. You also got to keep an eye on how tall your vehicle or truck might be. You won't make it if it's too tall..

I see no problem with this?? Most people are taller than their cars and you still had a good amount of distance between you and the rock.
@@huskykid0295 it was a very tight space for a two way road to go through! Nowadays with the size of vehicles - I highly doubt that two could make it through. Plus… there’s a lot of questionable driving in the U.S. 😅
