Aaaahhh, 2022's Halloween theme was Disney's Haunted Mansion, with 15+ props seen from the ride, in the yard, and plans are being drawn for this years Christmas display. With luck (and a winning lottery ticket), Santa's Workshop will be 2022's Christmas theme. Animatronic elves, reindeer and Santa will be out in th' yard. Planning the animatronics, and drawing the toy workshop will be the first items on the build list. Jack Skellington and Sally may even pay a visit!

My Transitioned Life
I was in a fog, for 55 years .. years I was cast, into a role .. a terrible role, in a horrible play.. when I just couldnt, any longer, I had to just walk off the stage , take off the costume, and be myself.

Halloween 2013 Pirates of the Caribbean display
This Easter time. Christ is Risen! Indeed he is Risen.
Be happy… that’s all that matters.
Nice ❤
HD's 12' skelly, made into animated prop, hacked with FrightProps.com PicoTalk servo controller. Allows any audio to be fed in, moving servo by converting sounds to servo commands. First, jaw was cut loose from the head, and cleaned, formed to move. Hinges added, servos added to jaw, to sling jaw to music, speech, another servo mounted on the neck to turn the head. Head mounted on a 3" lazy susan plate to allow it to rotate. Some tuning to match audio to movements needed, then black material glued in to cover the innards.
HD's 13' Jack Skellington hacked with a Lynxmotion SSC32u 32ch servo controller. Replacing the stock board allows me to feed in any audio I want, any song, any line from NBC, other movie, music, even live TV, radio.
My daughter Christine happened upon this. Somehow I had never found it! Thank you SO much for posting this gem!
great, excellent work, one question, what is the name of the bearing and what size is it?
How did you dye the fur green? I need to do that for my 2nd one! Also do you know how to repair one with stiff legs that won’t sway left to right?
I used colored (thick tipped) sharpies! Remember the Color Wheel for mixing colors to get the color you want .. Blue feathers + yellow marker = green feathers . I mixed different sharpie colors with the blue/yellow fur to get varied bird colors.
I hadn't dealt with non-rocking birds yet .. if I have any, I'll just let it be, and have the wings flap.
You’re so inspirational and such fun and kind hearted person. This video is so beautiful and so emotional. I hope I’ll have the pleasure to see you again! ❤️ the flight was too damn short!
Thanks for posting all your builds. Halfway to Halloween, I'd better get busy!!
Awsome
Love it, simple but effective Can you show the back side? Thanks
Larry, I think the next tombstone video, or one of the Shorts shows the backside and reindeer motor attachment. easypeasey to make!! Same with the Split tombstone behind it.

I'll look. Thanks
Awesome! ❤
that is really AWESOME!!
Looking good. Are they on a programmed show or a timer?
It was a programmed show, Lightorama sequence i made using the ride audio.
Nicely done. Did you do just the skull animatronics or the whole skeleton? I'm just starting to get into animatronics myself.
This one I didnt build, the prop itself is Spirit Store's Grim Talker, just with a different controller board.
Where did you get the Gemmy Talk controller board from?
Was from JMan, a HalloweenForum member. I think it was $59 ..
Jack at Audioservocontroller.com sells them. There are two versions, one that runs a dc motor (like 6' Jack), and many other Jemmy type dc motor driven props, and aidio servo controller, which can run a digital or analog servo and LED eyes .. I think they run $50 each .. but chk his wrbpage and email him, he's really quick responding and fast shipping, tho he's normally swamped at Halloween season.
where can I get the plexiglass place for linberg skulls
Sorry David, just saw this .. any home store .. Lowes, HD, Ace ..
Love me some singing parrots.
Hopefully you are able to see this. Any tips on the programming side? I'm having trouble making the leaping motion fluid and smooth
If you do fades as you go into the next segment, leave the last, it will seem like its sliding..
How do you connect the motor shaft to the board?
The spinning board (ice rink) was mounted right to the shaft. The shaft was threaded, and i just backed two nuts sandwiched btwn the "ice" board.. was pretty easy really, the weight of the rink is supported by the lazy susan plate.
Do they use this approach anymore? Feel like this is the only video of it on here!
NY Appproach does, but runway 13Left is closed for the remainder of the year, resurfacing the pavement.. so only Rwy 13R would be used. When they had the 13's in use, Kennedy would be using Rwy 22Right for departures.. just not so much anymore.. depends how strong the winds are blowing.
cool really awesome
Cool vid
Sweet! I love the pirate ship!
That's awesome
Hi Scott.. while i dont have a parts list handy, the rod end/swivel is from McMasters & Carr. They have these online. These are the ... the 1/4" swivels (if I recall). If your skull heads are heavy resin (like medical student grade, might go with the 3/8" ones. I was using the plastic hobby shop skulls, much lighter. Sorty, i dont remember the part numbers, but i hope the company named helps. Paula
hey BusChik do you have a parts list that you used???
I used a McMaster swivel eye, 1/4" all-thread, 1/4" nuts, a couple compression ferrules, Servos, servo arm kits (for the pushrods) and a couple small L brackets
As long as I got my woobie, I can sleep on the hardest and coldest floor with no compaints!
did you make this or was it bought like this?
These are eight 1 1/2" pvc sleeves wrapped with a 100ct string of lights, slid over a 1/2" x 8' pvc, slid over rebar hammered into the ground. Made these, cannot buy them.
Im in middle school my class played this i guessing my school has one of top orchestra cause where playing highschool music
My orchestra too
How fun to hear this song so appropriately scoring this pirate extravaganza. Bravo. BTW, "Pirates of the Black Tide" Words and Music by Gary Powell.
Hi I like your test of the tubes do you have a pic. of it in day light or how you made them ? what do mead about the topmost sleeve ?
These are just eight 1 1/2" pvc sleeves wrapped with 100ct light strings. #7 is wrapped with a orange set, #8 is wrapped with orange and red sets (for shell burst).
Paula, you did an awesome job...Like I said, I can't stop watching.
I have this piece and its kicking me in the but!
AMAZING!
my zombie has a bucky
Thanks all for the comments.. Ron, these are quite a few years old now, I've actually abandonded this design, and bought a bunc of Triaxial's kits. waaay smoother movement. A bit pricy ($60/ea) but lots better. James, make sure you lube the ball well so it has smoother movement. something other than WD40 (works for abt 10mins)..
Is there any way you could email me your sequence? It would be greatly appreciated! I have been looking for this for a while and can't find it anywhere..Thx!
Thos was a while ago but anyone looking for LOR seq. can look in LOR Users group on FB under Uploaded Files.
I keep telling my dad tht I would LOVE to do this to our house but he doesn't wanna!:-(
If you make your bracket for the rose bearing v shaped and lower down in the skull, you wont need to cut much of the skull away
I played this same piece with Mrs. Hagen in my freshman year!(:
my orchestra is doing this piece this year so excited
Rather than me telling you how to make them here, search for Lightorama Forum and read up in multiple threads how to make AND PROGRAM these.
im not even mad.
You can get these sequences and designs at HolidayCoro
Import -that- file in, run the Analysis, let VSA put in the movements, then replace that dummy file with the real one (for the voice or singing) and run your skull.
The program is called VSA, Visual Servo Animation, available only from Brookshiresoftware. It's petty easy to use once you get the hang of it.. you set the servo range limits, import the audio file, run the audio analysis, that puts the "move servo" commands based on the volume of the audio file. What I would suggest is to make a plain file with a single loud tone as an exact copy of the file you want to use. (more)
I ended up skipping the Cat5 sockets as they were -very- expensive to use for the boxes.. I ended up clipping the pigtail off the servos, soldering them right to the length of Cat5 cable on one end (that end plugs into the board) and the other end of the Cat5 cable is soldered right to the servo leads.
For the plugs or the Cat5 sockets? The plugs, the yellow (or whatever color the command signal wire is) goes to the command pin on the board, red is the +5vdc and the black is the ground for either.. I cant remember how the pins go for the Cat5 sockets as I switched from the sockets (waaaaaay too expensive to make them worth it) to just soldering the servo pigtail right to the long Cat5 cable then that to the servo. Hope that helps.
