Caterpillar Sixty and Harris combine
Hi all. Here is a video of my 1929 Cat Sixty pulling my 1947 Harris 30-38 in winter wheat. This Harris combine was built in Stockton, California, and was bought new by my great uncle. This was the forth year we've ran it since getting it back to running order. The Harris had sat in a shed since 1960. This Harris has a 16' cut, and does an excellent job of saving and cleaning the wheat.

Caterpillar Sixty plowing
Просмотров 18 тыс.4 года назад
Hi all. Here is my 1929 Cat Sixty pulling a five bottom John Deere 66 plow. These are 16" bottoms, and the Sixty is happy to pull them in second gear. The engine runs at 650 RPM wide open. This is the first real load I had put on the engine since I'd went through it last winter. I'm real happy with how it runs and looks. The intake and exhaust manifolds were in real bad shape when I started. I ...
Caterpillar Sixty first start since 1963
Просмотров 129 тыс.5 лет назад
This tractor had sat in a shed since 1963 I brought it home last year and got it running. The first time it starts, i just let it run from what was in the carburetor, so it doesn't run long. The second start its running from the vacuum tank. It's needs some fine tuning yet but I'm happy with how it turned out. thanks for watching!
1917 Holt Engine startup and run
Просмотров 18 тыс.5 лет назад
This 1917 Holt is 45 Horse Power. It's rated at 600 RPM, but it's only running 325 or so in the video. This engine was used to power a Holt Hillside combine. The opening picture is what I started with. It took me 1 1/2 years to get it running. It took parts of three separate engines to get one running engine. The water pump is a genuine Holt piece from one of the combines i dismantled for the e...
Antique Holt Engine Startup

Hi Everyone, Here is a video of the second start of my 1917 (we think) Holt harvester engine. This engine develops 45 horsepower at 600 RPM. It has a 6" bore and a 7" stroke. I've been working on this engine for about 1 1/2 years. i can't wait to get the cooling system done so I can run it longer. Thanks for watching!

D6 Cat first start in 18 years
Просмотров 75 тыс.6 лет назад
Hello all, This nice old tractor, serial number 9U17, had been setting outside beside the previous owners garage for 18 years. It has always been a farm Cat, and never had a blade on it. We had some issues, first the fuel system was pretty gunked up, second the old inertia drive starter was acting pretty grumpy, and third I couldn't get it to go into reverse. The clunk, clunk, clunk you here whil...

Hello all, here is a 1960's D6B doing some fall plowing. This tractor had sat idle for 18 years up till a week ago. I was able to rescue it and I couldn't be happier. the plow is a five bottom JD 66 rope trip unit. Most of these tractors got turbochargers fitted here in the PNW, but this one never got one. its a very nice Cat to drive! thanks for watching

I had a D6 2h model, almost identical, got it for free, i just had to move it. it had a blade and a BG hydraulic system that operated off the rear PTO shaft, I pushed plenty of dirt with it. powerful little machine, a lot smaller than a modern D6. I sold my machine on an eBay auction to a Canadian guy that owned a large contracting company. James Dick construction, I don’t know what he planned for it, It may have been for yard art. that sucker had a brand new undercarriage on it, you could still read caterpillar on the track pads.

I was to Kansas a few years ago. I saw a couple old combines off on hillsides obviously parked for years. They were no where near as big as this Harris but even if one could be bought the cost of getting things home over a long distance is just so prohibitive those days. I would love to have an old one with the header off the side. Thanks for the video.

We pulled a 5-16 plow with Dad's 1936 RD6 three cylinder back in the 50's on our North Central KS farm. It pulled an additional 2-16 in its younger years but was getting tired so eliminated the extra two bottoms. Thirty gallons of diesel would last a long day.

It would seem using a little ether after fuel was being injected would only make it easier on the machine, both the pony, and the main engine.

I was going through your videos and saw your D6C, my dad was the original new owner and he and my uncle built that cab! We sold it in 2003 and I knew it was in the Odessa area for a short time, then lost track of it. Glad to see it is still being used. What a great dozer application! We still have a 1979 D6DSA, and run it every year for fun. 5th gear was the weakest link in that D6C for some reason,
