TOYOTA GR COROLLA | ONE HOT HATCH TO RULE THEM ALL?
Can the Toyota GR Corolla really be the ultimate hot hatch? We're convinced it is. It's not without shortcomings (think underwhelming interior and RRP), but to drive, this performance car is straight-up spellbinding. The Gazoo Racing outfit is on a role.

ALFA ROMEO STELVIO QUADRIFOGLIO | THE BEST PERFORMANCE SUV?
Просмотров 5 тыс.2 месяца назад
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio (QV) is a staggering, outrageous, awe-inspiring automobile. Powered by an engine with proper supercar pedigree, this Italian Stallion rides tall and fast. Really fast. Is it the best performance SUV on the market right now? Quite possibly. Do we love it? Absolutely.
TOYOTA GR86 | IS THIS THE 'GOLDILOCKS ZONE' SPORTS CAR?
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 месяца назад
The Toyota GR86 promises to bullseye the sweet spot of sports car nirvana, offering enough grunt, handling, and looks to make it juuuust right for performance enthusiasts. The only question is - has it driven straight into the 'Goldilocks Zone'?
TOYOTA GR YARIS | IS THIS ROAD-LEGAL RALLY CAR STILL WORTHY OF THE HYPE?
Просмотров 13 тыс.3 месяца назад
Few cars have sent the automotive world into a frenzy like the Toyota GR Yaris did when it was launched back in 2021. But is the homologation rally special still worthy of all the hype it received nearly four years ago? Let's find out!
FORD MUSTANG GT | SAYING GOODBYE TO THE BRILLIANT S550
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.5 месяцев назад
In what must be one of, if not the best Mustangs since the 1964 original, it’s time to get FN out of here and make way for the S650 ’Stang. Yet, we couldn’t just let the S550 exit stage left without a proper send-off. This is a Coyote-fuelled tribute with the 339kW and 556Nm V8 ready to burst out of the stables for a farewell drive. Saddle up with us for the ride.
BMW M3 TOURING | THE ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE CAR?
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.7 месяцев назад
This is the BMW M3 Competition Touring. The Bavarian’s teased us almost four decades ago with a booted M3, but they’ve now delivered. We’re getting behind the wheel of the 375kW/650Nm monster to see if it’s the ultimate performance solution. Yes, at more than $200k (in Australia) it isn’t spare change, but then again, it comes close to being all the car you’ll ever need. Enjoy the ride with us.
❤ for the RUclips algorithm
You forgot overpriced. It's a pure car.
I brought the convertible V8, great mines 2018, already at 125k just a fun car to drive. Cheap to maintain, after i changed the transmission filter and oil at 90k it made it a heap smoother.
Excellent review! Honest and genuine reactions, I liked it a lot. Alfa Romeos are incredible, especially Giulia QV and Stelvio QV, fantastic cars, fully agree with all you said about this car. Keep up the good work! I subscribed 🙂
Great video! As an owner, I’m in agreement, an absolutely amazingly fun vehicle.
Man the opening shot at 0:28 is sick!
I have a deposit on a 2025 here in the states. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas as it gets closer and closer to arriving at the dealership!
Congrats! I’m in the states and I love mine! I have owned a V8 supercharger autobahn beast and a naturally aspirated Japanese performance V8. I would never have imagined a 3 banger would be so much more thrilling and enjoyable as this GR Corolla. This car is soooo good
Sub'd 😊
The noise is beacause the tyres
信じられないほど獰猛なモンスター! 撮影の場所はどこですか??雄大な景色が素敵です。
We filmed in a really nice part of Gippsland, which is about 1.5 hours south-east of Melbourne.
Different type of review, love it mate. Love this car! Love the colour. Where did you test the vehicle?
Thanks very much, mate! And yes, it's a great performance car, especially in that green 🍀 Tested and shot the vehicle around Gippsland, not far from Loch.
11,000+ views - all GRY owners probably, and all still in love with this amazing peach 🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂
Great review. Compared with I30N sedan, what would be quicker around tight wishes, more fun, and more comfortable ride ?
Thanks very much! That's a great question, and I've got a review of the i30 Sedan N coming to the channel soon. I think, on a dry twisty road, it'd be really close between the two cars, but on anything even remotely damp or greasy, the GR's 4WD system would best the i30, which can be traction limited at times. Ride quality in the Corolla is better, in my opinion. However, the bandwidth offered by the i30's adjustable dampers is really compelling, and overall, the ride is pretty great. As for fun, the GR takes the cake every time. The i30 is more serious than fun - although the exhaust tries its hardest to be hilarious.
Impressive review. Subbed.
I owned a GR Yaris and Morizo Corolla....at the same time. Loved the Morizo but for two things: Size and Weight. It just felt too big on the mountain roads and too heavy compared to the Yaris. However the gearbox was brilliant. Had a much better 2nd to third ratio than the cooking versions. I wish the Yaris had it. Both great cars though. Great review
Fantastic!
4:13 that car must have a bit more aggressive alignment than stock, right?
I thought the same, but no, that's stock!
Yeah they come with very aggressive camber from the factory and it kinda eats the tires quickly.
The fact that it is so noticeable on the rear makes it even more extreme 😮
GR Corolla on 🔥 fire
I just wish that trunk was a bit longer
Fold backseats down. Done.
Love this! Such a great car honestly!
Agreed - I've had pricier fast cars - But my GR Corolla is such an 'all round" great fun car. 👍Be it in Safari/Rally/Spaghetti Road or in Daily mode👍
Sorry but as soon as you said “decent size boot” I knew this was a paid commercial
It is once you fold the seats down. You can literally sleep in the back if you're an average sized person
@@cheeko_914 FYI - Storage size is relative to your needs - some need a huge Suburban others get by with a Fiat 500... So buy the size of vehicle that works for you. If a car to small get an FN bigger car & simply move on. I took an 'amazing" 2 week rip thru the Pacific Northwest in my GR Corolla. Of which I slept in the back no less than 8 nights - not because I had to - but because I wanted to be at the best part of a mountain road at 5 am so I could drive it 'with NO rubber neckers in sight' = BLISS👍 Other than the fact that the GR rips - the versatility of being able to do such a trip puts this car in my #1 slot. (& I've had plenty of faster & pricier cars)
I luv Toyota ❤......Cape Town South Africa 🎉
Great review! I'm impatiently awaiting the 2025 i have a deposit on.
Not even best in segment, wow.
"Best" is relative.
@wellsbengston4132 Well if you don't plan on driving off road best would be the FL5. I don't think there's much argument there.
@@Jesse-x4o What about rain and snow?
@@wellsbengston4132 I don't live in the snow, my car handles rain well but AWD has an advantage there. How many people go 10/10ths in rain or snow on the road? I don't even in my AWD Tlx Type S. GRC is an awesome car just not best in segment.
@Jesse-x4o It's the best in this segment to me. I never drive 10/10s at all, especially in the rain, but one quickly runs into the limits of front wheel drive in the rain and it's no longer enjoyable. I want a vehicle that stays enjoyable no matter what the conditions are. I used to love driving my Focus RS in the rain. It was just as enjoyable as the dry. The GR Corolla is the closest thing to the RS available new.
Wish we got hte Yaris instead in the US (mexico got it somehow lol).. The Corolla isn't as good imo.. it's not a homologation special that was completely re-engineered, like the Yaris.. They couldn't even setup the diffs correctly to withstand 10 minutes of track work.. Car seems like an exercise in, 'what's in the pantry that we can give the americans?'.. And it might be why Toyota's two best sports cars (for the us market) over the last 20+ years have been cars that they collab'd on (the 86s and Supra).. they can't do it on their own completely anymore.. at least for hte US market, lol.. because the GR Yaris is far superior to this GR Corolla, imo..
Your opinion? Lol. A person that hasn’t driven either, that’s great. Did u even bother to watch the video? Bc anyone that has driven both will tell u that the GRC is not a “conciliation” prize for North America. It’s just as special, without being a true homologation car. And it’s more usable. In other words your opinion is trash. I’ll take motive videos take on the matter, …..ppl that are actually specialists w the gr Yaris. It’s just amazing to me how ppl like u have such strong opinions with ZERO experience. It’s laughable.
You should say what model year this is in your title.
The Golf R dsg gaps this manual in 0-60 and track times
Very true! Golf R is an epic hatchback 🏁
It does. I test drove a mk7 R & a mk8 R, and bought the GR (for more $). Two very different cars…
U racing people at red lights?
Exactly, if “gapping” is your concern…..might as well get an electric car.
@@KN-jw7ts nope at the track derp
Really well done video. U deserve many many more followers. Keep it up and I imagine it will be so. Btw, That bit of additional usability over the yaris really makes this a great daily driver. I personally didn’t believe the hype w these cars until I drove one….hard. It’s truly a special thing.
Thanks very much for the kind words, mate! And yes, such a great car for daily duties and performance thrills 👍
You should do a comparison to the FL5
I'd love to do this comparison test! Hopefully, sometime early next year 👍
where is the twisty road exactly (4 hrs north of Melbourne)?
Mount Buffalo 🐃 👍
another great review. I like your perspective wit and attitude.
Thanks very much, mate!
Audi S3 next?? And would you do POV or too risky lol
Would love to have a steer of the new S3 and review it - I hear good things about it. I have thought about slapping a GoPro on my head for some in-car POV driving footage. I'll try it out on the next shoot and see how I go 👍
I own a GR Yaris and all of your points are bang on. I shift with the same intent you mentioned and I'm astonished by the grip just as you are. Brilliant cars and mind bending.
Love the GR Yaris! Very special car.
Great review mate, I’ve owned my Elantra N for 1.5 years now but I drove the Corolla recently down my local twisties and it was lovely. I just couldn’t bring myself to an interior and gauges that were basic compared to the N cars, along with seemingly same cornering abilities in dry conditions (if not slightly more pointy in the EN).
Thanks very much, mate! Elantra N/i30 Sedan N is a fantastic performance car, and I totally agree that it'd be hard to go from that interior to the Corolla's. I'll have a review on the EN/i30 Sedan N coming out in November, but needless to say - it's one of the best FWD performance cars on sale today.
Great to hear your perspective! Amazed to see you as a reviewer (killing it!). We met in your Renaultsport days and I'm pretty sure you drove my 265 808. I sold my Megane RS that I owned for a decade and replaced it with this. Couldn't agree more with your comments. Biggest compliment I can pay for the GR is that it matches the raw enthusiasm of the 265 with a level of compliance of suspension and convenience that the RS couldn't match. It's early days for our GR but as a 5 family it seems to be the perfect fit for a fun 2nd car that can do all the boring stuff too!
Hey mate! Thanks very much for the kind words. Was always a fan of your Liquid Yellow 808! And awesome to hear you're in a GR 'Rolla now. Such a brilliant car and perfect for family duties and early Sunday morning Reefton runs.
Umm, decent boot space? In a Corolla? The interior finish is still too basic Corolla for me, and the styling just isn’t my thing. But it can’t be denied that it’s just a cracking drive by all accounts though, and one of the true remaining examples of mechanical, manual, sensory hot hatch joy.
What road are you driving? I want to take mine there.
Mount Buffalo 🐃 👍
Great video, thank you! With the hatch convenience and rear seats, this looks like an excellent option for a keen-driving dad or mum with young kids. On that brief, how would you say it compares to the current Civic R?
Too many doors, too heavy.
Then get the yaris
I needed a 4 door (dogs not kids) this turned out to be the perfect choice. We are out there. And you have plenty of 2 door options.
@@uv77mc85 I did!
I own this car and will say, this is one of the more balanced reviews I’ve seen. I’m in the states so mine came with the performance exhaust and black spoiler. Enjoyed your review. Thank you.
Good video, I have a 2020 Stelvio QV rosso competizione in stage 1 with 560 cv and 720 nm. Before the Stelvio I had a Macan Bi Turbo and a BMW M4 Xdrive but this car is just fantastic.
Many thanks for the really good video and the good presentation of the vehicle. The sound is incredible ... I think I'll have a new company car soon.
I have a Misano Blue one here in the UK. I would say the paddles column mounted is perfection. I had a performance Seat Cupra with steering wheel mounted paddles and being on the wheel is nowhere as good as on column. Besides, the paddles are so big on the QV they’re never hard to find!!
Love to see the excitement and grin as this is what it's all about. I have mine with lowered springs and spacers, with the valve controller to make those pipes sing in any mode. Alfa Romeo is not a car for tech heads or practicality. This is the greatest piece of engineering I've had the pleasure to own and as it is being discontinued, I'll never get rid of it. A masterpiece. The last of a dying breed.
Yes🍀
I have this cars since two months, but It’s always so good to feel how it sounds when it pass! ❤
Filmed somewhere in Gippsland near Grand Ridge or Warragul to Phillip Island? Great review, I have a BRZ, clutch and box are worst part, diff gives great drive out of corners, safety with eye sight is very good. Brembo brakes and better dampers are worth the money, ride is quite supple. If you are going to change dampers, I’ve put gold Konis on two cars and they are magic. They are slow of the mark and will get dragged off by anything with an auto box but once moving they hold speed beautifully.
It certainly was filmed around that part of the world! Thanks very much, and great to hear the Konis add some suppleness 👍
Shame it's the final Stelvio QV 🍀
Does anyone think I need a therapist? I have 2017 a competezione red Guilia Quattroformaggio. Its so good, I traded in my Maserati Levante for a Stelvio Quattroformaggio. In this same Montreal verde colour... I honestly think I am the luckiest man in Oz. Or, maybe I am such an Alfaholic I need a therapist!
Sounds like a brilliant decision to me. What a mega two-car garage!
I did the same 😊 swapped my levante for the QV
@@Sport_Plus_Car Muchas Gracias Signor.
@@2wheelsofgrimsby516 congratulations. How lucky are we?!??!
No Therapist Required! The ownership of this great car is the Therapy . On the other hand , I require higher level of therapy because I’m procrastinating my QV upgrade. 5 years and 180k’s in super reliable Stelvio Diesel I can’t part with it. I destroy it everyday and it still runs like dream. Then service time comes around and they give me a damn QV as a loaner.😮💨 I think I have to get one ( and keep the diesel as well)😳
