This is BS. I own a Tesla and what this video is misinformation. I wonder who is funding this stuff.

I work at a Certified TESLA facility. The cost of parts IS NOT why repairs are so expensive on these cars. It is because the rate to work on TESLA's is $125/hr for body and for paint, versus the average here in MA of $45/hr. Parts on TESLA are not anymore expensive than parts of a BMW or a Mercedes, in some cases parts are considerably cheaper. Shops that are not certified will not receive the benefits of buying parts at a wholesale price, should not charge the approved TESLA rate, and are limited to what parts they can buy. This video needs information from professionals who work on these cars, not bloggers who have no idea how the Auto Body Industry works.

You fell into the trap, believing that DC Fast Charging kills the battery. Multiple studies now of Tesla vehicles show that Tesla's charged at Superchargers > 90% of the time, have no notable difference in battery life than cars charged at Superchargers < 10% of the time. This is with cars > 100,000mi.

My opinion: The cost isn't worth it. And by the time the electric car is paid off, it will probably be old technology. Also, the infrastructure still isn't quite there yet to support electric cars at the same level as gasoline cars.

Hybrids are probably a more logical green choice while in transition to 'green'. remember all of the pollution from new production.

At the moment i could buy a decent £2K car for my son to get him back and forth to UNI and his part-time job. There are plenty solid, MOT'd and economical older cars which ,if serviced will last for years to come. This would not be possible if we all move to EV's as one costing £2K would need a new battery. This is all about controlling our freedom and mobility ,not to save the planet.
