This car is popular to modify in my country they sometimes put the 2zzge (mr2 engine), also the 4age blacktop and silvertop because is one of the easiest engines to put in these and alot more.

The center console armrest is NOT glued or stuck shut. The screws notoriously come loose. There are RUclips videos on how to fix, however, put your hand in the back of the armrest and push it forward while using your other hand to pull it up in front, while holding the clip. There are two different clips in front to open it.

Don't put bigger wheels on..... If u get bigger rims, get wider rims and throw away the spacers. On good for small rims, I've seen my friends is250 loose its whole wheel detached from the spacer, not cool, we thought the axle broke, but it was the lugs on spacer

Dude that car is mint. Honestly nothing beats the simplicity and humbleness of a small older Corolla like this. Cars like this just make sense to have. Good on fuel, easy to work on, cheap parts, they get you from point a to point b and Don't complain, and most of all they're dead on reliable. All the car really asks of you is oil changes and to drive them. I had a 89 Sentra that had over 300,000 miles and ran like a clock. I still have a 97 Sentra that has 312,000 on the clock and still runs just fine. The 97 is a little more sensitive since the engine is interference and has variable valve timing but still keeps going.

I sold my 89 LE with sunroof, all power and factory tachometer with dark grey Metallic color last year. It had 136,000 miles on it. Had top end rebuild including water pump, radiator, belts, hoses, etc done at 120,000 miles. I do regret selling my car, especially now since I haven't seen one exactly like it. Only DX models I see now and then. Sir, I put 15in rims and tires, and turbo thrush mufflers and I kept getting so many good offers that I had to jump on the one a Jamaican guy came with. I ended up selling for $2800. But like I said, regret it. Regular maintenance and it will run forever. My advice would be to keep it as long as possible. I paid $500 for it in 2005 from an older lady who was moving from Florida to Texas. She bought it new, i purchased it with 89,000 miles on it.

Reminds me of my moms 92 Corolla. She bought it new, then in 98' my sis had it, then in 2007 me, then my friends mom bought it in 2009, then another owner, finally I ran into it at the junkyard Feb. 2019 looking for parts to my current car. So sad, now its been crushed.
