I MET THIS GUY !
Thanks, Cody, that was pretty helpful.
I used to love these kinds of drills. I have found however, that they don't really hold alot of effectiveness in real fighting skills. Sure, they develop some touchy feely sensitivity stuff but the pressure of violence is lacking. Also, the drill should be practiced from the perspective of how you carry your blade. I mean, not everyone carries a full size blade, set up to draw in a reverse grip.

Very nice! I was doing Hema once and always wanted to integrate the "Bind" or "winden" into FMA. This seems to be one way to do it.
Interesting foot flow

I had the privilege of training muay thai and silat alongside a kali practicioner years ago. He toyed with us no matter what art or technique we used, but he could have finished us at his convenience. This stuff is efficient and it's very interesting to learn. Mindblowing really. Thank you Mr Chilson for sharing with us.
Thanks, I too trained Muy Thai For many years. There's a lot of crossover in mechanics but I would say that in my Opinion training any art in its oldest state where weapons were the main focus causes that difference. Muy Thai 's and Muy Buran values tactics and efficiency in the same way since they integrate sword work and strategies. To me its the same reason Bruce Lee studied fencing lines to apply his striking. Weapons make the empty hand better when integrated and pressure tested. Every martial Art I ever studied had an old style used for combat that had systems of weapons before being systemized and segregated for empty hand. I'm a nerd so I always made it a habit to research and practice aspects of those older combat skills and apply them to the current day systems. I found it caused me to re prioritize things in Matches and practical training. When I leaned into those new priorities then things tended to get very lopsided in the way you described.
Just like steven segal? No move and we just take it on the chin?
Have you looked into club bells, Indian clubs or similar? Very similar movements but with weight, the concept has been around for centuries. Not as a replacement but as a supplement to your art.
I'm a proud owner of Tuhon Ray Dionaldo custom sword set ⚔️ Hondo 🙏🏾 😂 "The Irish Spring soap gives the blade, fresh manly sent."

I love it ❤ I can see the difference between "Technique Intimacy" and "Carenza." Hondo 🙏🏾 FCS Forever
Years ago, I met a professional jazz horn player. He'd said to me, "If I wanted to "KNOW' 👉🏾 "HOW" a man THINKS, I would give him a horn (stick) and have him PLAY it." So, I'd asked myself, Q: Is this a carenza? A: No, it's not because Carenza is a personalized self-expression of mathematical and musical movements as illustrated by the Conductor, Guro, or Novice. On-the-other-hand, Guro Cody 💥 your martial intimacy with the 64 strokes created a "fishbowl" of self-expression that ever evolves. It contains a phoenix 🔥 whose ripples are felt around the world. Hondo 🙏🏾
Why you keep putting out these awesome instructional for free, I don't know. But great stuff, thank ya brother! Always nice seeing Jason put in some extra work 👌

Allway great content thks Guru ...cheers Tom Witcomb
Yo! Some day we will all be fish in crystal clear water
Great work 👏. Double stick TD or Tapi Tapi is my nightmare. I have often wondered what the purpose of it is. Now I just wonder how long this technique will survive in a world where nobody has time.
Thanks, Its just an elaborate way to move in and out of ranges. At its core If I want my student to use it it a real way ,I just have them hold up their guard up and move in and out of range without getting hit in the head from dropping their hands while I swing a stick at em. All the extra stuff to me is just how artistic do you wanna get. The original Idea was Just to get used to applying techniques while moving, that way the gap to using it in reality is smaller than if you only worked static positions. GM Bruce Chu told me that when they were working out he asked Proff Presas during Tapi Tapi what use it had for fighting and Proff said "well if we were fighting I guess Id do this" and he stopped the drill , grabbed him by the throat and choke slammed Bruce on the ground and said "But now your dead, and I have no one to play with" So its just a way to play with ideas in a less boring and more Movement focused way. I was told that for himself , Proff. wasnt interested in patterns with it , he was free flowing with the intent to refine his ability to "control the battle space"
Great technique,I like this.
Sinawali is driven by perpetual motion, "moving forward," 3 dimensionally into combat. It's an art within an art. Hondo 🙏🏾 Thank you sir.
Nice Cody, Lol.😀👍🏼🙏🏼
New York is watching and we like it
Kumbate agaw like my mother and her two brothers
cool flow.
I like the split cam format.
yea, I'm thinking of getting a designated high-angle camera for over-the-top stuff. It seems to help show body positioning better and give a better view of certain techniques.
Wow!! Very nice!!! ❤❤
