Well, some people pry off the noise maker and make it silent!
NOT pronounced "cun-den-sate" Try "Con-Den-Sate" # syllables.
ive gone every inch of my house from the outside and no pipe can be found anywhere.
man watching all that cellulose dust, im glad i decided to just go with fiberglass. i really did like the extra R value from cellulose though
I have prepared toaster pizza and I am not sorry.
Well, I wish you were here because I have a bit of a musty smell in my little house here when I leave and come back I really notice it and when I open the kitchen cabinet sink doors it smells pretty strong in there and I have no idea why. I really don’t think it’s the smell of mould or anything like that. It’s just got a musty smell.

Excellent troubleshoot! Love how you proceeded step by step and reasoned where to look next. Understanding all of the subsystems in a house is how to visualize how & where a problem might be happening. (Wouldn't it be useful if we were educated in school about how a modern house is constructed & how all of its subsystems actually work?) Homeowners: many contractors will rip you off in a heartbeat. Of course they can recommend a hugely expensive "solution" to your problem that may or may not actually do anything to solve it. Caveat emptor! Example1: had a problem with an old-fashioned push button light switch that delivered a shock when activated. Electrician recommended a rewire of that branch back to the main distribution panel in the basement for $7,000! (Cement floors at 2 levels where a problem.) Decided to troubleshoot it myself before contracting with him. Found old style armored cable in the wall & ceiling. The insulation on one wire had crumbled off, due to age, and the wire was shorting to the junction box when the switch was pressed. Wrapped it with electrical tape. Problem fixed for less than 1$! Example2: found water on the floor underneath the gas boiler for the old steam heating system. Two different plumbers said the boiler was cracked and needed replacing. Cost estimate was $6,500! Asked neighbor if he had a reliable plumber who could also look at the problem. He brought over a nice Hispanic gentleman who looked at the problem for 10-15 minutes and said "the water is from the pressure relief valve. It opened to relieve a high pressure fault, and the boiler doesn't appear cracked." Long story short, the condensate return pipe was clogged and was rusting so badly it needed replacing. Savings over $4,000! The list goes on. Best to get a second and even third opinion before you reach for your checkbook.
In 1980, my parents acquired our termite (dry woods), roach, silver fish, spider, rat and bee infested house for $1. Then they had it relocated to a new lot. Then they rewired, wall papered, carpeted added drapes, painted it an put in junk cabinets. It was built in 1940 and has been lived in by several families, before we got it. To our sorrow, my dad died in the living room. I and my family bought the mortgage and moved in (1988). I believe the horrible stench in the downstairs bedroom is vintage mold, roach/termite/rat and vermin poop. I hired a Mr fixit guy to help me get the smell out so we could remodel that room up to livability again. we tore off the old wood lath and plaster and got rid of the old parts and voluminous quantities of this smelly blackish brown poop powder. The smell is better, but not gone enough. I want to put a vapor barrier between me and the old wall. What can I do?
I wish you were local!
That's a damn fine video! Great detective work.
I have DiversiTech CP-22 Pump on my A/C unit (was install everything new including duct work less than 4 years ago and I rarely use the A/C). The pump turns on but it doesn't seem to pump the water out to the outside so I took it out and it looks brand new and tested the following scenarios: - Tested outside and obviously the water rushing out - Using the compressor to blow the air through the drain coil and the air comes out at the other end so most likely it's not clogged. - Plugging it back w or w/o the one way valve, the pump turns on and I do see the water going through the clear plastic portion (only about 6" then it connects to the copper tube) but it doesn't come out to the outside of the house. I tested a day before and it comes out a little bit at some point. I am guessing the pump is not strong enough to push it through the 7' or 7.5' going up to the attic but not sure if it was a partial clogged coil or the pump itself. One would think that the coil is new when they install the whole brand new system including duct and duct registers.
Thanks for explaining it....mine is unfortunately plumbed backwards. It is over 15 years old and started to make noises about 3 years ago, I nevered flushed it nor did the previous owner....I will be replacing it later this year to avoid problems later. Thanks again.
You could try to flushing it now. It may stop making noises if you flush out a lot of debris.
I really don't get the benefit of blown in fiberglass then at all. It's 2-3x the price per bag, it has a worse R value and it really does not fare well against being stepped on.
You can't just compare the prices of 1 bag of cellulose the 1 bag of fiberglass. You need to compare the final coverage area and thickness that each bag yields. That way you can calculate the cost per square foot of say R50 of each product. My opinion: As far as the benefit of fiberglass, it all goes to the installer. It's much less messy (dusty) to install fiberglass. That's why most homes have it. And fiberglass marketing is a well oiled machine. It's much better than the cellulose one. And, they market to installers more than homeowners.
Awesome! I wonder if it was rusting and that was the smell mixed with stuff from the air that made the smell? Ive got a horrible smell in my laundry room and im loosing my mind. I thought it was the neighbors in my duplex cooking fish or durian. Ive even snaked my sewage line. Spray foamed around the edge of my house to the neighbors. And other things. Im wondering if my leaking washing machine thats got a rusted bottom plate like this one is the smell?
I can smell it only emitting in my only frequently used bathroom. Sink area. Under sink mainly. But it comes and goes. But it gets strong on bad days.

These beep-sounds is a no-buy reason for me. I love the idea of air fryers. But why always so loud sounds without the option to turn off the sounds when food is done.
Touching the panel with the front or back of your hand would make no difference. It’s called ‘let-go’ current for a reason.
My coworker told me the wrong lines one time.. I kind of questioned it, man.. what b.s. I thought, especially when after we figured it out he was just standing there all confused not sure what to do. I had those lines off and re-plumbed for the correct lines in record time so boss didn't come back and see how retarded we are.
Another trick, install the pump a few inches off the ground with a brick, so that you can remove it to clean easily. Do not crew into the heater, they break all the time.
I have a crucial step to add. Get some condensate line probiotic. it adds a bacterial which prevents algae formation so your condensate lines don't get clogged (then make a mess), and turn off your AC. it was $6 at lowes. Before that I had to use and air compressor to clear my lines every 2 weeks. Also make sure that the input line to your condensation pump has a P trap on it. Without a trap, air gets sucked through the drain line, leading to algae growth which causes the lines to clog. Also the $29 condensate pump is good for 9 feet of lift, and the $34 pump is good for 12feet of lift. Someone stuck a christmas tree in the attic and ran the line over that which was too much lift. It sucks to have a 4 ton AC run at a 40% duty cycle (and 92 degrees indoors) because someone wanted to save $5 when buying the condensate pump.
I'm looking into a smell problem. Glade I came to your channel. I'm investigating it and will get back to you on what I discover thanks for the guidance... joe...
I've never before heard an American put the emphasis on the 2nd syllable of "condensate"; its always on the first: CON-densate.

THANK YOU. This noise is extremely annoying, especially as you already get the message via the app. It would be enough for me if you could reduce the volume, because the signal is really scary and unnecessarily loud. Thanks to you, at least now I know what to do. Thank you, you are my hero.
Great video! We get a septic smell in one bathroom in our new house. It only happens when there is a wind/temperature inversion. I have checked the sink trap and it is not dry. We get the smell outside the house too. I am guessing somehow there is a siphon/back pressure happening during weather events. Just not sure how it is getting into the bathroom. Considering trying an odor hog to see if that helps. Any suggestions welcome!

Good author
Wow
Excellent, very straight forward explanation! Thank you.
does polarity matter when the appliance you're using require you to touch it like a waffler when it's on
The device grounding is independent of the polarity so it does not matter.
@@okaro6595 the waffle maker doesn't have a third ground pin only two polarized pins (one narrower than the other)
@@crimbo6993 Then it should be double insulated. If not it is dangerous as hell.
I remember the Marshall plan on December 30th
Solar generator live neutral reverse
Very good video....thanks so much Sr.
Unless you regularly shake your house around or walk the entire attic directly on the insulation, the amount of agitation and compression being done to both products is a little unrealistic.
Thank you Sir
Thank you very much, you explained that perfectly!
A little pot would take that shaking right away. Very nice video. Thank you.
