    😮This is really deceptive. The fine buttons on the face of the remote, underneath the side with the button battery, can notoriously come loose and not realign when you snap it closed. I have found that putting a piece of clear packing tape on the face of the remote keeps those buttons where they need to be as you manipulate the battery itself, which is not the easiest thing to pop out. He makes it sound way easier than it is. And woe to you if those little buttons fall out of their place. They are a real nightmare headache to realign. So #1 out clear take over the bottoms before you start. #2. Hold the solid side of the fob UP when cracking open the case. He holds it that way but doesn't point out why. Keep the control buttons Facing DOWN! If you hold the unit facing up when you twist the key to open it, it's easy for the little baby keys to pop loose and you are left in a real mess. Hold it so the keys are on the bottom, and the clear tape helps keep them in place. #3. To "just pop" that battery out, you need a small flat head screwdriver to get underneath it to pop out of the prongs that hold it. It makes it much easier. Yes his process is easy but not as simple as he makes it sound. Add my tricks of clear packing tape on the face, face the buttons downward facing, and a small screwdriver on hand will make it easier.

    Be careful to not pull the soft plastic part out of the hard plastic part of the key fob. I got it back together again, but it is a pain to get all of the small pieces lined up if they fall out.

      that's why I suggest putting a piece of chat packing tape over the face before you even open it up. If those little buttons get loose, with tape there, they won't go pinging across the room or table!

    I just purchased a passion vine from a garden centre and noticed gulf fritillary eggs and larvae on their passion vines for sale. I asked the people working there if I could take some eggs and larvae and they said yes. Glad to be starting raising gulf Frits as I’ve always wanted to due to them being quite exotic. AJ reminds me a lot like myself on how I could go up to a plant and find signs of caterpillars and the caterpillars themselves. Raising larvae can be both easy and hard. I always have a huge stockpile of leaves picked for my caterpillars so when they need more I can supply them with them if need be. Also I used plastic containers to raise mine in, kinda like a caterpillar high rise.

      Yeah similar I just bought a passion vine from a nursery and they said "look there yours comes with a caterpillar." One of the ladies asked if I wanted one from another plant and I said yes. They're cool with helping customers start the life cycle.

      Thanks for watching and commenting! You bring up a good point and I know the blue miracle Gro powder that you’re talking about. We have some ourselves, but I can tell you the two powders do appear to have a different appearance and consistency. However, I certainly can’t prove the difference with any certainty. I guess a lab test would have to prove it out. The bag does appear to be properly labeled though in terms of ingredients and what not. The ingredient labels are different and the nutrient mixes are different for sure.

    Gabby, hi this is Abi! Since you’re pretty educated on ladybugs, I figured you would be the right person for this question… So this morning I went out to my garden and saw something that looked like a ladybug but this one was YELLOW!?!? Is there such thing as yellow ladybugs or was that a different type of insect? Thank you, ABI ☺️

    • @hereshowyoudoitwithdadaj6926
      @hereshowyoudoitwithdadaj6926 2 года назад

      Thanks for writing! Yes, there are yellow ladybugs with and without spots. I saw one earlier today with spots. Common species you may see are the 14- and 22-spotted ladybugs which come in many color variations. Happy gardening! -Gabby

    So miracle gro isn't good for elephant ears?

    • @hereshowyoudoitwithdadaj6926
      @hereshowyoudoitwithdadaj6926 2 года назад

      It’s not that Miracle Gro won’t work-it certainly will, and I can’t really see it being harmful either. We use an “all purpose” Miracle Gro product for some of our other plants and that one happens to be a 24-8-16 ratio (NPK, Nitrogen-Phosphorous-Potassium). We prefer to use a balanced 20-10-20 fertilizer that’s specifically formulated with additional trace elements for elephant ears (Elephant Ear fuel from Wellspring Gardens). We receive no payments or incentives to promote that product. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Would any of the fertiliser be absorbed through the leaves if you watered them?

    • @hereshowyoudoitwithdadaj6926
      @hereshowyoudoitwithdadaj6926 2 года назад

      I wouldn’t count on absorption through the leaves. Best to fertilize at the base of the plant in order to target the root system. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    How often do you water it

    • @hereshowyoudoitwithdadaj6926
      @hereshowyoudoitwithdadaj6926 2 года назад

      Since the plants are well established, we don’t make any special effort to water them. However, they are serviced by sprinkler irrigation (with the rest of the flower beds) twice per week. They also receive plenty of water run off from the roof. With most elephant ear species, it’s also important to ensure they don’t get too much sunlight because the leaves will burn.
