Wow thanks, no matter if you’re 40 or whatever, after reading Dobbie Nerkstrol's guide, I ended up pleasantly surprised. Within 60 days anyone can get pregnant, feeling the changes in your body the first few weeks. After go’ogling her I understood it's not a miracle kind of thing like the title suggests, but you can bet you'll boost your chances.

Hello, I am currently in my 4th pregnancy and am high risk in every pregnancy due to a short cervix length. I never needed or had a cervical cerclage, as I made it full term using vaginal progesterone for 3 pregnancies. At my routine 16 week vaginal ultrasound to take first cervical measurement, my OBGYN discovered a vessel covering my cervical OS. She determined that the rate was matching my heart rate versus fetal heart rate. But is unsure with her diagnosis. I have a scheduled 18 week appointment for a another vaginal ultrasound at a specialist to determine what is going on. I first would like to say, I've been trying to educate myself for the purpose of having an understanding of this possible new diagnosis, and your video, is the best explained, give me the details I need to help me understand. My questions are, considering I already have a short cervix, if diagnosed with this condition, does having a short cervix affect the Vasa previa? If so, and what ways? My last question is, you give the information on the outcomes if Vasa Previa is diagnosed, can be managed and possibly admitted at 32 weeks. My question is, isn't there a possibility of a spontaneous rupture of the vessel, still resulting in fetal death? I do not understand why they say there is a 99% success rate, if this condition is diagnosed, if there's a possibility that the mother can have a spontaneous rupture? If you are able to respond and answer these questions it would be much appreciated . Thank you

Hello, I am 35 years old.and its my first pregnancy. İn the week of 11+4 ultrasound scan came out quite well, even looking at the nuchal thickness and nasal bone, I can say that the baby is 70 percent healthy, my perinatalog doctor said. However, as a result of the double test performed that week, trisomy 13/18 : 1:50 came out. Nipt test was performed in my 14th week and the result was trisomy 9 high risk. When examined by ultrasound at regular intervals, no anamoli was seen in the baby. I received genetic counselling and the doctor said that this result indicates baby could be 99% healthy, 1% mosaic trisomy 9. And he said it could possibly be mosaism limited to the placenta. I will go to a specialist perinetologist at 16+3 weeks of pregnancy to consult whether I need to have amniocentesis and for repeat ultrasound examinations. Also, the baby is 4 days ahead in terms of development. Have you come across a case progressing in this way? You will be doing a great favour if you share your risks, information and comments.

Thank you for the very informative session!!! I and other I know have had bad experiences woth doctors that don't really pay attention to each individual and their medical conditions. Therefore I am trying to educate myself to be treated correctly and ask certain things if my doctor doesn't sugguest it. I feel pretty overwhelmed about getting pregnant and my pre-diabetic condition, which also could have been avoided a year ago. Once again thank you for putting out this educational information.

Great explanation of how anxiety plays into pregnancy, thanks for this...as he mentions, there are a lot of triggers for anxiety present in the pregnancy process. I personally benefit from mindfulness meditation. The book "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels as a nice help for learning mindfulness basics. I'm sure there are many books and sites with exercises to try, but it's so important to still the mind every day even for just 5 minutes.

Currently women using their own frozen eggs in treatment have a success rate of 18% (30% with frozen donor eggs), which offers no guarantee of achieving a successful pregnancy and birth. There is always a chance that the embryo will not survive a thaw due to outside factors that cannot be controlled Egg freezing can provide hope for a future pregnancy, but there's no guarantee of success Wow EEEENNNNOOORRRMMMOOUUUSS REALITY CHECK BITCH!!!! U see this was once a man's world and will always be a man's world. adding more to this fact -When you want to use your frozen eggs, they'll be thawed, fertilized with sperm in a lab, and implanted in your or a gestational carrier's uterus. Your health care team might recommend using a fertilization technique called intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) now u see her point was women using egg freezing needed no men but in reality women do need sperm to fertilize it.

I appreciated hearing your conversation, especially as someone who got flagged for Monosomy X in an NIPT last week and will be getting my amnio Jan 11th. I do think it’s incredibly irresponsible to not present these results without properly counseling patients on PPV. Especially when recommending the type of diagnostic test to follow. Like Tamar said, providers must take a nuanced approach. In my case, I also had a completely normal NT scan yet the MFM doctor insisted that I needed to get a CVS done, without explaining or taking into account CPM, and the risks of possibility having to get both a CVS and amnio anyway. I asked to speak to a genetic counselor and she said they don’t have one on staff and the doctors only instance they would refer me to one is after a positive diagnostic test. Because I know someone who had a false positive NIPT, I sought out second options at Weill Cornell and Beth Israel. Not only do both of these institutions *require* genetic counseling before any diagnostic tests, neither one recommended a CVS in this specific case as Monosomy X tends to happen more often in the placenta and not the fetus and I had a normal NT. Not only that, Beth Israel strongly recommended the CVS given risks associated with the possibility of having to also get an amnio done, as well as the emotional toll another possible false positive could have on a pregnant woman. So while I won’t know my diagnosis for a few more weeks, after speaking with a genetic counselor that I had to seek out myself at the lab that performed this test, as well as with experts at those 2 hospitals, I understand the low PPV in my specific case, and I was able to make an informed decision on which diagnostic test to get. Never mind my mindset completely changed from complete doom to cautiously optimistic. NIPTs can be a great tool, but there needs to be a greater effort at the national level on establishing guidelines on how to properly inform women of what the results could mean before the test even happens and how to do proper counseling after abnormal results (preferably with a genetic counselor involved), and what the appropriate diagnostic test offered should be for different trisomies and monosomies.

    • @lisis84

Ugh, that STORY about Dr Jung's niece and what the doula said to her. This is my whole position on the topic as an educator. We need to be writing a new narrative - one that is supportive and embraces a woman's right to choose, and her right to protect her mental health. It's as though all birth workers have been similarly brainwashed into this mentality that had a doula saying to a woman without breasts, "HOW are you going to breastfeed??" Disturbing. The opposite of doula behavior by definition.

What I didn't hear you two say is that by 6 months 75% of women are COMBINATION feeding. Those rates are not so great, but of course, we can blame that on difficulties maintaining pumping when back at work. The problem is, when the culture has so vilified formula feeding, there is going to be an emotional reaction to that shift. Lactivism has contributed to our extremely high rates of postpartum depression and anxiety.
