***********This is why God said David was a man after his own heart. Look at David's reaction to his sin of adultery versus Steve Lawson's. The difference between the two is striking. One has a broken heart towards sin, while the other seems to still be running from it. The Lord knows the difference. I pray Steve would repent and turn, and he and his family and church would be healed. When an unbeliever points at this and says, "Look, I told you that they were hypocrites!" We get the privilege of pointing people back to Jesus and say, 'You're right, we are......but He isn't" So if Steve repents and turns or doesn't either way Jesus gets the glory because of who he is and what he's done for all of us. May Jesus Christ be glorified even in this. To the unbeliever reading this, the church is not a museum for saints, it's a hospital for sinners. I pray that Steve would allow Jesus, who is our only doctor, to do his doctors work.

Sin doesn't happen without warning. You may take time to get to a place. One hiccup doesn't go on for years.

Praise God!! We have a loving and merciful God. We all have fallen short. Praise God we can repent and not be cast out!! We have to help each other cross the finish line. Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy. We can't be hard hearted. God showed me I'm a pharisee - I judged people harshly while I was guilty of the same things. I am here to testify Our Heavenly Father loves us so much and wants us to rejoice in Him, put away wickedness and love one another.

I read all the comments and just want to add that although I have never committed physical adultery, nevertheless I am still guilty of lusting in the past that makes me an adulterous at heart which is according to Christ as wicked as physical sin. It all originates from the heart. …… therefore we all are guilty.

I went to a sound doctrine church 2 years ago where the Pastor separated from his wife and moved in with another woman from the congregation. The majority of us left, but new people came to his congregation and he is still preaching sound doctrine. He is just living in adultery but nothing is stopping him from preaching. Not even the fear of God he claims to have.

If God gives him repentance, and convicts him of his sin, causing godly sorrow for it, and a seeking to be forgiven by Christ, why can he not be restored? Why can't the brethren graciously surround him as he has a time to not minister to others, but be ministered to? Then be restored whole again? Look at the full situation with him, and with his wife help to rebuild his marriage and a wall of accountability around him for his future? I hear almost a self righteous condemnation of you're done! Consider yourselves, those who would quickly kill the wounded: It was not just him involved, yet almost nothing is said of the other woman, which in effect protects her in her sin, even as the disgrace is heaped upon him endlessly. I believe this is wrong. There may have been other underlying problems that led to the weakness he had for this temptation. Scripture warns of several ways the devil can get advantage over us. Judge righteous judgment. Those who are directly involved and whose business it is to know, I ask you to help Bro. Lawson and his wife. I would want that if I was hurting so badly. Women today especially need to take heed to pray earnestly and reverence our own husbands. It is an evil, seducing generation of women today, and this is not called out enough in the church. Attitude, attire, controlling and manipulation is rampant. But the women of God should not be so.

My wife was cheating on me. She gave her testimony and a solo song on Sunday. On Monday, her secret was revealed, caught on camera. It was no hiccup. Gave her a 2nd chance, SHE CHEATED AGAIN...!!!

We need to pray for his repentance and healing and hope his family/children/grand kids are ok. He has been exposed and will Never be in leadership role. But we need to extend grace and not be more harsh than God. His sins have consequences and its a bitter pill. He will suffer shame and lost of reputation, income and etc. Satan is a roaring lion and he is our enemy. Let's pray for the fallen soldiers to come back and have a fear of God again.

That passage had nothing to do with affirming John the Baptist’s ministry. It was about affirming Jesus’s ministry! 16:43 That whole rant about not judging or holding preachers accountable is bizarre in relation to a passage asking whether Jesus was the Messiah or not. The comment Lawson made regarding soft clothes supposedly representing a message that is soft and effeminate is a disgusting misrepresentation of scripture. Royalty (those who are served) wore soft delicate clothing like silk while servants wore course durable clothing that would stand up to the work they did. John the Baptist didn’t wear course camel’s hair because his message was course. It was meant to be durable enough to live in the wilderness. Would you wear a silk suit on a hike in the wilderness? Wearing camel‘s hair showed that he was willing to be properly equipped without concern for man’s approval or his own comfort. I am so over these pastors misusing scripture for their own agendas.

He is more defensive and defiant than repentant. It speaks volumes that he thinks being held accountable is what hurt his witness and Christ’s message. Embracing sin does not lead to spiritual downfall. Spiritual downfall leads to embracing sin. He was following a false gospel anyway and I hope God uses this situation to guide him to the true Gospel.

This again illistrates the vast depths of the human heart. We will never know what sins are buried inside another person. Only God knows and that is what matters on judgement day. All sins will come to light when we face God. Therefore do not hold any human being above another.

Dr. Steve Lawson is a mighty preacher and speaker. I am very much impressed by his preaching. But it is hard to take the truth that he cannot keep his integrity. He was saved when he is seventeen. He was hard-working and devoted to his calling. But the darkness inside him is overlooked. It is sad that he broke the reputation he build for himself for so long.

No sir when you sin against God as the messenger, that is the reason why the legs get cut off the message

What he did is nothing compared to what David did.
