Vintage Reel to Reel Recorders. Restored, hopefully, to a factory specification or as close as was possible. I occasionally offer some recorders for sale, those that I have more then one or two off, but more then happy to swap for something I have not got in my collection yet, though this is quite difficult, as I have more then one hundred just in one room.
Because aesthetics are very important for me, I am now indulging in collecting used aluminium reels, mainly old Ampex and Zonal and some get anodized, others get powder coated or wet painted. This, of course, is a bit like with Marmite - you love it or you hate it. It was very difficult process, surprisingly, to put together a team that can do a dissent quality of workmanship, but I do think we have got it "all in place" now.
All the descriptions offered with machines on You Tube, are to "my best knowledge" and I do not wish to get entangled in arguments over small and unimportant details. Information is not easy to come by.

Teac X 7 R
Same as 10, but 7" maximum size of reels. I had endless problems with this machine. Would not work for a long time and I really was considering dropping it in a bin - it was a pain. Very expensive for a small machine @ Yen 155000

A much better then the R machine, having two tracks and 15 IPS speed. This one comes in an original box, which I dislike, as it makes it look like cheap furniture from Ikea. 1981 @ Yen 198000

Very popular machine at the time. No reverse and much simpler to restore because of that.

Last Consumer Teac made. A bit complicated to fix, but looks and sounds good.

In it's original flight case. The case itself became quite a rare item.

Identical to standard 1700, only made for Japanese market and very hard to find one for sale.

Probably one of most rare units, a 1700 in 7" format. Very pretty.

Very popular and very good machine with interchangeable head blocks.
