Major energy efficiency improvements from mechanical vapour recompression (MVR) for heat recovery
Jan Hemmerich from Piller Blowers and Compressors details the big role for for mechanical vapour recompression to recover industrial heat and raise its temperature even further so it can be used on other processes to achieve major energy savings.
Most industrial heat is currently delivered by fossil fuels. Mechnical vapour recompression will play a big role in enabling the electrification and decarbonisation of industry.

    It is scientifically impossible for greenhouse gas behavior to cause global warming. Global warming was officially stated at 1.1°C in 1991 and 1.06°C in 2022. The back of the United Nation's IPCC science report states it took its greenhouse gas samples at 20,000 meters altitude where it is common high school level knowledge there is no greenhouse radiant energy. This is typical practice for deceptive marketing to state legal data transparency protecting the perpetrators from fraud prosecution. The IPCC has been transparent with its data acknowledging it is not dealing with active greenhouse gases. Earth's greenhouse effect is frequently used as a primary example to high school students of a system always in saturation from the strong greenhouse gas water vapor absorbing all the greenhouse radiant energy from the earth with greenhouse gases within 20 meters of the radiating surface that is all around us everyday and can't have its overall effect changed. There is no further greenhouse radiant energy to interact with greenhouse gases. At 1% average tropospheric water vapor over 99% of earth’s greenhouse effect is from water vapor. Water vapor would hold earth's greenhouse effect in saturation if it were the only greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. Arctic warming is taking place with the proving mechanism being warm Atlantic Ocean waters migrating deeper and more frequently into the Arctic Ocean warming it and the region. That warmer water is causing a few weeks less of reflective snow and ice coverage resulting in more solar heat gain to the Arctic region surface. Atmospheric CO2 levels of 1200 ppm about three times what they are today would greatly invigorate C3 plants the majority of plant life on earth greatly greening the planet. 0.4% of the atmosphere is CO2 and on average 1% is H20 water vapor. (1% H20)/(0.4% CO2) = 25. Water vapor is 25 times more present in the atmosphere on average than CO2. Water vapor has an CO2e of 18, 18 X 25 = 450 CO2e total for water vapor to 1 CO2e for CO2. The Earth’s oceans have 3-1/2 million sea floor volcanic vents warming the water and changing it’s chemistry that have not been systematically accounted for.

    Is there any policy or carbon / power cutting incentives in countries that are pushing demand for high heat pump demand and therefore deployment and is there any in Australia. I could see cooling being a big demand case in Australia where ever higher summer temperatures (and some higher natural gas prices) driving lower carbon / higher COP value results that heat pumps could offer.

    Is there as much investment in making advanced "cool pumps" as I can see cooling being as big as heating (food preservation, cold temperature (data centres) spaces, large commercial use (pharma/chemicals/Hotels/Shipping)

    Why is Norway such a leader in this - is it demand from the oil and gas industry or access to cheap hydro power or large district heating demand for lower carbon heat output. I can see a demand for hot water in such a cold climate but Norway is not an industrial high industry market (say unlike Germany as an example)

    • @rudid3227
      @rudid3227 8 месяцев назад

      I would guess it has to do with taxes on natural gas and relatively cheap electricity from hydro.

      @@stephendoherty8291 I think in Norway most households use heat pumps for heating these days. Makes a lot of sense: selling that shit to the foreigners and developing awesome technology for its own citizens.

    Does Australia not offer the potential to near offset all daytime power use by using solar at a rooftop and for those with no roofs- utility scale. Would solar thermal not offer the heat needed to generate the heat (if insulated) . If low temp heat was free and near limitless not offer most heat demands bar high industrial heat demand. Why would plentiful renewable power not offer the power needed for heat demands (much of which in daytime solar duck curves offer the lower power costs to generate any heat needed?

    Thanks for the great video on the need for energy efficiency. Can you clarify your first slide (3:53) "What does it take to be carbon neutral"? - Offset projects generally don't eliminate remaining emissions, they reduce existing emissions (for example, projects to reduce deforestation, eliminate fuel-based cookstoves etc). Even industrial CCS is about removing *some* of the CO2 from fossil fuel burning and so reducing the rate of new emissions. All good stuff (like your wind turbine graphic) but, of itself, it does not get us to net zero. To do that, we will surely need genuine carbon reduction technologies that actually reduce CO2 from the status quo, not just reducing future emissions. Today I see very few of these.
