The Star Trek Audio Theater presents: "The Time Stealers" (enhanced TOS edition)
The crew of the Enterprise meet up with a powerful foe...but with TOS Music elements
Well, folks, this will be my last one of these for awhile. This one takes a TOS Season 2 dynamic.
Sorry for any pops in the recording. The source material i first used was too "hot" and by the time I realized it, I had to start over with one that had more pops but better fidelity. I have to edit these out "by hand" as it were.
As always I do not own or make any money off this, I do it for me, and for you, the folks who appreciate my efforts. I will be back to do this episode again, but as a TOS version.

This is an enhanced audio presentation of the 1975 Peter Pan Records production of "The Crier In Emptiness" This story has now been made to recreate a Star Trek Episode, Audio speaking of course. All of what you hear is copywritten by CBS and Paramount....I just made it all come together:-)
Where did this come from originally?
A record set that was released in 1975 by Peter Pan Records thru their Power Records sub label. I added anything that sounded TOS original😊

I got this, the Man-Thing clown story, and a Batman/Joker story on Christmas of 76, I think. Haven't heard any of them in 40+ years. I found the Man-Thing story and this one. Hope I find the Batman story. Thanks.

Just present the LPs as originally intended instead of ruining them. It's great you own the original soundtrack & know how to edit, but people want to hear the original version, not the show-offy version.
adding to original LP sucks. Hope there's an unscathed version somewhere.
This was my first ST Peter Pan record I heard. (I have the actual record and comics around the apartment somewhere). They were pretty well written. Was any ever made for the other versions of ST.
The actors who worked on the Power Records audio adaptation did a credible job, even if they weren't Landau, Bain & Co.
I agree with ya…they got the cadence pretty close.

I used to have this album as a kid! Miss it! These "enhanced" versions of Crier, Veritas, and Moauv do not do those stories justice. Although it makes them sound more like the original TV series(late 1960s), I find such added effects distracting, especially if listening to the stories in a noisier environment
I used the com-lock locator beam to bring me back here. I'm sad to say it, but I've always liked this Jack Tanner voice actor better than Brian Blessed.
I am 53 and when I was a kid, I had the LP (vinyl) of this story. So glad to have found it! Thanks for uploading!

Fun fact: the blonde in the picture is supposed to be Uhura. Apparently many of these PowerRecord LPs came with comicbook read-alongs (this one did not) drawn by people who had never seen the show; Uhura, Chekov & Sulu (among many other things) were drawn WAY off model.
Let's not forget the black Sulu. I think they finally got it right in later comic books.
Good story, But is it cannon?
No....this was made for children in the mid 1970's, and is an original story. I really miss this kind of stuff....children were not treated as babies....they had access to 'Adult' intellect level of entertainment. Sadly, this is sorely lacking today.

Wow-- talk about memories! I had this record when I was just a little stinker. I don't remember it having actual show music spliced in, though.
It didn't. That was done by yours, truly.
Search parties? Nets?!? Did the crew forget that the ship has sensors and force fields and a transporter? Also, a cut that will "eventually" stop bleeding is inconsistent with the medical technology of the time which could immediately heal such wounds. I had one of these Star Trek records as a kid, though not this particular episode. But I had forgotten how little attention the writers paid to the established facts of the Star Trek universe. Please note that my comments here definitely do not constitute nitpicking over some arcane points of canon. Rather, I express well-founded disappointment at the total disregard shown to the basic elements of the fictional world in which this story is supposedly set. On the positive side, the actor playing Bones sounds very good.

I remember seeing how they drew scotty and being confused in one of these gold key comics...but obviously thats not uhura on the cover thats the other comm officer who there in s 3.

Thanks, Stormy for the kind words:-) I would love to do more, Stormy, but the ones that remain are not ones I listen to. Besides, it would be hard for me to "adapt" them due to lack of source material to do so, Music, sound fx, ect. The closest would be Superman or Batman, and I would have to fashion them on the old TV shows. I know that you mentioned enough music and FX exist, but I guess I just don't that the pressing need to do so for the DC material.
I hope he can find it in his heart to unenhance them.
Pretty sure Gene Colan drew that. He's best known as the the cartoonist for Marvel comics Tomb of Dracula.

Thanks for posting this, it was my first taste of live action scifi as a child, beforehand it was puppets and first gen muppet type creatures . I do remember being hooked by season 1 but I really loved Maya and her metamorphic powers in the second season , it really upped the excitement and action for them to have a real alien travelling with them , a strong , intelligent female role model . Watching it now Maya and Tony were brought in to try and catch a younger audience as Keonig and Russell were on the older side. I will always wonder if the salaries being paid to Landau and Bain was a factor in the cancellation of the series plus how well did "the stars" take the addition and changes to the cast?.

In this rare 15 minute audio adventure of Star Trek, Kirk and Spock are sent to a meeting with the Klingons and Romulan embassy in an effort of peaceful (for once) diplomacy. But a little problem has interfered, by the name of Jack Sprat, aka Coriolanus Quince, the nuisance who once turned a planet's water supply into fruity pink Jello. Now his latest foray into causing political chaos involves serving a wine with a special serum placed inside by Sprat himself, where those who drink it, tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing else! The wine REALLY gets tongues to loosen up--too much. Jack Sprat eats no fat, but he does know a thing or two about drinks!!! Can Kirk teach the little imp about... responsible drinking...and the best way to solve crises WITHOUT too much honesty? Because honesty, while good, should never be used as a destructive weapon. The title, In Vino Veritas, is from the Latin for "In vintage, truth." Just be careful of your speech afterwards! (And when in Starfleet, choose a designated driver for your Shuttlecraft.)
I love that original TV episode (such a fan favorite), especially the inclusion of the mournful Adagio in G Minor by Albinoni.

I had this as a kid. It always creeped me out though! I had several other records like Hulk, Spiderman, etc. This one reminds me so much of my childhood.

@@rubenskeens6644 I have about 4 Star Trek enhanced adventures, and 6 Space:1999 ones. I have not done some of the Trek stories due to not a fan of them, or in the case of "Logistics of a Stampede" that wouldn't make a good candidate for enhancement due to the fact there is not much time on the Enterprise, so the sound fxs would be minimal at the very least. If you want to listen to the remainder, just check out my channel:)

Another fellow gave it the treatment years ago, but i think my version will do a hair better....Stay tuned:-)

This has so much sentimental value you do not even know believe it or not I still have the 45 record inside of the booklet that my mother bought for me out of a store called Sprouts Reitz.. Believe it or not this is the only thing she ever got me haven't talked to her in years and I still have it and this is no bull shit thank you.. She bought me this sometime in the later 70s but I really do still have it
