You deliberately pass the rope and ski on a closed trail. There can be many good reasons why a trail is closed that you don't know. Why is it so hard for you to understand that you are violating the rules and that this can have consequences? Don't whine so much and own your fault.

These ski patrol guys need to go F themselves at times. I don't have to give you anything, and I'm not DETAINED... you're not a cop. If the mountain chooses to ban me fine... reach out and tell me next time I go to buy a ticket that I'm no longer allowed on the mountain. I'm not stopping for your ass when I'm skiing perfectly fine down an already ridiculously overpriced mountain.

It was annoying when the video went to slow motion and I didn't see what happened next. Did you get away from the dbag patrol or did he follow through with his threat to pull your pass? Sadly, I had a similar encounter at Jiminy when I passed a ski patrol. (He had people stopped and I wasn't sure what he was doing because I couldn't hear him). Ultimately, he didn't throw me off the mountain, but that was his threat and I was pretty ticked off. His TONE was similar to the patrol's in this video.

I would've just told him I got in via the open trail to skier's left, where there were no ropes. Or I'd have told him the truth - "Hey, over a foot of snow just fell, so I thought for sure this run was open and the rope was a mistake. And I'm not the only one - I just passed 3 other skiers." Seems like he was more pissed about your answer telling him the run should be open...

I have no idea what the issue was here. I grew up skiing in northern Michigan on hard pack and ice and prefer it to powder. The only closed runs I've ever encountered out west were due to avalanche conditions and that certainly wasn't the case here.

in Europe there is no such thing as a ski patrol. they just help in crashes and make a safety run at the end of the day to make sure everyone gets down. if you are off the open slopes it’s just your responsibility. you can ski everything 🎉

I’m so confused as to what happened. I live on the west coast at at my ski area I ride at, you can ski off a cliff and die if you want lol.

One time I accessed a closed trail via trees at Beaver Creek. It was chock full of powder. Got to the bottom and the patroller waves me over and says, "yeah, are you local?" I say "nope, come here every year with my family." I bet If I said I was local he would've taken my pass. Nice mountain but way too expensive these days...
