Is the Rogue Donkey worth the price? This reverse hyper GHD combo will take up less space than having both side-by-side, and give you the ability to do more exercises than what it is designed for. Thanks for waiting guys and I apologize for the format. As always, if you have questions, feel free to comment below. I will be putting out a few more reviews before black Friday, let me know if there...

New location with the best equipment in South Orange County! Come check us out!
Looks like a Nautilus hip and back machine from 1972 with a lever arm weight stack. But I want it.😁
Both are great if your rich!
I’ve got Crandall Fitness free motion jammer arms and love them ❤
Will rogue arms fit on rep racks?
Yeah bud you should have done more research. How did you buy it and not see on their own website there are actually 3 different versions of the exercise you can do ? You can also keep your knees bent and arch them over or do a straight leg version. Each version targets the glutes, lower back, and hamstrings differently. Also saying it’s good for beginners and older population when it is specifically marketed towards sports teams and strength coaches is laughable.
taken directly from there website "Achieving exceptional results in athletics requires specific training for the glutes, hamstrings and hip regions of our musculature. The Pendulum Reverse Glute-Ham gives the athlete the ability to isolate the glutes or hamstring, or train both simultaneously. Leg training is a critical component for optimal athletic performance. Options can be very limited when foot, ankle, shoulder, or back injuries occur. The Pendulum Reverse Glute-Ham will optimize your athletic health through a variety of training limitations.", with that said i don't understand why you would find offense in me describing how i use the equipment with my clients, i find it more curious why you would debate it being great on old folks because the machine was originally designed for top level athlete's, does that mean that old folks shouldn't use leg extensions or bb racks either?
This is one of my dream machines to own lol, never seen one in person but looks super cool. Awesome video!
thank you!
I own the Hammer Strength version. Love it. The ideal version is the Nautilus 2ST.
How much can be this machine ?
Tyler Hobson designed the Pendulum plate loaded equipment. Mike Gittleson long time Michigan Strength coach was instrumental in some of the research and development also. Great company!
Thanks! :)

Great review you gave actual use information that other channels don't give.
thank you, i appreciate the comment. it helps that i own a gym and train people as it gives a different perspective towards the equipment.
Love your channel. Can't understand why you don't have more followers. Why do you like the short arms better than the long? IF I was only going to buy 1 pair. Do you think the long or short are better? Thanks.
hi there!, prolly because i don't really push the channel and its more like a passion project of sharing info, with that said, the short arms are so much easier to use because they are easier to adjust, its easier to set up force angles (less trial and error), go short 100%, i will never buy long ones again personally.
@@squishgymschooloflifting2398 Thank you so much for getting back to me! I actually have a sorinex basecamp. So I am thinking about getting the shorter articulating rogue handles. Do these fit as well as the regular sorinex jammer arms on the sorinex rack? or do the rogue jammer arms fit better?
@@jimbin-yp8kw i talked to the guys at sorinex and they are releasing a new bracket for the handles, so you might wanna talk to them, and the rogues do fit on the sorinex.
Love it to own that
So the Articulate Arms are better than the standard arms when purchasing the 35” Short Lever arms?
the articulate handle is good for short and long, its just the superior handle choice atm.
How much do the cost?
How do you use a squat cage?
So glad u did this review of the Rogue and Sorinex jammers--answered my question about the ease of moving the Sorinex ones--seems reasonable about using the shorten ones as Matt Pendergraph has said the same Right now am liking the Stray Dog Strength ATR system but cannot find a review of their jammers--do you have an opinion on their lever system? Thanks
i have not purchased there jammer system but i am intrigued by there smaller portable jammer, i believe it might be a good option too
@@squishgymschooloflifting2398 thanks
Hey there, how should someone with excessive femoral retroversion approach this exercise?
most prolly would just need to have the feet point outward in a 25ish degree opening, when setting this exercise for individual differences your best shot is having someone who is educated troubleshoot the exercise with you. hope it helps.
great review. lots of info! do you know the total weight of this rack?
prolly around 3500 lbs, with the added power rack add another 300ish
Does prime has a belt squat attachment like rep fitness does?? I have 2 buldging disk and would love to do belt squats:) debating between rep and prime rack
they do not, I personally do not like belted squats for bulging disks, I prefer the mars bar and to perform Hatfield squats or a hip press machine from rogers
@@squishgymschooloflifting2398 Mars bars will still load my spine??
Looks great. Enjoy.
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the review! Im considering the selectorized version. Wanted and Apex, but the costs are much higher, the thing I'll be missing here is the jammer arms. Have you seen anyone try and use them on a Prime?
they would not work as all jammer adjustable systems require side holes (which if you drill them in it should work), now if you use the fixed jammers they are some models where the holes are in the back from the front and those would work
Fantastic equipment! Im getting green with envy here!
What’s the length of your build? Are those cross members bigger?
yes, they are 42 inches wide, the whole setup is like 12ft
@@squishgymschooloflifting2398 perfect thank you. I have been working with Alex. Putting the order in soon. I have to narrow down color
Great review. Any reason to get the plate loaded over Selectorized besides switching the Ratio?
the plate loaded is lighter to move around, that's about it
When everything arrived, did you notice a lot of scuff marks on your equipment (How was the packaging?). Do you know if Sorinex offers installation services? My gym is on the second floor and don’t want to mess with installing it myself. Thanks for the detailed review!
a little scuff on the lat pulldown machine, packaging is great(like really good), they do offer installation services but its expensive, frankly installing this is easy moving it around is the hard part (unless you got a team of strong dudes).
I have a Sorinex Power Rack which build quality is unmatched. However, 4.1k for this machine is overpriced and not worth it IMO. A plate and a back extension bench looks way more efficient.
worth is a subjective opinion, i agree its expensive but most good machines are gonna be between 2 and 4k. so that's basically the ballpark of gym machines, and a plate and a back extension machine does not cover the same strength curve as this machine. its used for different purposes and loading patterns. i don't recommend anyone buying this if they don't have a basic setup already covered (rack, bb, plates, dumbbells, etc.)
How does the reverse hyper work (of the donkey) in comparison with similar (straight) reverse hypers?
works pretty well, no functional difference imo
Great review! Very informative. Question... I know this thing is a beast, but I'm looking at a combo unit because I have limited space in my home gym. (I currently have a GHD and the Scout reverse hyper) Do you think it is probable to put this unit on lockable castor wheels to be able to pull out to use, and push into a corner when not in use?
Great Video!!
Thank you!
Hey Alexander I like this review, I am considering this rack, I have a question, if I get the double single stack option could I do cable cross overs or would it be to far apart?
chest cross would be fine. the adjustable columns starting weight would be too heavy for posterior delt work or rotator work however
What a piece of equipment! What a detailed review! Thank you.
How is it using the plate loaded version for light work like rear delt flys is the trolley too heavy like most plate loaded units!!!???
if you take out the pin it can be light enough, it really depends on your level of strength tho, if you do back fly's with 20 db's you should be able to use the cables for it
Alex I would like to know about the ROGUE Donkey DHD. I have 2 back surgeries and I am thinking about it as a mean yo strength my back. Thanks on advance. Deepdirk
Definitely! I'll be sure to deliver one for the Rogue Donkey
Probably the best rack on the market
it definitely is my favorite
This is the Rolls Royce of racks. Simply amazing bro BRAVO 🙌 Congratulations. This is my dream rack.
Sick set up my man, I don’t even want to know what that all cost .. ok ok I kinda do..
it was about 17k with the additions i did to it (shipping is sooo expensive)
Can you use the two pulldown stations as a cable crossover. Do they make an articulating swivel for them. Assuming the diff in ratio that may not be possible
I'm sure you could ask for the custom work, i personally wouldn't do that as it would give you marginal functionality, since the weight is 1:1 on the pulldown its hard to use for small muscles
Great video mate. How do you feel about the Rogue Monster Cave (FYI: In Canada Sorinex doesn't ship but Rogue does)
it seems to me like it can have similar functionality, with the adjustable cable column, however i feel the design is not as streamlined, the half rack works perfect for space and use, i find it unnecessary to add a removable full rack to it, granted my apex is wider than the standard model.
Is this machine safe to use with a disc issues
this is a very broad question to something that requires specificity, it depends what the pain triggers are for the person, someone who is intolerant to spinal extension would find this machine difficult to use (not impossible). i recommend you read the back mechanic from Stuart McGill if you are having back issues. i personally train tons of clients that have back pain on this machine, it is done with extreme focus on form and it is great, just requires the coaching.
Used one of these for the first time at the gym yesterday. I can't figure out how to work my glutes. I can only feel it in my back.
you need to know how to brace, fix the spine in place, and perform the hinge in control, if you do not know how to do this it would be difficult to use the machine correctly.
Awesome setup!! Can you tell me the distance from the end of the Barbell to the start of each cable column? I am trying to understand how tight it will be to add/subtract weight to the Barbell.
That depends on the apex you get, i got a modified one that is wider than normal, so i have no struggles with the space, id recommend you call sorinex and ask about witdh options!
@@squishgymschooloflifting2398 OK great! Thanks so much for your quick reply. I definitely plan on the wider one as well.
“Wita rAAk”
Great detailed review!
Glad you enjoyed it
For a home gym user, would you recommend this over the Apex rack? Both great reviews. The jammer arms and customization are the main things that would make me prefer Sorinex
It comes down to how much space you have, i prefer the apex 100%, but if your short on space do the prime rack
Your Apex Rack looks Awesome with the Rogue handles. Did Rogue Fitness, sell the Jammer Arm handles separately for your Apex Rack and how much did it come out to?
They didn't, i have 2 other pair of jammer arms in my gym, which are rogue fitness, call them and see if they will make a custom order
@@squishgymschooloflifting2398 THANK YOU
What is the height of tallest hole for the jcups? I am 6'6" and want to see if I am to tall to squat in this rack
77 inches, might be rough honestly, id recommend a sorinex base camp for you
great review, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
amazing video! how difficult is the assembly?
Super easy and simple, comes as a piece and you have to seperate the panels.
Is the pulley system as good as a stand alone functional trainer? What was shipping cost?
Well you have to compare to what functional trainer, if i get the pick just a cable functional trainer i would pick a freemotion, the primes rack advantage lies in its versatility (its still a good cable system), shipping is something honestly i would just talk to a prime rep about, it changes based on where you are, and recently prices have been fluctuating a lot.
@@squishgymschooloflifting2398 thank you for the response... I guess a better question is, is the prime pulley system on par with say a free motion? If not is close at least? Thanks again
@@02phenom close for sure. If not right up there.
@@squishgymschooloflifting2398 well that settles it for me! I’m getting one. Thank you.
What product do you use to keep the cables smooth?
3 in 1 oil
Are the lat pulldown and cable machine from Sorinex as well?
yeah of course, that's why its an apex rack, without the cable machines from them it would just be a rack.
@@squishgymschooloflifting2398 I appreciate it.
