I am not running a daycare, but have a five year old I'm homeschooling and twin nieces that come over at times. Having the room being like a daycare has been my passion since I was even a kid so I look up to those running daycares for all kinds of advice and I thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm making some floating shelves and everything to do everything I can to use the space that we got to make learning fun, etc.!

Do you have any videos on how to help a toddler adjust to being new at a center. I’m a mom and we moved to a new state. I feel bad for leaving my son at his daycare cause he cries as soon as we hit the parking lot. I’ll be moving him from this center for other reasons but want to help him with a smooth transition to the next one.

Might alao be a controversial response as well but if someone needs to use their phone for either to make a call or if they receive one, they usually have myself or the owner (if she isnt busy) come and relieve them. We had one lady whose daughter was in a very bad car accident and no one could a hold of the lady to let her know so they called the daycare and after that happened she made sure she had her ohone on her at all times. Our policy at the time was ohones were to be put away until after your shift is complete however the owners took into account what happened and changed the policy but then oeople took advantage of the new policy and it got changed again and again

I have a phone policy my assistant signs. If there is an emergency they will have to call the facility period. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Might be a controversial response, but if you MUST be on your phone, I just ask to go to the bathroom and check an important message in there. Then you also know there is coverage in your room while you safely step away.

Hello I haven't watched your whole show just yet but the caption says stop making excuses for your children or child. My problem is that mom is constantly making excuses for Hour 5 year old son. Now the problem that I have with my girlfriend is that I have a 7 year old daughter and a 5 year old son every time as meeting the biological father of the children every time my son does something and I get on to him she wants to tell me That I am coming down on him and that I need to consider that first of all he is a 5 year old and hasn't been in the world that long. The other thing that she tries to get me to see is that arson might have ADD or he might have autism. I have cameras in my house and I witnessed my son putting toys in his mouth and we have gotten on to him for that any anytime that I as the fatperform my duties as a father to rectify him from doing such activities as such she tells me That I am overreacting and somewhat going overboard with the authority. The big problem that I have with my girlfriend is that instead of working together as one and capitalizing on his actions she would much rather parent the parent Like for instance when my son does something and I catch him and telling him to do such she wants to first tell me that he's 5 years old and he doesn't understand what I am telling him. Yet he can operate a laptop he can operate the TV he knows how to go into the kitchen and turn on the water in the sink he knows how to open up the refrigerator and get something out but yet when he gets it he leaves the fragile door wide open. I tell her all the time that we are both his parents and we both need to come to an inclusion that he is trying to play His mom against me she tells me oh well you think your son has a motive to do harm to you. And I'm trying to tell her that little boys without authority grow up to be bad boys. Now I am 44 years old and I have other kids that I pay child support for but the mothers did not want me to be involved in their lives now I have 2 older kids sons that do not know how to become mean and they are still acting like spoiled children lying and trying to deceive their parents. This is a real problem in our community of the black community with mothers thinking that they no better than the father of the kids to their sons. I am a strong believer that it takes a father to raise a boy into a man. I am not saying that all women cannot raise a boy into a man however they become Unruly bad boys in prisincrease in drugs it's brogues and a lot of my peers that I have gone to school with that were raised by single Mother's a lot of them are either deceased or in the prisons. Please do not sweep this under the rug saying that this is not a known problem as black men we know other men and how they were raised by a mom and dad that are still very much alive and together in marriage and I turned out just fine never been artested never had any Harsh problems other than paying child support And I am completely done of that horrible is arbel at not only being alienated from my kids but my kids have no respect for their father as a result Being raised by single mothers.
