My grandma danced for ogunde group back then. She told me how supernatural this legends are. Pa ogunde, duro ladipo, oyin adejobi, Jimoh aliyu and more
Wow👏👏👏may the souls of all the departed rest in peace. Papa Ogunde, Papa Duro Ladipo, Papa Oyinadejobi and all other beautiful and dedicated souls who brought African Theatre to our enjoyment doors, RIP to all.
Pa. Duro Ladipo, one of the founding fathers of entertainment industries in Nigeria. I found this very educative and lovely Yoruba cultural values inside. Goose pumps all over me watching this and making me remember my primary school days. This things still aired so well on NTA Ibadan in the 80s and early 90s.
Although I was too young then to know and appreciate this great man's work, nonetheless, watching this documentary really demonstrates what a great talent this man was. Above all, I so much like his diction and his good command of English language. May God continue to uphold his entire household and all what he has left behind.
This a real theater , and a solid stage performance, not the one out there we are watching , in actual fact % 80 of nowadays, Nollywood actors and actresses cannot do a stage performance except room to room.
Great memories. Almost brought tears to my eyes. I cant only recognise Mama Abiodun Ladipo (Moremi) and Lere Paimo (Eda onile ola|). God bless the souls of the departed
Just watching what an icon of the yoruba nation i pray almighty Allah grant him aljannah fidau rest in peace omo oduduwa rere Baba Duro ladipo awa omo oduduwa imole adulawo ni wa a o si de ile ileri from the contraption called Nigeria a failed country.
Instead of focusing on the wonderful innovation and creativity of the man my fellow country men are talking about his good command of borrowed English language. He was just speaking English for the audience the video was supposed to serve. Back then people were proud of who they are. We are not talking about the originality his art is trying to portray even after being brainwashed in the church he went back to his roots and preserved masterpieces for generations to come. He didn't call yoruba a tribe like we demean ourselves today and both men and women maintained their natural beautiful looks that most of us are ashamed today.
@@OmolaraOjuri I'll be more concerned with a good command of our African language as Africans. In China nobody will care about about your good command of igbo or yoruba.
Religionism apart; in facts, We the Youths of today's have missed a lot. We have no knowledge of Cultures, traditions and heritages as well and We are proclaiming to be the Leaders of tommorow. What have We inheritance? Please Let's all support the creation of Oduduwa Nation. A word is enough for the wise. Yoruba ronu oo!
I was expecting to see mama awero, iya rainbow, pa aluwe, oga Belo and prince jide kosoko which I believe they are part of the group. May be they were too young or they have not join the group by then. What an epic documentary
Mo gbe de and its producers and the interviewers... a hertfelt thank you for all these fantastic videos and interviews! This is awesome. I learnt a great deal by just watching your program. Many wrongs have been rectified and shed new lights on most and many confusing innuendos. The facts are there and present in plain simple terms - by the actors themselves. Kudos!! E seun gidi-gidi...
Those are the days when theater group were being joined for the love and passion for it not to show off or feel among like it's been done nowadays, this is so informative and interesting God bless the publisher.
If we say ,,,gone are the days, shall we also say ,,gone were the people's of those days ? If they tried their best and gone,,,what happened to the legacy's behind? We should simply remembered them to continue from where they retired on our cultures. Every cultures are important but you just need to promote yours if you believed that. Thanks to all our Yoruba heroes past, we shall never forget them.
The play "Oba Koso" was aired on NTV Ibadan, now NTA Ibadan in the late 70s, between 1976-1979. Many other great plays were often aired then. I'm not sure those tapes were preserved. You can imagine this documentary was not done by Nigerians. Yet we can do it. We must keep records. Thanks for uploading. This made my day!
I didn’t know that was how Sango died wow he was so powerful why would people deserted him when he was still the king.
I sight very young eda onile ola at the end of the video
May his soul rest in perfect peace, The pride of OSOGBO
The continued mentioning of the ‘ Yoruba country’ . We Yoruba are a country in a country 😢
He repeatedly mentioned "Yoruba Country".....very powerful documentary
Kudos baba🙌
A new modern Sango movie is needed, last one I can remember was from the late 90's-00's.
My grandma danced for ogunde group back then. She told me how supernatural this legends are. Pa ogunde, duro ladipo, oyin adejobi, Jimoh aliyu and more
Is she still alive?
He said Yoruba country which means Yoruba was once a country
Epic, detailed and priceless... Pa Duro still is, a legend
Wow👏👏👏may the souls of all the departed rest in peace. Papa Ogunde, Papa Duro Ladipo, Papa Oyinadejobi and all other beautiful and dedicated souls who brought African Theatre to our enjoyment doors, RIP to all.
Nigerian and specifically Yoruba. Africa is a continent not a country
Iya caused the death of Sango. Though it was historical of Yoruba and women's life that shows woman cannot stand interm of problem.
Oya caused the death of Sango for frustrating him by her decision to left him alone
Am already addicted to this documentary, watching for like the 15th time now…:

curlier
Very graceful and eloquent.

Anyone took note of him constantly referring to western region as Yoruba country!
Good composer, singer and dancer. I like how he dances.

The best and most honest comment here. May Edumare continue to preserve and protect us ase o. Oba Koso! Oduduwa Nation.
He referred to Yoruba as a ' Yoruba country'
The good command of English can't be overlooked

Nigeria was better organised then.
