Hey bro what I think you meant to say Possessed was inspired by Slayer when it came to the demonic voices at the beginning of the song "burning in hell'because hell awaits came out in March of 85 and SC came out in October the same year now with that being said this album was definitely a bridge between thrash and what would become known as death metal today now with that being said back in 1985 just to get an album like this released with the backing of a label with intentions on turning a profit when they surely thought there was no profit to be made because it wasn't considered mainstream even for thrash was an accomplishment in itself now we live in a day and age when you can make a death metal album in your bedroom with very little equipment and for a album that wasn't selling off the shelves in droves became one of the biggest thrash metal albums of all time is legendary I just wish you could have heard it with my 1985 ears when there wasn't billions of extreme metal albums to compare thanks for the vid and keep is 🤢

Hi, thanks for the video. I'm trying to find any info about this great band. These guys should become death metal stars, because they played furious death/thrash stuff the same time when Chuck just released Scream Bloody Gore and Sepultura Morbid Visions. Somewhere the same time Morbid Angels just were trying to record the debut, and we had Possessed - and that's complete death metal scene to the beginnig of 1987. Necrophagia or Messiah sounded like kids if you compare. The top technique and creativiry of Devastation kick ass - what the hell happened to the band that they split up? The tape trading worked well, why did they appear to be unsigned to any label? Devastation is a cult band, they sound brutal even today! Any info.. what happened? Why did they split-up having this fantastic potential to become one of the best bands playing death metal of such a high quality...
