The go NorthEast bus strike continues and today talks between unite the union and go North East broke down with go NorthEast officials refusing to budge during negotiations.
In the following statement released by unite online, it is understood that the resolve of workers has not diminished and neither has the stubbornness of go NorthEast officials.

The bus fares are already sky high. Why does a journey that is only 3 or 4 stops costs over £2 for a single?

Not giving it to such a greedy company as Go Northeast, who make profits of £85 million but can’t be bothered to pay their drivers a decent wage and yet the highest paid director is paid over £118,000.
The highest paid director at Gordon Northeast was payed £185,000 in 2022. This is six times the amount of the average employee. As well as this, the go-ahead group chief executive Christian Scheyer received an unbelievable bonus of £540,000 for the year ending July 2022, bringing his salary to £976,000.
