    The R44 has a density altitude of 14,000 ft as well. Ive flown as high as 11,000 MSL (6000 AGL). I think the R66 has three seats in back but other than that, they are the same build

    R44 uses a Lycoming reciprocating engine, R66 uses a Rolls Royce Turbine Engine, also the R66 can max out at 14,000 ft where the R44 maxes around 7,000... main differences. When he goes over the startup procedure you can hear him mentioning N1, referring to speed of the first stage compressor in a turbine

    what is so much better about the 66 than the 44?

  • @FlingwingGolfer
    @FlingwingGolfer 12 лет назад

    @happyhouse152 but knowing robinson, there'll no doubt be a key for security reasons to turn on the power probably

    @amj54321 that's what it looks like. that's how you start a Bell 407, too, and a lot of other bigger helicopters too, for that matter. In the 407, you start the starting sequence by pushing the button once, then just modulate the fuel with the grip in the collective. real easy.

    @seaboo143 come do your training in the US, it's cheap by comparison, and schools will help you get a student visa. depending on your skills, to go from private, commercial, instrument, and instructor will cost you about $60 000. or, you could try the military in your country for training. it's never too late to start: average age of people starting flight training is in the low 30's...

    @seaboo143 it takes 9-18 months, but you will most likely never fly like this.

    so am i to understand you don't have to hold the R66's starter down until N1 reaches its self sustaining point? just one press and release?
