There's a mixture of wood here, the orange one is pine with loads of resin in it. The others are mostly willow.

I find that pine is more common and burns for slightly longer than willow So your probably best trying to look for it in pine forests with trees with broken branches or fallen or dead trees with the same, the latter is usually easier to extract fat wood from and won't damage a living tree

Yeah, I agree, but on this campout there was no pine trees as I was by the river. So my only option was the fat wood I brought, driftwood and the dead willow branches. Oak is my preferred tinder after starting with pine, makes for a perfect fire set up if available 💪🏻
