You guys are man babies. I realized my heros are tools when I watched "Some Kind of Monster" It's Metallicas DVD of their behind the scenes disaster, if you don't know?! You never want to know who the people you like really are in real life. Just like I liked Eddie Van Halen growing up. When you get to see who he really was?! I think he's still a genius. Just a jerk as well. I think these guys get so famous, rich so fast and young, they never grow up. All they did was tour and tour. Never had time. I don’t think James is worried about your side project affecting Metallica as much as wondering about you affecting your creative input on Metallica. Maybe it would’ve made it better who knows but you were definitely the perfect guy to replace Cliff if anybody could those were big shoes to fill.

I’ve listen to a Metallica forever just like the majority of people that are listening to Metallica.… I am a bit of an asshole when it comes to the music. I am willing to listen to. I am no longer willing to listen to Metallica.… I have found their music not to age well, and actually in hindsight. I think everybody was looking for something different to listen to when it comes to rock ‘n’ roll and somehow Metallica stepped in and got a hold of all of us.… This group has not been cool since the mid-80s and that’s OK. They are a train wreck but yes, they were quite entertaining and I do take my head off to them but no, I do not listen to them anymore, and I would not pay money to go see James do anything.… Which is hard to say, but it is a fact of life Metallica no longer turns me on
