On May 10, 2024, two member of Brass Transit, a nationally known touring group playing the songbook of Chicago, met with Cedarburg High School's band and choir students to discuss the music industry, their playing style and answer some questions.
Barbaro master class

The band Barbaro conducted a master class for the choirs of Cedarburg High School in September, 2023. The founder of Barbaro, Kyle Shelstad, is a 2008 alum of CHS. He and his band mates shared some of their musical wisdom and invited the class to jam along to one of their songs.

Dallas Brass - student performance

In April of 2018, the CHS band students performed with Dallas Brass. Students also attended a masterclass earlier in the day and learned different styles of music and performance strategy.

Matt Vee & the Killer Vee’s performed I AM…HE SAID - A Celebration of the Music of Neil Diamond - to a sold out crowd in March of 2023. The Cedarburg High School choirs were invited to join the band on stage to wrap up the show. The Visiting Artists Series strives to bring nationally-known talent to enlighten, educate and entertain.
Six Appeal with CHS choir

The a cappella group Six Appeal performed a sold out show at the CPAC in February, 2023. They invited the Cedarburg High School a cappella choirs to join them on stage for a song. The group worked with the students earlier in the day discussing style, performance and technique.

Interesting video, great instruction by Chris! I'm always surprised when there are so few comments on a fantastic video like this. I learned so much from listening to Chris improvising on that solo.

That was so wonderful and so sad. I'm so sorry to hear of John's beloved Mom's passing. And at such a difficult time in our lives too, during Covid. John is absolutely captivating. I took my Mom to see him last December at the Cedarburg PAC and we enjoyed it so much. I can't wait to see him in person again. What a talented and interesting man.
