Film History Digests is a web series created by Nathan Varner and chronicled popular culture's smaller and underrepresented parts. This project showcased collaboration, innovation, consistency, and determination for a small team. In return, we uncovered the decades-long mystery, shined a light on mental health, and provided a subtext of non-partisan political discourse all over a year. We're glad you're here.
Digests usually run 17 minutes or more on a 400 ft. reel; in some cases, digests are longer on multiple reels.

"...sillj hav Bvsch didd leik S.N.L. bat not Simpsons."
Beavis and butthead was doing reaction videos on their show reacting to music videos before youtubers was doing reaction videos on RUclips lol
I didn't like how you called the video games Duke Nukeem and Doom "computer games"
I'd love to hang out with Sean Beard
I don't want to sound mean but those kids at 7:38 look and sound really dumb
Funny how parents want to point the finger elsewhere rather than accept responsibility, especially when it turns out that there’s no link if the kid never seen the show to begin with! Maybe she started it herself, especially if the news was already there when the fire department showed up, seems like a setup to me!
Um you got to ask why would mommy and daddy let there kids watch an adult show, i have to wonder do they let there children watch XXX adult movies , i think people need to really stop and think it a tv or movie program clearly states adult content ot fo 17 yrs and up .
White LIFES MATTER
that 5 year old that started the fire.. he never even watched beavis and butthead.. the mother and the child came on to tv saying the news was putting a bad name on the show and using them to do it.. the kid even said it himself he never even seen the show..
Can you please tell me where you got the Jack Valeti cartoon from?
Winston taste good like a cigarette should
people hate the flinstones because of that smoking ad, I love it, it's so funny, and also who cares.
Is this turkey tom?
Yeah as a girl growing up in the '80's and '90's I never understood how it's ok for me to see boobs and bloody gory violence all the time but I can't see a boner or hear the F word five times in one movie without an R rating.
Yeah the news forgot to add that the mom left the kids alone in the trailer!!! Not to mention the fact you couldn't watch Beavis and Butt-Head if you didn't have MTV and you could only get MTV if you had cable. I didn't have cable because I grew up poor, I could only watch it if I was at a friend's house who had cable.
I remember watching cartoons as a kid with my sister and we would re enact them, like 1 day I put a shotgun in her face and she turned the barrel around whilst eating a carrot and I shot myself in the face, had a black face for weeks
I don’t remember an episode with an aerosol can and Beavis’s head being blown off
I'm so happy censorship is gone I can't wait for people who support censorship slowly go away
Hello I have subscribe to your RUclips Channel
Don't let a 5 year old watch them. Easy.
This video really deserves a lot more love (and not just because Schaf is in it), it’s such a great analysis of an amazing film. I feel bad for anyone who never got to see this in theaters, the scene in the burning village still gives me chills, and experiencing it in a theater was one of the most breathtaking yet horrifying scenes I’ve ever watched. This movie is really underrated and deserves more attention.
Thank you. i've written a new script, and noticed a few mistakes. If I could, I would update it for those reasons, but I'm glad people are still able to get something out of it like this. Thank you for the support!
Shitty parents always find another reason for their shitty parenting. I always think of Eminem, "And they blame it on Marilyn and the heroin / Where were the parents at? And look where it's at! / Middle America, now it's a tragedy."
the fire episode in the new season is freaking gold
It's interesting the generation raised on the Three Stooges, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry and Westerns had shit to say about Beavis and Butt-Head. I love all of this stuff to death but to think that there wasn't media before BnB that didn't have dumbass slapstick, violence and arsonry in it is retarded.
Huh huh huh, uh huh, huh huh
That mom was totally playing the media, she just wanted a payday sounds like.
It was "Christian Nationalist" propaganda.
I'm glad these butt muches are making a comeback.
anyone who says we have gotten too soft these days clearly didn’t remember how ppl thought Beavis and Butthead (which is very tame compared to alot of Adult Animation today) was too extreme
Yes responsible, something any parent who let there small child watch adult programing would know nothing about, if you let your television raise your child you can't expect things to go well, but if you cant be bothered to be a parent you don't care about such things I guess
I love Al TV!
Fun fact: My rural NC cable co-op took MTV completely off the lineup just because of this show, and the raving rants against it (presumably, those were in the form of letters to the editor, or something, back then...)
😎
'Parent': "I'm going to leave my kid by himself with a lighter. When he sets the home on fire, I'm going to leave the baby in there and then I'm going to tell everybody that it wasn't me that neglected my children, it was Beavis & Butthead, the babysitters I didn't hire to raise my children."
Get up off the ground and stop whining, you wuss!
I hope that for the new movie they’ve just done that’s coming out this Friday, they manage to deflate the ego of the spectrum of Americans on TikTok and Twitter who dress like freaks and talk about politics, making those Americans have sperg outs. EDIT: There's a scene about white privilege in it and hopefully it will have the same effect lol.
After hearing about kids playing with the fire after “watching” Bevis and Butthead, I though “maybe the parents should have monitored their children instead of blaming it on a show”.
One of the most underrated projects on RUclips. Deserved so much more reception than it got.
"Shyeah I guess" spoken like a true douche.
I think they could do the same style of show and still be relevant if they simply played videos of unknown underground artists. It could put a spotlight on bands and artists that most people would never otherwise never hear of. Something the old show managed to do for alot of bands like white zombie. It would be a win win for all sides and the ratings would be great
If Sean Beard has been "passionate about the boys since [he] was 5" then that dude must've been a heavy drug user or have bad genes or something. I was around 25 when B&B was in their heyday, and I look younger than he does. WTF.
It's such hypocrisy when people on the right are crying about woke leftist cancel culture and their assault on free speech, yet they were doing the exact same things in previous decades. They were routinely censoring and attempting to cancel anything that didn't fit in with their narrative. Both sides are as bad as each other.
If anything, this comment is woke! You know, the “question your government” kind based of woke, not whatever the cringe weaponized meaning it has these days
15:47, I wondered why there was water there underneath Stan. I have the season one dvds, and Shelly lighting Stan on fire and dousing him with water repeatedly was also cut out. Now I know.
somehow got goosebumps in the first 40 seconds
Someone's pressed on nirvana. Please stop looping songs
From Bedhead Bernie or bernievidz's review on the series.
Why was a FIVE YEAR OLD watching Beavis & Butthead?
How come you only have less than 1K subs when you have high quality videos? It doesn't really make sense (at least to me). With that being said, everyone should subscribe if they're interested with this kind of content.
