Bailey Range Traverse
Hiking the Bailey Range Traverse in Olympic National Park.
There are many variations possible for this traverse, we started at Sol Duc Falls and ended at the North Fork of the Quinault River. It took us 6 days.
Don’t underestimate this traverse or the commitment required. Once you are in it, the best way out is forward… if you mess up your route-finding you very well may need to backtrack a great distance and start rationing your food to get out. If you injure yourself, you may find yourself in a dangerous predicament (so don’t do stupid things like slide down a snow bank into an alpine lake on your inflatable air mattress).
