Soundtrack from American Beauty (1999). I thought it fit well. I lengthened the initial and final shots to better fit the music. Enjoy.

Holy shit! There's an uneasy vibe to the album. I dig it
Best song at 21:48
Yes fucking
thank you for uploading these
yo is ur name actually aylan??
I just now realized the fog is the shape of a ghost lol
This masterpiece is the mirror of what dave felt the last years of his life. The dark piano is his emotions , the vocals are cruel and angry somehow. The noise of guitars is a good decision. He always was making guitars sound noisey in studio recordings. Drums rhythms with the full picture of album so good. Its my most favorite album of all time!
It's an incredible album and also features some of the best rock songs I've ever heard, and I genuinely mean that. French Made Simple, Swing Low, Great Balls of Fire are some of the best rock songs made in my opinion. It almost sounds like the band created a new genre here honestly - sounds and feels something like "tropical beach rock". Parts of it here and there even sound like it has a hint of country. It is unfortunately one of the most underrated rock albums ever created and it's the bands best. This was Dave at his musical peak just before he passed, and it's a damn shame that more people are not hearing this absolutely killer fucking album.
@@CharismaStrategies I like that welcome kings is not popular. I can take it close to my heart, and think, that I'm one of the little community of Dave Wenger's. The gold is always deeper, and I feel like I found the biggest piece of it. I can find association of Dave in every song here. Dress you down is the story, of his love during his life, French made simple is his opinion about the time (he also made a song "m.poisson" in French language), grannys gonna eat starts very aggressive like his character, swing low has something very special, that takes time to understand, foot in mouth is about Emily I guess, great balls of fire is the brightest song in the album, gentlemen you may stand down is one of my favorite, for me is the most beautiful and melodically symphonic songs ever. The vocals in it very dark and sad, all it goes with noises of guitar and quiet chords of his korg piano. Mean time bride has very dirty lyrics, but it also good. When Venus comes feels unfinished, just like Dave's life. I went in time to shut you down, don't know about this one, but I think it's about rejection. Hard times is heavy, like the album itself. Homewrecker is just beautiful... The lyrics is one more angry love song in "Dave's" dirty style. The piano in it is very emotional, the drums is the apposite of the songs vibe, the guitars are sad, but not enough, this trick makes song more mysterious. The chorus part is very beautiful, the piano with vocals is showing emotions of the song just like vocals. Cockfight mysterious ending for this album. For the conclusion I gonna say, that this album is not just very beautiful music , but also a storyline of Dave, the mystery that you can solve and get in a result your own version of what was happening in Dave's mind (Sorry for bad English btw)
From the band's Wikipedia page: Daddy's Hands was a Canadian experimental rock band formed in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, by singer/guitarist Dave Wenger, bassist Emily Bauslaugh, drummer Jonah Fortune, and saxophonist Jonathan Pollard. Dave Wenger and Emily Bauslaugh had been involved in the British Columbian hardcore/emo scene before forming the band, being in bands M Blanket and Ache Hour Credo, and the band Floragore respectively. Daddy's Hands has released two demo tapes, one EP and two full-length albums. The band gigged extensively in the 90s, even playing a radio show with Nardwuar. Despite achieving little commercial success, the band has been referred to as highly influential in the West Coast music scene. Lead singer Wenger, highly regarded by some critics, has been referred to as Montreal's Peter Laughner. In 1996, the band released two demo tapes, a self-titled debut and Intelligent and Powerful. In 2000 they released a full album, Tutankhamun and a four-song EP in 2002 entitled Ghost in the Bong. Daddy's Hands' original lineup was intact until 2002 when Emily Bauslaugh died of a drug overdose in her Montreal apartment in 2002. After Emily's death, Dave's life took a downward turn and he started drinking more heavily. In May 2005, Dave, the remaining members of the original lineup, and two new members began recording the band's last album, Welcome Kings. Before the album was released, Dave was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Montreal on November 23, 2006. Welcome Kings was released posthumously in July 2007.
420th like u trynna smoke g
I finally found the treasure
Blowing my fucking mind!! Fucking dense
nah dude this is now my favorite cover of all time. insanely talented
I'd love to own this album one day
Phil knows how to do his intros
Good band fr
You are so talented it makes my goosebumps turn into tears
This is pretty cool
Reminds me of early modest mouse. But more aggressive and noisy
i get what you are saying, unorthodox song structure and very driven by a specific kind of guitar textures. there is more to it than that naturally, but i get it.
absolute perfect cassette
Wow, thats amazing! Can you give me tabs for harmonica please?
emily's voice is astonishing!
Amazing album
Wow bro, it's great
I like volcano moon (I kind of just put this here as a note to myself lol)
And glue balloon
awesome
yeah
blood goes flat, defend my corner and never let myself look sad
I love the sound of this album compared to the cassettes, I mean I love em both but losing the distorted vocals is a cool change IMO. Dave was actually a terrific vocalist and more detail is really good to hear.
Are the cd and cassette versions different?
There's previous cassettes albums, wich were raw and had distorted vocals in it @@rileycole2588
I wanted this album so much for years. I had copies of their first couple cassettes and just loved em. This was impossible to find. Thanks for sharing.
lucky! i'd kill for their first cassettes
this is so insanely good. i love this song + this cover is so great
lmao I just made it to the end
Thank you
beautiful song, beautiful cover
dude what the fuck this deserves so much more recognition
i had never heard this before! thanks! anything wenger touched is golden
Totally agree. Dudes a musical genius.
This ALBUM. I can't get enough.
Can u loop the outro of the glow part 2? Its beautiful
This album is just pure beautiful chaos. His vocals here are so dark and eerie, and I love it. Great Balls of Fire is really one of the best things I've ever heard, just to put that out there. Dave Wenger was a musical genius. To be completely honest, upon hearing this the first time I wasn't really feeling the overall style, but now I've absolutely fallen in love with this and can't stop listening.
A original.
I was kinda surprised it was him, this album is so much more higher quality and he sounds older lol
@@solitaryvibes2332 yeah it's a more mature sound for sure, every band i was in as a teenager we tried to emulate his vocal sound from the cassettes so there was distortion pedal on the lead vox =D
@@rezilla1how did you find out he ran his vocals through distortion? I also heard his just ran them through his guitar amp is there an article or something
@@lordmoldybutt646 yes a guitar amp is what I heard too, clearly with some overdrive
I still regularly return to this song after what feels like years because it's my favorite cover of it. The song itself is not very popular, but it's been my favorite song for a very long time now, and safe to say, covers for it are far and few between. Everything from the mouth harmonica, to the chords, to the singing, to the specific finger picking in the end is just perfect. If *you* aren't proud of your performance, I'll be it for you.
last part is just depressing bliss, i lose myself
It's kinda wild to think about how 2 of band's members died in tragic ways while listening to this.
how?
@@zitoalitia The bassist/vocalist died of a drug overdose in 2002 which caused the guitar player/lead vocalist to spiral into alcoholism. A few years after, they got together with some new members to record one more album. Right before it released, he was killed in a hit-and-run. You can go find articles going into more detail if you go look for them
@@zitoalitia one died of a drug overdose, but i cant seem to find another death from their lineup.

10/10. Wonder why this album, that is amazing in all aspects, is so unknown and underrated.
Bad luck i think, this cassette is really special.
