Welcome to the Camppatton Family Compound. In 2015 we started looking for a place to retire to OUTSIDE of California. My daughter had married at college and was going to settle down in Idaho. My wife said we should look there because she wanted to be near the grandbabies. We found a 4.8 acre lot with a house and a two stall garage and a small workshop, for $130,000. The price was great but the property needs a lot of work and our daughter & husband moved in while we were waiting to retire, and we now have 4 grandsons. In 2021 we got a second 1 acre place & house across the street.
Please join us as we fix up the properties, plant garden beds, an orchard and get ready to raise some livestock. Watch as we make our little place a safe haven for our family.
As the retired federal Emergency Management Coordinator I will be sharing emergency preparedness info on my other channel "Gray Man Prepping" at ruclips.net/user/GrayManPrepping

Always helpful to be able to extend a growing season 😊 Hot weather doesn’t help! Canning Amo😀😀😀
Absolutely!!
I've lit mine ,and it starts ,then it keeps going out any suggestion please 🙏
Three things come to mind; dry wick, this could be because there is not enough wick in the fuel or not enough fuel. Short wick adjustment. the wick is not adjusted to the proper height to burn properly. This can also cause smoking. Water in the fuel. with water in the fuel a couple of thing can happen. The water blocks the flow of fuel so there is not enough traveling up the wick to sustain the flame. The water close to the flame, turn to steam and puts the flame out. Pour the fuel out into a glass jar and let it sit for a while. Water will settle to the bottom. if you can't tell put a couple drops of food coloring in and stir the fuel. the food coloring with color the water not the fuel. If there is water in the fuel you need to check the source container for water as well. Bad fuel. bad fuel can inhibit proper combustion. After several years lamp oil can go bad. just as Old gasoline turns into a thick varnish, lamp oil changes too.

We agree with Phelan, That whole thing sounds very fishy
Didn't they say they were supposed to review the letters of interest and pick the best qualified person? I haven't seen that guy at ANY city council meeting video, ever! Sounds like some illegal back room deal with nepotism to get his son in. I would report that to the state AG

Thank you very much

Currently, rosemary, chive, green onion, and oregano, because that's about all I can grow. I also like to grow basil, thyme, parsley, and dill.
Nice! 👍
Wow. That could have fallen. That was smart to remove if that was anywhere near where people go, and/or anything you don’t want to get damaged. Be well.

You can prime a dry wick with a little WD-40
True, but it will stink for a little while. That's something people will have to deal with if they forget to get the wicks primed ahead of time.
Thanks for this. Might want to think twice about striking matches whilst wearing what could be fuel soaked latex gloves! could be cause for an emergency trip to the burns unit of the local hospital...
The fuel is combustible not flammable. Big difference. Combustible fuel needs a wick to burn, it cannot produce vapors to burn at room temperature. Thanks for your concern though.
Any danger, we use disel in kerosene latern
Diesel has toxic additives that makes it not healthy for use in the house.
Thank u 🙏🏻
And don't forget the button lamp from The Long Hard Winter book of Laura Ingall's. Axle grease smeared onto a china saucer, a button wrapped in cloth and tied over the button, the excess fabric forming a wick. I'm sure it smoked but it gave them light to read and cook by.
Great point! Definitely an emergency light source.
I need a new chipper. It would be a great help.
Now is the time to keep an eye on Home Depot & Lowes for sales
Now you have some good starting wood
We has some last night. it went on and on for most of the night
No disrespect at all, but I don’t think it was stressed enough, that in your thumbnail, you mention that these fuels are for “emergencies,” and not for every day use-at least that’s how I interpreted it. Diesel fuel may work, but given enough time in a small to medium sized room, it will smell like a truck stop very quickly-diesel fuel is smokey. An Amish gentleman who is very experienced with fuel lamps told me that they use Low odor mineral spirits in their lamps. It’s spendy but very clean burning, no smell and doesn’t carbon up the glass on the lamp.
No disrespect taken. Thank you for your suggestion on the thumbnail. I have changed it. Yes Diesel can be smokey if the wick is not trimmed (adjusted) correctly. And it needs trimmed often when in use unless one is using a carbon felt wick. I have since found out that on road diesel has more additives in it than off road and that puts off more toxic chemicals. I addressed this in the live stream I did last November on my preparedness channel (Gray Man Prepping) as a follow up to this video. Whenever I mention oil lamps in any live stream or recorded video, I say to stock up on a good quality lamp oil just like any other supply. Thank you for watching and your input. Stay safe and prepared.
Best wishes ❤

Hi 👋 Gill
Hey Al
nice little light show. my power stations are juiced up ready to go
Should still let snow joe know about this garbage. At least tag them or send it to them. Thanks for review. 👍
Great job
That will make a nice slide set up
Nice job of cleaning up Gil, we’ve got about five acres to cut after the first of the year. Thanks for sharing and hope you all have a blessed week my friend.
Thanks, you too!
That stump will make a good slide mount for the boys
Wonder what killed the pine? You sure don't have a shortage of wood chips. 👍
I have my suspicions who drilled holes into it
Great music Gil…enjoyed the video. It looks real nice too 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Interesting video, we had a drought for over 2 years we lost a lot of trees in our area. I lost 2 in my yard but that was from Emerald Ash borer which has killed a lot of Ash trees in Mpls/St. Paul area.
Cedar apple rust has caused my apple trees to get sick as well.
