    Prost and Senna were easily the best drivers of the modern era. Senna was faster, more flamboyant. But Prost was much smarter. Actually he outsmarted everyone and never, ever drive to his 100% potential. Then probably Schumacher. Then Hakkinen, Alonso, Piquet, Lauda. I would put prime Kimi Raikkonen up there too (his McLaren days) but his full career wasn't all that great.

    • @Ad-excelsum
      @Ad-excelsum 23 дня назад

      People often forget how many times Prost finished 2nd of the World Championship. With the amount of races and modern point systems he would probably be close to 7 titles.

    • @detonator2112
      @detonator2112 21 день назад

      @@Ad-excelsum People also forget that Prost is the only driver in history who beat FIVE WORLD CHAMPION TEAMMATES. Lauda, Senna (actually outscored him TWICE), K. Rosberg (who absolutely demolished his teammate Mansell in 1985), Damon Hill and Nigel Mansell in 1990. Schumacher never even had a decent teammate. Well Massa was a solid driver but that's it. Schumacher actually had almost 40 year old Piquet as a teammate for 6 races who ironically outscored Schumi in those six races.

    Senna’s Japanese DQ was for rejoining the track at a different point from which he left it, not for receiving outside assistance from the marshals. A ridiculous decision as people overshot chicanes at both Monza and Hockenheim amongst other places without penalty.

    yeah, I have to disagree. It's a miss understanding of a ban. a person loudly pro civil rights gets why a ban is there. it says something. It says this is the line. we want to see change. we want to internationally see these dead bodies stop piling up. It's the moment of change for most places (exception) russia. because it means that the world sees and says it's happening. part of the reason a lot of civil rights issues get ignored it's because the international stage doesn't boycott. no one wnats there dirty laundry in the middle of the street when you have skid stains. overall it's a good mini doc for the most part. but that kind of wild civil rights issue is the moment of pause for anyone on the public stage. I think there's a real parallel to many points in USA history, and other history about what you need to be in that moment on the public stage. not what you want to say AFTER the heat is off. But what you need to say loudly DURING the heat.

      Hi MistressOP. First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to comment on my video. To make my point clear, I agree that the measures against South Africa, including banning them from international sporting events was very important. However, Budd was banned even after she fled South Africa to go to the United Kingdom. Should one individual be held responsible for the atrocities committed by her countrymen? If you ask me, this is blind racism. I get your point but I believe she should have been let in the moment she changed nationalities and represented another country. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on this. Best regards

    • @MistressOP
      @MistressOP 6 месяцев назад

      @@Ad-excelsum Her mistake was her stance. There's others who fled south africa. And where loudly pro civil rights. Honestly, The USa should see some boycotts and never will. Which is sad because it would have probably help the hell out of this country. The boycott that was brewing before the orginal civil war which meant that the south couldn't get help internationally was HUGE. Again, you always have to knowlege the mistake. Which is the low, not loud, pro civil rights stance. Even after years later. YEARS and YEARs later it's so milk toast that it's like why bother? There's other figures from around that time in south africa who fled who were white and better examples of what to do on the public stage. Hell, there's modern south africans who fled who have better stances.

      @Flying-Roro 6 месяцев назад

      @@MistressOP I totally get your point, although I find it harsh to demand from a young kid to potentially put her family in danger by condemning the regime. There are times you are forced to take a stance, but in her case she actually suffered more by not taking a stance. Was she wrong? Maybe, did she pay a hefty price for it? I would say so. As to your point regarding US boycotts, are you referring to recent cases in particular?

    • @MistressOP
      @MistressOP 6 месяцев назад

      @@Flying-Roro She had a 10 year career. I think it was 10 or 7. She had years after it. At some point we gotta call a spade a spade. And I also take into the fact there's no moment of pause after it all went down. Just hints and hints. Which makes her a bit of a coward even after it all went down. Since it's a softer stance then even current south afrian fleers from the late 90s early 00s have. and there were less dead bodies then at that point. We have a habit of wanting to give passes but never give passes for weak civil rights stance. Wether it'f rom USA, russia, or south africa. Iseral or where ever. Because there's a lot of dead bodies on that. It's f'n disgusting. update - edit (hefty price for it? ) not really as very few people to this day even call her on it. You made a whole damn video. Dead bodies in the street. With flies and everything and mostly crickets for her whole career. muhammad ali went to jail I mean I could go through tons of people who actual paid real loud prices. She was inconvenience.

    • @Flying-Roro
      @Flying-Roro 6 месяцев назад

      You make good points. What I meant by hefty price is that it would have seemingly been easier for her to condemn apparteid and continue her career. As for me making the video, I think her story is interesting overall, the fact she ran barefoot, the Decker scandal etc... If you notice I named my video the barefoot athlete, not the athlete who didn't condemn apparteid. I'm fine with you saying she was a coward even if I wouldnt dare make that judgment myself, simply because I never had a comparable choice to make. I agree her story would have been greater had she condemned the regime but again, this would be a different story. As for Ali, he's the GOAT so no arguing there. 😊

    For Lance it wasn't just testicular cancer, it was in his brain and lungs too. It's a miracle he survived, and like it or not, he won 7 TDFs in a row! He was a great endurance athlete and let's be honest: all of the top cycling teams of that era were doping. Give the man some credit.
